Hi friends! Thanks so much for watching. We hope you liked this video. What do you need to have in a flat to feel at home? We for example love plants and books 😊🧡
Another contribution from Claudia and Jan and as always - I don't know which part impresses me more. Their ability to find people for their interviews who have interesting content to share, their ability to make these people feel comfortable and not use the opportunity to get their unrelated personal opinions across, or the absolute perfection of their professional level in videography and visual art. With these talents, and in particular this mindset in doing what you are doing at your best - Claudia and Jan will succeed in life - in whatever they touch.
Wow Bernhard, thanks a lot for such a kind comment and for your much appreciated support. It made us so happy to read your amazing words and feel very grateful. Have a wonderful week ⭐️🧡
CHF 2'450 for this kind of flat is still on the cheap side. From the views he probably lives in the "Freilager" which was publicly supported and was deliberately set up as "affordable" housing. Although some flats cost above 4k in rent.
@@claudiaandjanwhen they initially rented out the whole development the prices where public. And the larger 3-bedroom (aka 4 1/2 Zimmer) cost more than 4k. And this was idk 6-7 years ago. So even with public support they are likely even higher. In this area anything of that size cost 4K. Also large flats in Zurich generally cost at least 4k. You can also easily spent 6-7k on good apartments.
This was great! It’s super helpful to know what is realistic for the price in different areas. Thank you for making to much material on Switzerland, we are hopefully moving in the next year
See the interior of the homes, very interesting. What a nice and generous young man, showing his beautiful house! Claudia, I love your scarf, where did you buy it?
Thank you very much for this content. I would like to recommend you an idea for future video and it is the "silence requirements and rules" at the living buildings.
Great idea, really interesting! I was finally in Zurich on saturday and sunday, and the costs for apartments are the one thing that really bothers me. So that really helps! I know youre focused on Zurich, but maybe you can do it for some other "popular" Swiss Cities? Bern and Lucerne would be really interesting for me.
Really nice and useful video for people who are looking to move to Zurich or have an interest in working there. Imo it would also be good to do a comparison between different parts of the city, i.e. Albisrieden VS Altstetten VS Friesenberg (just to mention a few, you surely know better than me which comparisons might make more sense). For example, I remember some guys on MrRip channel said that Altstetten is "the working class" zone of the city. Said that, keep it up with all your good work, it's really enjoyable! Looking forward to the next video :)
Very interesting. I’m in a different city, 1.5k stabilised rent (not Genossenschaft) and 2 BR, washer/dryer, dishwasher. Glad I didn’t choose Zürich for me… but this apartment is quite ok price-wise (for Zürich especially, two bathrooms, views, washer/dryer). Love your videos! ❤
Similar unit with such nice interior and view probably will cost 4500 to 5000 USD in San Francisco Bay Area. The income in the Bay Area may be the same as in Zurich, but the quality of living in Switzerland is way higher
I used to lived in Alstetten. it's one of the cheapest and closest places to the center of Zurich. It has nice parks too and a great taqueria, but tbh I prefer to live in Basel.
In general - yes. But it depends on whether you are the principal renter (the one who is legally liable for the contract with the landlord) or whether you are "buying out " such a renter for the remainder of his rental contract in which case - there is often a purchase price for the purchased furnitures and a mark up for the original renter's agreement to assign the contract to the new renter.. In today's market, this man was not the only one who applied.
Nice video but in the future, try to perhaps do some B-rolls of the apartment with perhaps a wider lense, I didn't really feel I fully understood the layout of the apartment + the second bathroom was barely visible. Also, did I miss it or did you guys not film the bedroom? It's not really much of an apartment tour if the bedroom is not showcased, is it now? 😂
@@claudiaandjan Hi, What you said makes sense. However I have heard , it's one of the most affordable cantons in Swiss when it comes to renting , and that helps the student community.
Very interesting videos! Congratulations! Is it true that in order to be hired in Switzerland, you need to reside there as well? Or its possible to apply firstly from abroad and then move ?
Hello thanks for your comment! Yes we realized that ourselves and even used an AI tool to work around. It was much worse before we edited it 🙃 There was a connectivity issue unfortunately with the cable. Hence we tried to make the most out of the material we had. There has been a lot of background work, which is not directly visible.
Hi, I live in syria and I'm gonna travel to Swiss also my High-school diploma degree it's 70% and I also have a Swiss nationality so can I study in the ETH ?
@@claudiaandjan I'm not sure, I don't live there but had an interest of moving there and asked a few friends. Two things come to mind. One, rents have significantly increased in the past two-three years. Second, entering in a rent agreement with a landlord for the first time is significantly more expensive than taking over an existing rent agreement. Is this correct?
That’s very cheap for Zürich. Also, Altstetten isn’t exactly a central district and there’s a lot of subsidised housing. It’s just not really representative of the rental market in Zurich. Btw, I was born and raised in the city.
@@claudiaandjan because Alstetten is not a « good » neighborhood in Zurich and it’s not considered as being within Zürich « city ». Few years ago, nobody wanted to live there except low income people…

If I have plants, books, paintings, photographs and sunshine in my window, I feel at home.
