You can also put wood glue into the screw hole and then hammer in the wooden spikes.

What if the door has been changed and the new hinge isn’t sitting in the old rebated hinge, it is not rebated and starts to drop sag

Good question.... either mark where the new hinges are on the old door frame and notch out on the frame or move the hinge up or down on the door to suit existing frame

Or fill the old hinge notch outs on the door frame and start from scratch 👌

Just use a planer on the door corner
