I was literally just listening to Smokey. This is one of my favorites by him. Another one that I love (and that you should check out😉) is "Tears of a Clown". You should also react to D'Angelo's remake of "Cruisin' ". His is a remake worth hearing.

He also recorded this song in Spanish. It was a double hit. I saw him live back in the 80s. I couldn't believe the diversity of the crowd. The cowboys in their western hats, brothers and sisters dressed up, low riders, all ages, all types of people. It was a lot of fun when he sang this live in both languages.

Smokey Robinson is not only an incredible talent, he’s an amazing person. He’s my childhood friend’s godfather and when they found out how big of fans my mom and dad were, he not only invited them to his concert, he sent a limo to pick them up, got them backstage passes and spent the evening with them after. They got to watch the whole show from the stage. Made my parents whole decade 💜
There's not one bad song of Smokey's. He just don't disappoint and probably one of the best songwriters there is. Musical Genius

I remember years ago a radio DJ did Flashback Fridays. He played this and was having a good time so he played it a second time back to back. Someone called in mad. He said screw it, this is my show, check this out. He played it fir almost an hour after that call. Him and the producer got in trouble but it was iconic!

I grew up in the Detroit area and loved Motown music, especially Smokey Robinson. In 1987 my husband bought tickets to a concert in the round with Smokey. He found out that if I had flowers and approached the stage, Smokey might invite me up, so he bought a bouquet and pushed me toward the stage. Smokey invited me up and sang Cruisin' to me. I was so star struck and nervous, I was shaking the whole time! Later, I went to his trailer and he autographed his book for me. Best birthday ever!
