I'm so glad you listened to this song as your first from Smokey Robinson and the Miracles. This is the creme de la creme! You can hear the pain and the longing in Smokey's voice as he's begging for another chance with the woman he lost for not doing right. I would highly suggest you listen to "Tracks of my Tears" next.
In case you haven’t reacted, check out Smokey Robinson’s “Cruisin” you’ll be adding that one to the playlist too. That’s a baby making song! He wrote many of songs that made Motown Records a household name forever! Living legend!!!
A song from my era!!!! Smokey is the premier songwriter, poet and producer!!! Fellas he wrote “My Girl”!!!!!! He’s the GOAT!!!!! He still sounds the same!!
Listen. This is my favorite song. It’s one song that I’m afraid to die and never hear it ever again. Thank you, boys, for playing this one and discussing it just for me.
Smokey is the best! I’ve been a fan from a pre-teen to a senior citizen (Motown, the Miracles, etc.) Saw him three years ago at Ravinia, ‘wow’ (he’s still got it). A prolific songwriter , the smoothest voice, with melodies that “let the music take your mind” … Thanks for the reaction! Please add “More Love “ to your Smokey list! 🥰
Hello Twins, Nice choice for your introduction to the smooth and mellow Mr. Smokey Robinson. He is a living legend or as you all say the goat.🥇So many musical gems he has written, produced and song. After his leaving the Miracles and going solo he made some good duets. Check out one by him and Rick James called "Ebony Eyes."✌🏾💜
Motown music… So many great performers so many great songs, Smokey was there in the beginning, one of the creators of Motown along with Barry Gordy. Can’t go wrong with Motown sound
Berry Gordy wrote for Jackie Wilson. Smokey Robinson wanted to give Jackie Wilson a few songs. Barry Gordy gave him a chance when others didn't think that his songs were any good. Smokey Robinson said that he looked for the song writers name on each record. That's a good idea. Did you see Motown on Broadway or the Kennedy Center Honors? I have been to the Motown museum. It was amazing.
@@VIsidore BErry Gordy wrote songs for Detroiter Jackie Wilson....it was BG's songs for JW that got him recognition and the minimal royalty checks for these hits that persuaded Berry to start Motown.
It has to be ,tracks of my tears' by smokey and the miracles. Great song being of a certain age I remember the famous scene in the film Platoon when the soldiers were singing it . Happy Christmas to you both
Ooh Baby Baby! I enjoyed how you sang along with the song, "Baby, Baby" Love it! You can't go wrong when it comes to Smokey Robinson! You need to listen to more of him! "I Second That Emotion", "You've Really Got a Hold on Me", "The Track of My Tears", "Shop Around" just to start you off at least! Merry Christmas to you and your family! Peace. ✌☮🎄
Smokey was smooth. That’s the most perfect description. He exemplifies, personifies “smooth”, his picture should be in the dictionary for its definition. ♥️
Smokey is fantastic. He was before my time, but my mom loves him so hearing him growing up, I love him too. He is the epitome of class and smooth! Try “Cruisin” next.
Yessir! Smokey makes everything better, and you need more in your life. "Tears of a Clown." "I Second that Emotion." "Shop Around." "The Tracks of My Tears." "You've Really Got a Hold on Me." Those are just with the Miracles. Solo? "Baby Come Close." "Being with You." "Cruisin'" (this one is a MUST). "Quiet Storm." "The Agony and the Ecstasy." Also, "Ebony Eyes," which he did with Rick James.
I’m melting hearing Smokey’s voice! 🔥 Merry Christmas 🎄 and so glad you’re better!! I would suggest with the Miracles: Goin’ to a GoGo Solo Smokey: Cruisin’
