So helpful - thank you!! Just confirming, do all rooms have bare floors or are some carpeted? Shopping today with my son who moves in soon and wondered if we should get a rug...
She had applied in January for the September semester and we didn’t find out until the last week of August. She would recommend applying in October for the following year(September)
Great video! I'm also going to be in PJ this September! Question: how much luggage/how many boxes of things did your daughter bring to university? I feel like I'm bringing way too much lol
Tabatha Mason LOL. Well let’s just say we had to rent a storage locker to store her stuff over the summer. If you want to see what she brought when she moved in here’s the video when we were packing her stuff to bring. We managed to fit in a car. Pretty full but we did it. I think in the end when we moved her out she had 6 bins of things plus a couple suitcases. I recommend putting everything in bags though because you won’t have anywhere to store the bins in your room. When we move her in this fall we’re going to bring the bins back with us so she doesn’t have to store them. ruclips.net/video/vC0zEAtoaD0/видео.html
sarah Mitha Oh good. Glad it was helpful. Each floor is divided in half. So when you come off the elevators there’s a section to the left and one to the right. I think there’s about 10-12 rooms per section? Something like that. So there’d be about 10-12 people sharing the bathrooms. My daughter never said it was ever busy or that she had to wait. I think because everyone is on a different schedule its not busy at a certain time of day. It’s also a co Ed building. (Guys and girls) There are some co Ed floors but she was on an all girl floor. Hope this helps.
My bad... that’s what I thought my husband had originally said. It’s more like $75. It’s in Burnaby about 20mins from campus. Sorry for the wrong info.
Nawsheen Tabassum Well I’m not a student, just a mom but from what my daughter has said about it it sounds good. It’s a quieter campus compared to other universities but it’s nice. There has been a lot of construction going on there and that won’t be stopping anytime soon. Some class sizes range from 30 people to 500+. She loved the Towers and compared to her new residence for 2019 which is older, she actually wishes she was back in the Towers. She loved this room of hers. There’s a lot of walking but it’s nice that everything is on top of the hill all in one area. There a grocery store (Nesters) and little restaurants, A&W, Cali burger etc at one end of the campus. She has always felt safe there. Overall it’s been a great experience for her.
Lady J gaviola Yes. You have to apply each year. For first year to get into the room you see on the video she was on a waiting list all summer and we didn’t find out she had her room until near the end of August. You have that room all year but then you have to apply again for the next year. It can be stressful.
MyLittlePinkCottage ohh my.i can tell how much stressful it could get.from waiting up to moving in and out.i wonder how am I to assist my son in moving in and out when we live across the country😢 anyways thank u so much for this information.such a huge help.
Lady J gaviola Yes we were living down in Washington state during all this. It was very stressful but it worked out. The towers is a nice building. They’re building 3 more just like it. Not sure when construction will be done. There is a lot of construction on campus.
MyLittlePinkCottage oh.does the construction causes noises?and by the way,if student prefer to stay during summer at the residence would they allow it?or u have to leave the campus residence during summer vacation?thanx 😚
