      @@nipembedded9976 How about selling it fairly, and widening your product range so that you don't have to rely on ripping everyone off to make a living? The problem you're going to have some point soon is that you've made your kit so expensive that soon enough it will be cloned, and sold for a fraction of your price. Then you'll have no sales. I for one won't be sad if your unfair practice comes to an end. As someone else mentioned in the comments, your methodology of subscription based sales is against pretty much everything that the right to repair movement is fighting for.

    I've stopped using mine. The software is installed on my workbench PC, which out of necessity I often need to use for emergency spares for customer machines etc. Even though the mainboard and processor remain the same, if you change your disk or reload Windows NLBA lock my device and I have to request them to unlock it again. They are slow to do this and complain when I make the request. It's a fantastic product, but they need to find a better way to deal with this issue. Until then, I will not be renewing the license.

      @@nipembedded9976 You should try to automate this process as much as possible to avoid the need for manual intervention, just like the Windows activation process or even other 3rd-party softwares, like Lightburn. Ask the user to create an account and associate the user with that license/hardware configuration. Upon logon, the user can update the actual hardware. Limit the update for once a month (for example). Force the software to connect to the internet on startup (or, at least, do it once and keep the licence on cache for a week or so). These are just some ideas that others have implemented to take care of that. Cheers!!

    Useful but expensive tool - I have mine now since a few months: In most of the times after I tried to recalibrate the old battery, I had to exchange it with a new compatibel one - and one needs to be careful which brand to choose. To repair (cell exchange) is a no go in western (i.e. hight labour costs) countries. No doubt its excellent technology - so I spent the money to exclude a battery defect if a laptop or charging shows issues. No argues about the technical value of the device and the efforts and high skills of its inventor - but in high labour costs countries its obvious that one can´t regain its price. (You might buy it for service reasons if you can/want afford it.) Yes, it makes sense in other countries (low labour costs) were one can operate in a niche market to "repair" and recell old batteries.

    • @nipembedded9976
      @nipembedded9976 6 месяцев назад +1

      There are many different types of battery defects. We have a lot of customers in the USA, Germany, Uk where labor costs are high. They are not replacing the cells, they are repairing in 3 clicks those batteries that are just over discharged (stored for a long period). There are companies that have thousands of new Genuine batteries just over discharged, paying 269$ for 1 year worth to repair them ? No need to open the battery, no need to replace the cells. According to our logs, our customers repair more than 1000 batteries per year.

    Seems pretty pointless ngl. It's still like $300 on their website and even if it was $75, why spend $75 plus the price of a new battery when you can just buy a new battery and be done with the repair. 99% of battery problems are a dead or unbalanced cell, not a controller problem. You can jump the battery with a power supply if you really wanted to be cheap and cause more damage via expanding cells or fire, or just replace it with a good battery for $25-40. Not to mention that bypassing a battery lockout like that will land you in deep legal trouble if you hand it back to a customer like that and it causes any damage. No amount of liability waiver will help you in that case, because you're intentionally, and knowingly bypassing a safety device.
    Not that I'm saying there's a significantly higher risk of issues by doing this, just that all batteries that exist, even brand new ones, have a risk of igniting or exploding. By bypassing their lockout, you are now absorbing all liability if that happens. The new battery might explode as well, but you as a business have done your due diligence and are absolved of liability.

      @@nipembedded9976 I know. The analyzer is another large fee. It's basically just a power supply that is useless without a subscription. Waay too much and reoccurring for its main function. Now if there were a pricing model option for, say, $2 an unlock, I might be inclined to do that sort of thing. It'd be good for the company in the long run as well.

    As I posted in a previous video regarding this device, anything needing a subscription for hardware that one has purchased is just scummy. The way you go overboard to praise it just makes it look like you're being paid to promote it. If they locked the battery data when you purchased it, then sold updates for newer batteries, that's one thing, but to keep demanding money for kit one has already paid for is reprehensible.

    Personally, I have few batteries to fix with me as well but no way I am paying that much money for the yearly subscription.

    250 USD per year is very expensive and the comments here of buyers are not positive..... Personally I hate hardware with subscriptions. It is a terrible evolution. It's like buying a BMW with heated seats and then paying a subscription to enable the feature. It is very anti-repair in the sense that pro-repair people tend to assume you own the hardware (including the right to repair) after you paid for it.
