I bought the cheapest F90 BMW M5 Competition i could find on the internet. The mechanic who sold it me said it wasn't worth repairing, but i thought id give it a go and repair some serious structural damage! After being successful i thought it might be easy from there, but i was wrong and now the expensive part starts!

My 2021 GX 460 didn't retract side windows when locking the car. I found out that you can make it happen with a little device sold online that needs to be installed under the steering wheel.
I'm no mechanic, buy thanks to you and your videos, showing that it's not rocket science disassembling and reassembling parts of a car interior, I got the courage to open up the bottom of the steering wheel, installed the device, closed it, and like a magic trick, it worked!!!
My 2021 GX 2021 now folds/unfolds exterior side windows when locking/unlocking 😂😅. I would have never even thought of giving something like that a shot if it wasn't for your great videos and hard work.

I was the one that came up with the idea for the pedestrian sensor by using a tube and two crash pressure sensors. The sensors are similar to the pressure sensors that are used in the door cavities. I worked with designing and manufacturing airbag systems for 30 years. The hood pops up to give a cushion to the person that lands on the hood as the hood deforms. There are two types of crash sensors (pressure and acceleration) that give input to the airbag module.

Matt you need to code those lights unless they are stock originals, first make sure that they have the individual modules fitted to the lights, You could try starting from scratch, fit and connect the passenger one first on its own, (worth trying on/off - on/off 5 times), then move to the drivers side hook that up then the same procedure there. Ultimately any change of light unit will need the light(s) to be coded to that cars ECU. HTH

You was working every hour possible buying a place to rent it out twice if i remember rightly?
Then Hanna crashes her car you go to mend it & documented it as well which brings you to where you are today well done you deserve it you truly do!

I also respect the way you’re always giving back that’s so refreshing & it humbles you it truly does.
Some of us didn’t make the right choices ending up disabled & I don’t want anyone to feel sorry for me, I’ve had a good life & seeing so many different sides to it especially from abled to disabled & let me tell you this from someone who’s always on a London bus with me freedom pass they just stopped as they want evidence I still need it, we’ll some things you don’t recover from sadly.

He either circled your feet which ever one you lifted he bit or he wanted a foot w@^k so I said “STAFF” stood for Staff That As Foot Fetish.
Sorry for going on I’ve had the worst case of the runs & being disabled means you can’t run to the loo so I’ve messed up twice TMI! (Sorry)

Dude it's so nice to see you admit to mistakes and actually show them on video! You don't see much of that. It shows humility and honesty and helps other people from making such mistakes or atleast makes it easier to find them afterward! Love seeing your videos Mat! Keep at it! 💯

One thing i love about Mat is that he always admits his mistakes if he makes them - stopping us folk from doing the same should we be mad enough to take on jobs like these!! Top bloke!!

Love the channel Mat and the way you present and explain. The theme throughout these salvage repairs is highlighted at the end of this one though. When you can buy the same vehicle without the previous total loss history for only some £10k more than you’ve got invested in it at this point, and you’ve yet to pay for paint and labour, plus any other expenses before it’s finally complete, and you’ve not costed in your own labour time…it highlights the very reason the insurers deemed it an “uneconomical” repair in the first instance. Sadly, the majority of “salvage” repairs aren’t repaired as carefully or thoroughly as yours appear to be in order for the individual to make money on them when selling on to an unsuspecting buyer…….there are a lot more badly repaired salvage vehicles out there than properly repaired ones. No reflection intended on you Mat, love the content and your down to earth attitude👍

Looking good Matt! Love seeing an ‘Everyman’ doing real, heavy lifting on these projects. Keep up the good work! Oh, not sure if this still holds, but as a long time BMW owner and amateur mechanic, genuine BMW coolant has always been recommended among the faithful, and the factory coolant is blue in color.
