I wish there was a larger thumb for me to click “like” on this video because it was so extremely helpful! You were exactly right there is hardly anything out there that explains this as well as you did! Thanks so much!

Helpful and well made video. Thank you.
I have the Radian RXT. Unfortunately it does not convert to a backless booster. My kids can't wait to get rid of this for a backless model. Saftey first, but I still have to endure the complaints.
I was surprised you setup the SuperLATCH system just for booster conversion. I have been using the latch system since converting to forward facing. This is a key feature of a good car seat and forward-facing is the most important time to use it. Backless boosters often do not require latching at all. This is not a backless booster so the latch will be needed, but it's really more about the weight of the seat than the requirement for kids safety. I have Radian Monterey boosters for my older daughter and they are so light a latch doesn't even seem necessary, certainly not with the back removed. A lot of cheaper boosters don't even have latches. The kids could sit on a phone book as long as the shoulder strap sits in the right spot. Anyone else remember phone books? Okay, time to go...

I thought you couldn't use the LATCH system after a certain weight limit and in combination with the lap/shoulder belt?

Thanks for the comment - I am not an expert and absolutely follow whatever your instruction manual says - my understanding is that once the seat is in booster mode the LATCH system acts to hold the booster seat in place but the vehicle seat belt actually acts as the safety device for the child.

Thank you for the helpful video. What do we do with the strap at the front of the bottom that we would pull to tighten or loosen the 5 point harness?

Thanks for the question! I should have mentioned that in the video - I just left it in place and tucked it under the front of the seat bottom. Hope this helps - let me know if you have other questions!

Did you leave the harness pull strap attached? I can’t find/figure out how to remove it since it won’t be used for the booster.

Great Question! Yes, I just left it in place and tucked it under the seat.

Can anything be done about the shoulder wings? Looks like those have to stay on but they hit my daughter’s shoulders which makes the booster seat not usable.

Thanks for the question! Coincidently, one of my kids was having this same problem last week. I don't see a way to remove the headrest wings. If anyone has any solutions short of buying a backless booster or new backed booster without the wings let us know. Thanks!

Does your kids height exceed that of use for this car seat as booster ? 57 inches?

I feel like ours extends pretty high up. Did you try to adjust it again? I always give it a good wiggle side to side to inch the head rest up

I had the same problem. I was able to remove the headrest by removing 4 screws on the back (2 on each side) which hold the headrest in place to a brass bracket. They are 10 mm hex head. My child is 53” which is within the limit of the car seat but his shoulders would hit the wings. Poor design IMO.

A perfectly paced and documented how-to. Far better than the manufacturer's guidance. Bravo, sir 🫡
