This Border Patrol Agent should run the entire agency. When the driver legally refused to answer questions, the agent didn't overreact or infringe on the driver's rights. Instead, he maintained his composure and did his job professionally. He should train all LE officers. Give this man a promotion!

I answered several of the Agent's questions. I'm doing my job making Documentary Films and providing different perspectives.
this clearly is no hate on the officer himself (people take objectional jobs when times are tough), but rather an objection to the unconstitutional checkpoints which can be up to 100 miles away from the US border with mexico.
why is it necessary to tell a federal agent where you are going and where you are coming from? who do they catch by knowing that? Why is it that he was looking into his car like that before letting him go? these checkpoints are for drugs more than they are for catching people who are here illegally.

It should be noted that if this was a highway patrolman, you would be required in most states to show him your DL, because driving is a state privilege. But since he’s a Federal cop, it’s none of his business if you’re licensed or not.

I've passed through that check point many times. Usually you just them you're an American citizen and it's a done deal. You're fortunate that they didn't have you pull over, shut off the car and sit in the heat for an 1/2 hour or so.

I always cooperate with CBP as I am a Canadian citizen and have no rights except to call my nearest consulate but I have never had a problem with the officers and they usually return my license and say "have a nice day "
Driver licenses don't demonstrate a person's Right to remain in the United States and Rights generally extend to the people from the country which they are in at the time and not from their country of origin.

So is Airport security also an infringement of your rights? They probably have these checkpoints for a reason (illegal immigrants, drug smuggling ect...), I doubt the U.S. Government would spend so much money if this didn't produce results. The officer was perfectly polite and it's no chip off your shoulder to simply answer the question. What does this achieve? The 5th amendment isn't going to disappear if you co-operate.

I answered the Agent's question 4 times before he understood what I said. The only answers he took in were the ones I said I wasn't saying.
Still nothing mattered in the first place since his Supervisor motioned him to wave me along.
The Supreme Court allows this Stop for Immigration purposes, yet the primary purpose of CBP is fighting Terrorism and that's why Agents work so hard to get people's windows rolled down so the can conduct a Radiation Check.
At one Stop I had Agents smash into my car and conduct an illegal search of my trunk where a Police Officer sent a picture of a movie prop badge to the Terrorism Liaison Office. While I remained in CBP custody for 10 hours they conjured up a fake Whistleblowing Agent and along with an CheckpointUSA.org Astroturfing Terry Bressi, the directed me to an ACLU Lawyer under their thumb to further investigate me and feed me false information.

I'm trying to supplement my retirement income with the video's Ad Revenue after the U.S. Border Patrol and Terrorism Liaison Office maliciously sabotaged my career.
Their illegal search and seizure is responsible for reducing my salary to 60% till I'm 65.
The CBP said they'd cover my damages and the only suggestion I got was a $200,000 per year bribe to work with Law Enforcement making "Absurd Theater" videos and a recommendation to keep quiet about the ACLU Lawyer the the Terrorism Liaison Office directed me to.
After rejecting that suggestion I suspect they sabotaged 15 years of website work along with my girlfriend's job.

In this case I do not have enough information to know whether or not what you are saying is accurate, if there was an actual illegal search and seizure, the reason for a search and seizure is there was one, etc. It seems a bit silly to be posting this kind of information in a RUclips comment, as well, it seems sillier to be supplementing any form of income with these types of videos when your time could be used in more lucrative means of work.

Why is it only a problem when your rights get in the way? The real problem is that there are these stops in the first place and the fact that you and others view exercising your rights as a "problem". Your rights are like muscles, if you don't exercise them they weaken over time.

I completely judged a book by it's cover. I first watched the video of only the angle looking at that agent directly. I was mad at first because the guy was pleasant. I wanted to leave an angry comment. Then I watched this video and completely changed my stance. You shouldn't have had to stop to begin with and now I understand why you do this.

I am always cooperative with the police during a traffic stop. I will admit that I spend a little extra time searching through my glove compartment looking for my registration and insurance card and a few extra minutes trying to find my drivers license. I always get into a friendly conversation with the officer and orchestrate the detention to last as long as possible. You see, the longer that officer is standing outside my car, the more a distracted or inattentive driver is likely to come along and send that officer who is standing outside my car 50 feet into the air.
