    Scotty Kilmer - I bought this stuff because of you - I had a decent leak from my rear main seal in my 1988 Ford F150. It would drip the whole time you were driving. I put this stuff in early this morning - drove my truck to the landfill, and when i got back - IT DIDN'T LEAK A DROP. I wiped the bottom of the bellhousing off before I left, and when i got home - it was bone dry. I really wasn't expecting it to work completely, I was just hoping that it would slow the leak down a bit so my oil use wasn't so bad. But this stuff works and I 100% will recommend it to everyone. Thank you so much for sharing this secret. There is no way i would have ever trusted the snake oil stuff that is sold at Autozone, etc.. When you did a video about it, I knew it had to be good. THANKS AGAIN!

    Thank you, thank you, thank you Scotty. I have 2003 S-10 ZR2 that had leaky rear main seal. Just enough to be irritating but knew it would eventually get worse. Couple years ago tried a product made by Rislone with no improvement. Saw this video of yours while looking for fix for a different problem and took a chance. Amazon got it to me in 3 days. Put it in the engine that had fairly fresh oil and after three days and around 100 miles of driving, NO MORE LEAK. Put the skid plates back on a week ago and checked the top side of them today and still dry as a bone. Saved me around $1000 I guesstimate. AWESOME! You are the MAN!

    This stuff is amazing. Had a oil leak from rear main seal that would leave a 4inch spot overnight. I tried using that Lucas oil stop stuff and it did no good. So I poured in a bottle of ATP AT-205 when I changed the oil. It took a week of driving but the leak is gone! Also had a squeaking issue from worn bushings in my rear control arms. Bought another bottle of this stuff and put in spray bottle and sprayed it on all the bushings. Again it took about a week of driving but the squeaking is gone. This stuff is the bomb.

    @ the cap being on the bottle during the demo. he said near the end "this transmission seal has already stopped leaking and its only been an hour". considering the video was not an hour long it was most likely done like a cooking video. He first put the AT-205 resealer (note its not a stop leak but an actual resealer) then began the recording with the necessary steps (left the cap on to prevent adding more) just to demo the steps then like a cooking video cut to the end result. trying this on my firebird small rear seal leak!

      I put the ATP-205 Re-Seal in my Mom's used 1982 Ford Granada, with a 3.3 Liter, inline 6.. after a CLEAN oil change.. I 'worked' for a few hours, and after a good 5+ hour run, it was leaking!! It appears, the rear main seal was in bad shape. Problem..... I don't have the $3,500 or more money to have the engine properly rebuilt! The engine, had rolled over several times, as I remember it was rolling 0000000 (It's a Ford with no extra 0) about 10 to 12 times.. The engine was built in Canada.. So, the maple syrup is now long gone. I took a chance, thought it was fixed, but, I need prayer support, and some kind soul to spot me a loan or 'grant' of $3,500 dollars.. I know a Certified Auto Repair shop in Gatesville, TX that will do the job, yet if I have to get a shop/repair credit card at 30% interest, then I guess that will work. My 1990 Buick LeSabre Limited is at the shop, waiting for a total remanufacture of the Speedometer Console Instrument at approx/ballpark, $650+ dollars!

    Hi Scotty, I follow your RUclips channel a while ago, I am mechanical weekend, I entertain myself fixing my car, a Honda Accord 1990 manufactured in USA, I am from Chile, the Honda are not rare in this corner of the world. I followed several of your tips and information, of which I can say they are very accurate and real. Buy the liquid to seal, I followed the directions on how to remove the oil lost to the liquid polymer, you recommend in this video. I had an oil leak by the seal of the distribution, follow package instructions, must add that the loss was not small, 1 hour after the loss was reduced almost completely. According to the instructions are some days they stay all sealed. Best of all is that I save a lot of money and time, You know how long and complicated it is this repair.
    So I can only thank for this and other tips, thank you very much.

Anyway they told me that it needs two seals the main one and the rear one too. They want $2189 to fix it. The parts only cost 25.98 & 27.90. After seen this video I’m going to try AT-205. 4 bangers its easy as can be...6s and 8s can be harder...my front one?easy as can be...back one?had to take the intake off to get to it(did the plugs and wires while I was at it)which meant new intake gasket as well.

    Well.......I took Scotty's advice on this subject. Scenario: After driving all day in my 2000 Corolla, I park it in the carport; 1 hour later there is a good sized transmission fluid leak on the driveway. I bought some AT-205 Re-seal (ATP). Then (with a measure of skepticism) poured it into the transmission. I drove the car around for a couple of hours in the 108 degree Arizona heat. And sure enough, the leak stopped cold. Additionally, although the leak initially looked bad, after checking the dipstick with the engine running, it turned out that the fluid level was still healthy. Unquestionably, this stuff does work and works well!!!

      @Verticom10 7 лет назад +1

      a gasket in liquid-ish form

    • @drizler
      @drizler 6 лет назад

      Old cars tend to have gaskets that got brittle with heat and age. Some of the newer stuff has decent silicone gaskets that actually last. Sadly most old pan gaskets just need replacing which isn’t hard. You can try tightening them up slightly but it likely as not won’t work or leak more.
      Sometimes form a gasket can plug up a leak but it’s rare. Some thing just need new period. If you do use that stuff on a new gasket use sparingly only where they say to and make sure the pan and engine mating surfaces are clean. Use too much of that wondergoo form gasket and let a drop squeeze inside it can get free and will get stuck someplace and think engine heart attack. Good stuff but no replacement for new on those sort of gaskets. Permatex is more of an additional sealant, use with care.
      If you’re trying to fix a rough or rust pitted casting try YAMMABOND sealer. The price will bring you to tears but it will do what regular Permatex just won’t touch. Truly amazing stuff.

    Time will tell for how long; when it does let-go, I can go back in and do the rear-main or front-tranny seal - and do a clutch at the same time; (I used it in the crankcase as well as the manual gearbox of each car); for now, it is saving me a lot of grief and holding up really well with nary a drip.
