    Great tips, I’ve been a solo worship leader (for the most part) for 30 years; sometimes without a sound system. I love the freedom that it gives to engage the church where they are without the worship team being caught off guard trying to play a song the way they learned it. I learned that less is more, more often
    than not; trying to Integrate things for performance value robs the worship element. I learned that it’s worth not showing off skill level, which the performance mentality is always a temptation.
    One night I was leading an intimate worship night with just the acoustic. After it was over a guest came up to me and said, “I usually like to listen to real musicians, but sometimes I like what you do too” 😂. I thanked her because with true worship you walk away excited about how good God is, not how good the musicians were.

    11:10 I’ve been leading worship since the late 90s. It’s usually just me and my drummer. I use Multitracks for most songs while playing acoustic. Without Mutitracks I usually use a pad on Playback. When I’m playing keys I don’t use backing tracks. Sometimes I stop playing so that the congregation can hear themselves sing. I use a Fender Acoustisonic with a guitar synth or a Taylor Big Baby. I’ll choose song keys in the baritone range. Those with a high range can sing an octave higher. I find most churches choose keys that are too high.

    Me and one other singer and no instruments. We sing with videos that we make either with background singers or without. Your channel has been such a help to teach us how to lead worship well even in our situation.

    Thank you so much for this! It's just me and a keyboard or ukulele, and half of our (very small) group refuses to even sing. I feel so inadequate, so this video was really encouraging.

    I'm leading worship with my small group and soon at a new campus for our church. We are starting small, so this is a huge help for me because i am by myself with my guitar.

    Myself on keyboard. I usually have some singers and on occasion a drummer. Everyone is new to singing and playing (my drummer is 7 years old lol! But he is learning and it’s wonderful to watch him grow!)

    Just me playing the soprano saxophone, with a piano player. This helps to emphasize the melody, especially on new songs. Sometimes I will play some harmony if the congregation is getting it.

    Best truth I read was in Jeremy Riddles book THE RESET. He said you can take a person playing and acoustic guitar add a great band add lights, mist and a mountain scene background and you have something which is more entertaining but no more powerful.

      Truth. I still need to read that book. Thanks for the reminder! 👊

    Piano and keys here. Something that helps me is remembering that while I get a bigger slice of the pie, I have to OWN the pie; if I want to make it bigger, faster, more energetic (or vice versa), I've gotta leave space to grow or shrink into that.

      Good point! Dynamics are just as important when you're leading by yourself. And they're often harder to do because you can't just add drums and bass at the start of verse 2.

    I actually lead with vocals and drums. I create my own backing tracks of the songs I'm leading that don't contain drums or vocals. At first it was a huge undertaking, but once I make the backing tracks I can reuse them so I've built a collection of them.

    It’s me and one other singer with a band . Sometimes I focus too much trying to get her to follow me that I lose focus . I’m asking God to help me with that . To lean more to the congregation and get them involved .

    Acoustic and a singer. Using pads makes a big difference and can give you space to worship between songs or during a quieter part.

    • @LeadingWorshipWell
      @LeadingWorshipWell  2 года назад

      For sure! What's your set up for running pads? I keep it simple and use a tablet plugged into a volume pedal.

    • @Adamdwines
      @Adamdwines 2 года назад

      Just now using an old phone, no fear of it ringing as it has no SIM, and using the continuous pads app for Android into an inexpensive passive volume pedal (Donner viper) to the aux channel of the amp. Tried two different amps at the same time but using one gave it more cohesive sound.

    it sounded like there was something other than your guitar playing on the "without pad" part. Did I miss something? do you have a track playing under? Sorry just curious. great video very helpful!!!

    Thanks for the tips, your speaking voice is really smooth, but I was a bit distracted by you over annunciating the demo song and adding quite a bit of nasal tone with your vowels. Your voice would sound smoother without adding in the nasal affect
