I've been subbed to you since July 24th 2015 (I checked with xxluke's tool) and that was when I was a kid. I don't really comment a lot but felt like commenting this but since then I learnt a lot more about computers and now work in IT. And one thing I agree with this video that annoys me so much is the fact that older laptops and machines that still have life in them are being thrown away creating a lot of e-waste. I am seeing this in front of my eyes as a grown up now but Windows 11 just infuriates me so much. It's crappy requirements means that in a business perspective, so many machines are going to be thrown away, even if they're perfectly capable for office tasks in which most businesses undertake. The cons outweigh the pros for me upgrading to Windows 11 so I am going to stick with Windows 10 until 2027 (when 2021 LTSC is no longer in support) both on my home rig (i9-12900K + RTX 3080) and work laptop (Ryzen 5 5650U) unless Windows 11 becomes valid enough for me to upgrade without losing rock-solid stability. Good video as always and if you're interested, the first video I've watched of yours was destroying Windows 8 on your MacBook. I still remember seeing that as a kid for the first time and was so addicted to that song. Zeitgest I think it was.
Thank you! I don't have any computer that officially supports Windows 11, so if I don't get a newer one by October 2025, I really have to move to a Linux distribution. Or I could install 10 LTSC, but might as well try something different if I have to install a new OS. I use older unsupported OSs often, but I do want security updates on my main computer.
I remember doing the prequel of upgrading from Windows 8 to 8.1 on my HP 2000 when it came out on the Microsoft Store. Always wondered how it’d react upgrading to 10, especially since they offered the opportunity to do the upgrade right within the current operating system during the first year of its launch
That computer is far from done for, as it has a Core i7 - the same one as in my HP Pavilion 15! I was going to say that 4GB RAM in such a machine was a surprise, though now I see why it is 4GB. Still, DDR3L memory is cheap to get hold of nowadays, so 8GB (2x 4GB) is well worth having, or even better, 16GB (2x 8GB). I will soon no longer be using mine as a main machine though, since it's time to upgrade to something with more capabilities (however, I will still keep mine). Thanks for sharing your upgrade process!
This HP laptop came with 8 GB of RAM, but I downgraded it to 4 because I took its RAM to upgrade a different computer (my ThinkPad T440s, which has 12 GB now). It has two DDR3 RAM slots so it could be upgraded to 16 GB.
honestly, for those purposes you said in the video it wasn't really necessary to upgrade to windows 10 for now yes chrome doesn't support it, but heck things still support chrome 68 after ~4-3 years

i suggest you don't, i've experienced terrible terrible performance on windows 11 while very good on windows 10

The upgrade shown in this video is pretty much identical to the upgrade you'd do when Windows 10 was brand new in 2015, except it's not automatic.
Thank you for sharing. I found myself wondering if I could do the same thing and with the same pc. Thank you very much!

If it's a computer you use regularly, the Windows 10 upgrade is worth it for the security updates alone.
@@TheComputerGuy96 windows 10-11 should be installed on every computer where it runs good.
The upgrade never works for me. It’s annoying.
Sorry about that. If you get an error code or error message, look it up online and you should find a solution.
