      Good soldering iron like the Hakko, Goot etc with temperature control, good bits makes it possible. We in India know only the Solderon brand. There is something called low melt solder which eases the melting process too. This low melt soldering lead is different to what we generally use.

    I understand that your device is designed for computer repair services, but you could think, even in your interest, to widen the target of buyers by creating a low price subscription for the reset function useful for the hobbyist, but not with the professional, e.g. 1 reset for month (or 1 every two months) ?
    As far as I understand it is only a matter of software (you do not have hardware expenses to provide this service), so it is highly scalable, which for you means pure gain if the offer does not affect purchases by professionals.
    I tell you this because the product is very attractive to us nerds, but the professional subscription is a big deterrent . The 10 days of free reset are a step on the right way, but a bit anxious and in any case does not justify the expence. Good work!

    • @nipembedded9976

      It is not so simple. Since other software costs 1000$ I would way 249$ is good for most customers.

    Loved it. I have an old dead laptop battery for a Toshiba L510 that I've wanted to fix for a while. However, I've taken the pack apart and disconnected the cells from the PCB. I've left it alone for about a year now. Would it be possible to interface with the PCB after having left it disconnected from any power source for as long as I have? Is there any chance of reprogramming the onboard chip or will the volatile memory be gone and the battery has no chance of refurbishment?

    • @nipembedded9976
      @nipembedded9976  Год назад +2

      If the chip was unlocked (no PF set) before disconnecting the cells, then everything should be fine after reconnecting the cells. If it was locked then there is no way to unlock it, you will need our NLBA1 device to unlock it. Note that there is a fuse on the PCB, in some cases the chip blows it up and it has to be fixed.

    The best programming trick: discharge in Windows 10x, and discharge once in Bios. When the battery becomes stronger by repeatedly doing this, new performance and energy saving features turn on, they are off by default, so it is good to do it with brand new laptops, too. When you sometimes use devices with full lcd backlight and full power, a little coil deliberately discharges to enhance the battery. Same with phones and power banks. The coil turns on using legal Sim card for net once.

    • @nipembedded9976
      @nipembedded9976  2 года назад +2

      Most of replacing batteries are bad quality, recycling an original battery with original cells will make the battery working as a brand new original one.
      There are many new slim and flat batteries which are locked because the cells are over-discharged (stored a long period without charging), such batteries can be repaired by pre-charging the cells to about 3000mV and resetting the chip.

    For 350USD I could buy 5-7 original brand new battery for my laptop. Useless tool.

      @@Ravenola 1. The tool is a PRO tool like tons of other PRO tools used in the repairing industry. Your comparison is out of scope.
      2. Okay, which is cheaper, repairing 30 x 2022 Apple Macbook battery or buying 30 x New Original Apple Macbook battery ? You can replace 30 with 1000 or 10000, there are no limits in the number of batteries.

    I think this is an interesting product! BUT you have to change or add the license model, so that it can attract more customers! There are 3 sorts of potentially customers: 1: Big Laptop Repair Centers (as there cant be many left I guess, the laptop market is decraising). 2:Smaller Computer Repar Shops. 3: DIY enthusiats.
    The License model is way to costly for group 2 and 3. (People write $199 but it looks like it now costs $249, so wrong direction). Smaller reair shops dont repair many batteries - the sell new batteries or new computers to the customers, its a better deal for both. End customers dont have knowledge of different quality but are suspect to repaired batterys, also the time of labour is to costly in most Western countries.
    So I see group nr 3 (the Enthuiasts) as the biggest possible customer community for the future. They dont make money on their hobby, so its allready a big investment to buy the hardware, just for experimenting och there own pile of laptops an mayby helping som relatives. BUT they should be a welcome addition to the community, because the dont count the time spent and could share the findings so that the Database will increase, to benefit for all!
    Of course there should not be free licenses - But an addition of a License for Personal Use is needed. It could be a (much) lower annual fee, or preferably a license where you pay for some amount of uses, lets say 15 or 30. then you have to buy another set. That way I beleive it will benefit both users and also your business!

      You make some good points. The small user license can be good for customers and businesses. As you and others have pointed out, it depends on the target market for this device. It would appear that the business owner is not interested in the occasional hobbyist that would probably choose to use brand batteries ( like Samsung ). The problem is that this device is likely being used by battery refurbishers that flood the market with inferior batteries that last at best a few months and have ridiculously specced capacity ratings. It seems that this business seller is not too worried about that.

      @@nipembedded9976 My comment was not about the originality of the chipset. I am talking about the use of non-branded cells, not the container battery itself. I hoped that was obvious from my comment. I refer to Samsung batteries, just substitute that for cells, and hopefully it will make sense to you
