      Have people actually read the background story about these brothers and the evidence produced at trial? There was a lot of evidence and witnesses to show that that these two were planning a murder to inherit money and they had a predisposition for violent behavior.
      Even still this was a very carefully planned murder. And if they were only molested by the dad then why kill their mom?? The story isnt adding up.

    Their actions broke the chain of abuse and brought all this out into the open for all to see, instead of covering it up to this day. And yet society inflicted the harshest punishment imaginable upon them in return - life without parole. They should have been rewarded.

      @@9395gb There is literally no evidence whatsoever to support that theory which is why the grand jury never accepted that lie. They were only convicted after a rigged second trial that excluded evidence of abuse. They literally thought they weren't in the will.

    • @ReturnOfTheJ.D.
      @ReturnOfTheJ.D. Месяц назад

      @@9395gb If they were cut out of the iheritance, how would killing their parents help them get it? And if they were going to be cut out of their inheritance, how would they know they were not yet cut out for sure? It's a flimsy rationale for such an extreme act, and a Grand Jury sitting in 1993 before the trial on the question of "murder for financial gain" refused to endite the brothers on that, so that was already legally resolved before the trial.

    • @9395gb
      @9395gb Месяц назад

      @@ReturnOfTheJ.D. Did you not read what I wrote and what evidence was provided at trial. They killed their parents and told the police initially it was a likely a mafia hit.
      They also hired a computer expert to destroy their dad's new will that was stored on the computer. Destroying the will then means they get the entire inheritance. Under California law, if a person dies intestate (without a will) then the next of kin gets the person's entire property/money. They would be the next of kin since their mother was also deceased.
      Killing both of their parents and destroying the new will (in their minds) would have ensured that received their dad's (and mom's) entire fortune. Telling the police that the mafia was involved was to throw the police off.
      However, their behavior after the killings was outrageous. A $700,000 shopping spree. Then they ended up confessing to two of their friends that they did the killing. You add onto that they hired a computer expert to delete the new will and the computer expert testifying to this and the fact that they never mentioned any sexual abuse during their therapy sessions, then their stories have too many red flags in them.

    It's sick that parents turn their children into perpetrators and then the children have to pay for it. I hope that the two of them will be released soon and that the laws will be changed. It cannot be the case that if someone is tortured and defends themselves after years because they can no longer endure the torture, they will be punished. Unfortunately, the law is such that victims are often treated like perpetrators...see the Central Park Five to name just one of many examples

They only complained about their dad being a dictator and said their mom was suicidal. Lyle even said he was doing her a favor and putting her out of her misery.
      Also after they killed their parents, they went on a $700,000 shopping spree. This included purchase a restaurant, a cafe, a porsche carrerra, 3 rolex watches, a full-time tennis coach and they took expensive trips to the Caribbeans and London. You don't think it's unusual to go on a huge spending spree and taking lavish vacations right after you killed your parents and sexually abusive dad? Their behavior makes no sense. These two were even caught attending a NY Knicks game and sitting courtside a few weeks after the killings. You think this is normal?
      A computer expert said he was hired to delete a file of their dad's will showing that he had changed his will to leave them less money. Lyle's friend also confirmed that Lyle told him this as well and decided to get rid of their dad's new will. Erik's friend even said that he and Erik wrote a screenplay about a son killing his dad in order to get their inheritance.

      At the time of the murders Lyle and Eric believed their lives were in danger (there are credible reasons for this but it's too complicated to get into here). When there are extenuating circumstances such as abuse, the charge should be Manslaughter, which carries a shorter sentence. Lyle and Eric were charged with First Degree Murder in the 2nd trial but they should have been charged with Manslaughter. The first trial was a hung jury with the 6 women calling for Manslaughter and the 6 men calling for Murder so it was declared a mistrial. At this point they have served many more years than they would have gotten with Manslaughter so that's why a resentencing would result in their release. They have served more than enough time.

