Rivers make CUTS through the Earth, as they do this, the water receded, hences, it created the diffent levels of earth. BENCHES. Hilcrest, Sunrise Drive, and above Randolf Roberts Subdivision, SECOND AND THIRD BENCHES. Canal created irrigation forthe benches, and many long time farms and Orchards were created. Born in Idaho, lived in South Boise, Division Ave. Way before River Run, Loggers Creek was our neighborhood playground. As an adult, returning to Boise from Military. Lived on Bench. Behind Depote, and off of Roosevelt, then right behind or West, of Crescent Rim drive. Now live in Eastern oregon. Great video. Miss Boise. But not the growth.😉
My friend used to live on the bench. Her water was absolutely nasty. They were in a battle for years to get the water fixed. They couldn't use it for anything. A whole neighborhood was like that with brown water coming from the tap. My friend doesn't live there anymore and as far as I know they never took care of the water issues.
Is the greater Boise area ideal for someone who would still need to work for 15-20 years? Is the job market healthy enough there? Options for non HOA homes?
Idaho is a right to work State. The wages have never kept with nation wide wages! It is expensive to live here. If you require a job, good luck finding a job with good wages. Rent is terribly expensive and houses are 79% overpriced since 2005. Don't recommend Idaho unless you are loaded!
Its so safe its ridiculous. It weirded me out how friendly people are in Boise. Having said that, because everyone who's lived here is kind of in this bubble of safety, they complain about really miniscule things on next door like "this person looked at me odd so keep an eye out". I would say outside of Boise, people are really, really, conservative. Lots of Christians & Mormons & the "values" they hold dear are definitely reflected in politics & other ways. I dont think Idaho in general would be in my top list for being inclusive. As far as race goes its predominantly a white state. So, there's that. Which might not make everyone feel safe.
Best everyone avoid this state like the plague… advisable that one seek refuge in a Sanctuary State, like CA, OR, WA or IL, as you will be much happier there!!

No! Wages suck. Housing expensive. No alternative transportation.

How is the crime rate in Boise or surrounding areas?

It used to be quiet. But with all the implants, crime has trippled!
Funny the rich have no HOA

Are gun laws any different in Boise compared to Star, Eagle, Meridian, Coeur d Alene?
No. We Idahoans love our guns!
