      1. Open eye occasionally to connect the people you are leading but also close your eyes, show them how to lead.

    Hi Spenser! Thanks for your thoughts. I think about 6 point that we don't know what our gathering need to sing on Sunday. But the Holy Spirit knows. Maybe it's better to ask God what we should sing on, because worship belongs to Him, not us. What He wants us to sing Him? What do you think about it? 😀

      That’s also my opinion. Holy Spirit is the best worship leader for the worship leader 🕊🙌🏼🎶

    14:30 also if you learn open E it opens up the guitar plus I think bc the chord shapes are so much simpler it allows you to focus more on actually leading worship

      Also checkout, Sing! How Worship Transforms Your Life, Family and Church by Keith and Kristin Getty. I purchased and gave a copy to each member of the worship team and church leadership and also you can listened to the authors read it on audible.

    Good teaching. Many feel that to close eyes or shout at people to close eyes. I never agree to this

    • @jammingdan
      @jammingdan 2 года назад +1

      I do both: there is a time to open the eyes in praise and worship, but in a flow moment of the Spirit it’s good to close the eyes.🕊🎶🙌🏼

    • @terrencenbanbury5220

      To close your eyes is to enter into a very personal and intimate worship of God. As a corporate worship leader, that is not the time to do it. As you are currently serving God and His people, you must remain in contact with the people. They may be so moved, but you have a service to perform. It's not about you at that time.

    • @arthurels5832
      @arthurels5832 9 месяцев назад

      Very uh… biased idea. You close ur eye because it takes away your distraction. And because it helps it be intimate. Like raising our hands and praying (we always close our eyes huh).
      You’re the worship leader yes, you don’t need to literally open ur eyes the entire time. If you never close ur eyes, never raise ur hand, never shout, never jump or dance. Then expect ur church to do the same

    Lyrics need to be presented so the congregation knows what words are next. Since hymnals are a thing of the past (😢), the lyrics are on screen. HOWEVER, many transitions appear just as they are to be sung, thus leaving the congregation unprepared, confused and frustrated (unless they have it memorized which, let's be honest, they don't). Why make it difficult to worship? Put the next line on screen with enough time to prepare to sing it. Scrolling would work well for this. It seems such a simple thing but I've been to many churches that get this wrong. Look at your service this week and see how much time is being given to know what to sing next.

    I have to add another. Communicate directly to you drummer. During rehearsals and worship. Look...at him/her and talk directly. Make sure you include drummer in the communication. If you make a change to the song (add or delete a verse, or a few bars, etc.) or anything on the fly. Why? Because we are in the back. Turning to your upfront people (singers and guitars) and saying something off-mic, doesn't get the job done, especially if a drummer is using in ear monitors. If the only time you talk to the drummer is when you say, "You're too loud/fast!" then I guarantee you, the drummer is unhappy.

    How can you plan your set list in advance when you have to co-ordinate with the pastor but the pastor only gives you the theme of the sermon on a wednesday evening? This gives you Thursday to choose the songs and send out to the team, friday to let it marinate and Saturday to do the rehearsal...

    • @terrencenbanbury5220
      @terrencenbanbury5220 Год назад

      This is a problem with my former church. Some are insensitive to the effects of thier unorganization and procrastination on others involved in worship.

    • @arthurels5832
      @arthurels5832 9 месяцев назад

      Just don’t match with the pastor. That’s what we do. We only match sometimes and on special events. Worship song is worship song. It doesn’t make it better or worse to have to match with pastor every week. If anything, match the pastor theme after his sermon- if there even is worship right after tht
