*I bought this model for my 14 ft Jon boat. **enjoyable.fishing** recommend love it!!! It pushes my boat with ease ( 2 men 220 each). I would highly recommend this to anyone.*
Very good job! You made me cringe at 6:19, watch those fingers bud! I know some times you gotta make do with the tools you got around you, but I was thinking a hole saw attachment for drill vs using a router/file would have been easier for the rod holders. Good fishing!
There are alot of diy ideas on you tube in how to build your own canoe trolling motor mount, which seem decent and simple enough, but I was wondering is there a specific reason as to why they are all made to mount off the side of the canoe rather than straight out the back of the canoe? Just easier to build or something to do with performance or something? Thanks
I think one would struggle to reach that far back to the handle of the motor. And if you sit that far back, you would destroy the weight distribution of the canoe (even in this video, you can see the canoe would benefit from the crew sitting a bit further forward - to avoid the 'nose up' attitude of the canoe, and increase speed or efficiency).
Hey that turned out great! I love the rod holder idea. Great action shots at the end as well.

6:20 had me on the edge of my seat
Fun to watch! very ingenious. This is an example of form following function.
Looks great man!!!
I just did the same exact build for my canoe!

Where are the "cup holders" ?
Good video! How many pounds of thrust is that electric and how fast are you able to go? Thx mate
Put your drill on No1 to screw screws and use a magnetic bit extension but nice job, going to make one myself.
muy bueno ...te lo voy a copiar 👍👍👍

nice work dude!!! :) tx for the video!!!!
Sick build
what are the advantages to having a motor mount over simply mounting the motor on one hull of the canoe?
Go Blue!
great idea - - thanks - - did something similar
Hey random question.... how long will the motor go for during one day before it’s outta juice ?
So far I’ve been able to be out all day of moderate boating and anchoring to fish/swim without any problems of running out of juice.
Probably about 4 hours but that all depends on the battery amp hours . Definitely get a bigger battery .
I love the part where you show us how to drill through your fingers! - - what, you didn't do that? - - (I did - - once't - - just once)
Files are directional
EXAMPLE - - kids are watching - - - PFD whilst STANDING in canoe???
