    Thank you so much. My Central broke down a week ago. Thank God it was cool this week. But here in South Texas it’s gets Hot really fast. My part won’t come in until 4 more days. I needed to know how to do this real quick. This is my first install. Tired from work getting dinner at McDonald’s I saw the whole video got home and knocked it out quickly. Thanks again.

    I have a Toshiba 15,000 BTU it works really well. I live in a garage built like home, and it gets super hot in it. The fan blower in the attic stopped working, and my room got up to 79 degrees F. I believe Toshiba makes good hard disk drives.

    add some foam insulation on the back of the a/c covers. will insulate noice and temp better. Also if you don't already have something put a shade over the aircond. high enough for it to breathe. Then your a/c wont work as hard and may feel cooler. Great job installing looks nice.

    From what I was able to discern, the non-sticky foam goes between the upper and lower sash. Our windows are 90 years old and coming apart, so we're going to go to Hobby Lobby and buy some foam to put outside behind the slide shutters. The instructions weren't very good that came with ours (We didn't get a booklet). Also, it's not fair because you had a platform to set you A/C on 🤨 🙂

    OK you did not mention anything about mounting it with the outiside on a 14% angle. Even with doing that I have a lot of water forming inside the unit. And I can not see any drain opening or hole for the water to drain out of the unit. I called Toshiba and all they could say was mount it on a angle. But since there is no drain this doesn't address the problem. Did you have issues with the condensation and the water backing up inside and the fan splashing around?

  • @FloraNoctis
    @FloraNoctis 2 года назад

    Hello, I have the Toshiba RAC-WK0611CRU model, and am currently having a big struggle with it leaking into the living room floor. I have checked the window unit angle, and that checks out. It's tilted back. I have removed the front cover, cleaned everything in it including filter, and I'm still getting the leaking issue. I don't want to remove the unit from the window, as it's sealed rather well and I'm basically on my own with this, so I am hoping to find another way to clear any obstruction that might be causing the water to not drain towards the back. The drain outlet underneath has been checked for a plug, but I am currently waiting for a pipe cleaner set to arrive in order to try accessing through the drain area. I have also used water hose pressure on the backside of the unit with success in removing debri and dirt, however, I have let it dry and the problem continues to persist. Do you have a video or could you make one discussing this issue and possible alternative ways to troubleshoot? I'm out of ideas.

      @@TheToughGuysTV I think the timer goes in increments of 5min. Example: 0.5= 5min, 1.0=10 min... If the timer it's off position it means the unit will shut off in x minutes. If it's in the on position it means the unit will turn on automatically in x minutes. Kinda confusing due to the lack of display info.

I understand you posted this a year ago, but i just got mine and was concerned as well, mine is not draining either and the fan inside the unit is actually hitting the water. But its been working fine other than that. And I have no water in the house, so im assuming its working fine.

      @@tradetalk1 These newer units are made to take advantage of the condensation to catch in the fan to be splashed on the condenser. I had an older unit that didn't drain and the water buildup got so bad sitting there it began rusting the damn unit so badly. I pulled the edges on the back to help it drain some cause it was slowly rusting away.

    I'm debating on whether to get this or a midea 6000 btu one...both seem to check most boxes for me. I don't want to drill any holes (live in a rental, and don't have a drill, and my window is aluminum) . Think it'll be ok without using the hardware to drill it into the window frame? I have wooden boards I can use to press down on the part of the window that presses against the unit (not sure how to describe that lol). Also I'm hoping to not have to add the support ledge thing outside the window..think it'll still be safe? Thanks.

      Never a bad idea for additional support if you are at all concerned about it potentially falling out. The heavy part is outside the window, so you need to make sure it's well secured. I can't comment on your direct situation, but def use caution and good luck!

      I only use it for my office, about 150-200 SF, so it’s overkill - it turns that room into an ice cube. It would easily do well in a much larger room. For the horizontal slider you may run into issues - see if Toshiba sells a kit for sliders. Good luck!

      First thing I can think of would be to check the circuit it’s hooked up to, and the outlet itself to make sure no issues there. Then run an extension cord and plug it into a different room altogether. Worst case the unit itself is defective, no doubt it happens - hopefully the store you bought it from will swap it. I’m considering buying the 15,000 btu of this brand and wondering how strong and cold of air did your unit put out. I’m concerned because home depot is not offering the extended warranty on this brand like they do GE and other brands. I have a Frigidaire 12000 unit now that’s only 3 years old and it barely blows air and can’t cool 400 sq room at all. I’ve cleaned filters and cools and even cleaned outside unit out. It never really cooled well when brand new so I’ll not buy another Frigidaire unit again
