Hello everyone! Mr. Blanco, I would like to thank you for sharing your passion and expertise... Such a vast wealth of knowledge here. I am very excited for coffee and piano practice in the morning:)
This lesson is really helpful, many thanks. I really like all the practical examples as well as your playing skills !!! Hope there will be more video about Latin jazz !!! Keep up with the great work!!! Cheers from Italy 🇮🇹
I have a very similar instrument configuration. As my main keyboard I have the Roland RD-700 NX, and for my MIDI keyboard, I use the Akai mpk 261. After several laptop failures I decided to try a synth app on my tablet to provide voices for the MIDI keyboard, and make it more of a stand alone device. I was Inspired by Matt Johnson of Jamiroquai's set up. He blends classic organic Rhodes sounds with vintage nostalgic Moog synth type sounds.
It might be helpful for other aspiring students to remember that you can adjust the playback speed of the video if you need more time to process the information that you are hearing while improvising along with the instructor.
Great video, Raul!! Definitely gonna practice these now. Have you tried Bb triad over C, or the “Sweet Caroline” dominant. ;-) IV chord over the root of the V.
James Carter Sure! 😊 I just wanted to mention these 5 as a starting point. Since the Bb over C is also a suspended 4 chord, it has other implications... good topic for another video. 👍
This is one of the best videos I’ve seen on Latin jazz
🙏 I’m honored.
Thank you Raul, I have difficulty with improvising. Thanks for does tremendous tips.
My pleasure!
