Hi Davie, It's very interesting version of this well known fly. I will try it for a rainbows in our reservoirs, I think it will work. I also know another version suite for spring salmon on Kola Peninsula. It tied on 2" copper tube, wing is usual for this fly. But its body tied from dull and dark green silk, a front hackle is from guinea fowl dyed kingfisher blue. It seems to me an intermediate version between all traditional Willie Gun and its icelandic sister you present here.
Nice colorful fly Davie, used to use similar on the Humber here on the Rock years ago for the big ones and excellent fly. All salmon fishers here now use barbless, regulation, and most small rivers are closed due to high water temps and low water plus not many fish! mother nature not putting out much good fishing weather this season, worst one ever for me! ...cheers
Hi Brian Dyer, I'm glad you enjoy the videos and thank you for the kind words...I have attached a link to the Bobbin Holder that I use, it's the heavy duty version which allows me to use a floss or yarn if I need to as well as thread.. All the very best Davie... www.fullingmill.co.uk/Products-UK/Tiemco-UK/Ceramic-Bobbin-HD-Straight-Black-UK
Hi Henry, I have never used the magic head on flies I have tyed though I do like the idea behind them as they do make the fly swim really well... All the very best Davie

Amazing colors, that's art. I'll try to tie that just to put on my fishing hat.
Greetings from Iceland. Nice fly

Love the videos David. Quick question, what kind of bobbins do you use and where can I find them? Tight lines

Have ever tried to put "Magic Head" on your fly?
How do you think about the ""magic head"?
Thanks!