    "On the evening of August 20, 1989, José and Kitty were watching television in the den of their Beverly Hills mansion when Lyle and Erik entered the den, carrying loaded shotguns. José was shot six times, including a fatal shot to the back of his head. Kitty was shot ten times in total. Before the fatal shot to her cheek, she was on the ground, crawling away. Lyle ran to the car where Erik handed him ammunition to reload before firing the fatal shot to her face.
    In the months after the killings, the brothers spent lavishly on luxury items, businesses, and travel. Lyle bought Chuck's Spring Street Café, a Buffalo wing restaurant in Princeton, New Jersey, as well as three Rolex watches and a Porsche Carrera sports car. Erik hired a full-time tennis coach and competed in a series of tournaments overseas. The brothers eventually left the Beverly Hills mansion unoccupied, choosing to live in adjoining condominiums in nearby Marina del Rey. They also dined extravagantly and took overseas trips to the Caribbean and London. Collectively, they spent approximately $700,000 before their arrests."

      @Shayne_T incorrect, it's irrational to want anything less than the death penalty for these monsters. Just because someone treats you bad doesn't give you the right to murder them if it's not self defense Plymouth going to tell me that their Father was so horrible that he sent Lyle to Princeton after the brothers were arrested for a theft ring in Calabasas. The Father was a womanizer and cheating on his wife with another woman and was raping his 18 and 21 year old sons up to a week before the murders? Lyle and Erik drove 3 hours each way to San Diego to get 2 shotguns and put 15 rounds into their parents, cleaned up the crime scene, got rid of the shotguns that were never found, lied about the murders, THEN went on. $3M spending spree and it wasn't about the money? We're you awake or even alive during these trials? I'll tell you what happened, Erik came out of the closet, the parents found out that the brothers were involved in an incestuous relationship and they were mad that it would put a stain on the Menendez family name. The spoiled brats went to go "show them" by murdering their own Mother and Father that gave them the grand life on easy street and got caught. Where are the police or doctor reports to prove the years of abuse? Why didn't they simply run away? Nobody held a gun to their head to force them to stay. That nest egg of millions and the thirst of greed kept them there and not even their parents were going to stand in their way. These are undeniable FACTS that are very well documented. Educate yourself!

    Talk about family members in COMPLETE DENIAL ! Why didn't they help them before the murders if they cared so much ?
    The parents of these monsters got a death sentence !!!! Alot of children are abused, but they don't kill their parents !!!!

      you clearly have no idea whatever you're on about...they didnt know the depths of the events that were occurring at the time. not to mention, half of them were kids then or not in correctly dynamical status to hold a convo with the monsters that those parents were. just because many abused children dont kill their parents doesnt excuse the fact that it IS self defense, and ending this chain of abuse is far more compatible than your insinuation that innocent lives must endure the hell of child abuse endlessly

      With that last sentence are you still defending the disgusting parents? 🧐
      What were the family members gonna do when the father had all that money and status to cover it up? There are relatives who suspected the SA and asked the mother what was going on but she shut those family members down and punished the boys for talking to others about it. Erik confessed to Lyle not long before the murders occurred and when Lyle confronted his father and threatened to expose him, his father intimated them by insinuating HE was going to kill them, to cover up what he'd been doing to them. They were afraid. They thought it was kill or be killed.

      In the video when the aunt spoke about people being more educated in this day and age about how that type of trauma at that young age affects the brain and people's decisions, clearly you're one of the fools who still won't pick up a book to educate yourself on trauma and mental health.

      @@cindyfall8063 you just be like over 40 years old but I could be wrong and that’s alright with me.
      Umm YES they have served time and deserve to be released. It’s time the system failed them. Mandated reporters Teachers medical doctors and anyone that knew but did nothing all failed them. The abuse happened and unless you have been abused you have no clue how victims survive and react to abuse.
      I’m glad soon they will be released soon bc it will happen.
