  • In this video, I’ll answer the question - what is a wifi extender? I’ll answer that question and also provide tips on what to look for when selecting a wifi extender. I’ll also review three wifi extenders that you might want to take a closer look at if you’re thinking about purchasing one. I’ll leave a link for each one in the description below.
    Wi-Fi extenders, also known as Wi-Fi repeaters, are used to amplify your existing Wi-Fi signal. This helps in increasing your Wi-Fi range and ensuring it reaches every corner of your house, workplace, etc.
    What is a Wi-Fi Extender? The video will explain in detail.

    Did I hear correctly that to increase the strength I need a repeater not an extender. I want to increase the signal to my three cameras on the side of the house. Can I just plug in the repeater in the same room as the router and get a stronger signal to each of them?

    Hello, my daughter lives in college but she have a dead zone in her room which make her hard to connect to her printer , even our video calls lack and froze every time. She have a wifi through the university which she connected. Now what will be best for her an extender? Since the connection is wifi?

    Nice info, If in a building the electric sockets for transmitter and receiver are on different phases of the mains, will the extender work?

    If I cant get an ethernet cable from my router to my pc. Would using a wifi extender then an ethernet cable to connect my pc work and get the same results?

      I think you’d be better off getting an Eero pod system. That’ll strengthen your WiFi network and reduce dead spots.

    I'm interested in buying a WIFI extender! Which one do you recommend for a wireless PRINTER?

    • @LetsTeach
      @LetsTeach  9 месяцев назад +1

      As long as your extender and printer are on the same networks, you shouldn’t have a problem. It’s not about the printer or extender. It’s about making sure they’re both on the same network.

    If the Wi-Fi is at downstairs, and I want the Wi-Fi to pass to upstairs, is it using Wi-Fi extender? Or Wi-Fi router?

  • @LarryMar

    So, if I have 500Mbps speed next to the wifi router and my furthest room has only 85Mbps speed then adding an extender will not boost the speed of the furthest room? What will increase the speed?

    • @LetsTeach

      What’s worked for me has been to add an EERO Mesh system to my network. The pods do a much better job of spreading the wifi signal throughout my house. The main EERO is plugged into the router and then I have two pods (part of the set). One is upstairs in a common area and the other is downstairs in a central common area. With that setup, I always have fast connection. If you don’t want to switch to the EERO, you’ll want to make sure your router is in a central location and your extender is closer to it. I hope this explanation helps some and makes sense.

      @@LetsTeach After researching all this lingo, I decided to "back-hook-up" my home's Cat5 cables. I have a cat5 outlet by the wifi router and a cat5 outlet where I want to move. So all I need to do is go to the main junction and couple those two together for a straight run to each room. Then I just use LAN like before and 500Mbps bingo! I only have to spend $35 for cat5 crimper and male ends. This should keep me good until the next generation of wifi.

      @@LarryMar Nice! Glad you found a solution. I wanted to go that route. When my house was built, I made sure to include all of that. Long story but it turns out that’s one of only two things that didn’t get done properly and I realized it too late. Anyway, glad you found a fix.

    If I wish to Extend and Sustain the same leve of Speed, should i get a Wifi Extender or a Repeater? Im mostly asking from a gamer's prespective. Thank you!

    • @LetsTeach
      @LetsTeach  2 месяца назад +1

      An extender would be better. You should look into getting an EERO system. I use it and for me, it’s way better than any extender.
