Shark Vertex Review (The Secret Is The Roller!)

- The Shark Vertex Vacuum- amzn.to/2OoXshQ claims "no more hair wrap" on the roller. That's a tall order- and I test it out! They also claim the Vertex DuoClean has the strongest suction of any vacuum. And I can tell you it is the most powerful vacuum I have ever owned. To save money check out the AZ2000 model- bit.ly/SharkVertex which doesn't include the Pet Power Brush (useful if your pets get on the furniture).

I love my Shark too! I never thought listening to someone talk about a vacuum for over 12 minutes could be so interesting, but you definitely made it so. I think Shark should hire you! I hope you are feeling okay. When you get a chance, please update us.
That's such a nice compliment- thank you! I am feeling much better now that chemo is done. Will have an update video ready soon!
@@parristx I'm so glad to hear you are feeling better. I am looking forward to your update. Please take good care and be well and keep on vacuuming!
A sealed system with a HEPA filter is not easy to find at the $300-$400 range. I’m impressed they offer it at all on the Shark.
👍👍
I am totally sold upon watching this review. I used your affiliate link because I think you deserve credit for this video. Hope all is well!
Thanks so much Amber! Our Shark Vertex is holding up great and we use it all the time.
That roller is the same reason I got my current vacuum to it works pretty good and I only had to clean it once to remove built up dust around the walls of it so it's far as hair goes it does its job I love it
It really does work well!
Nice backdrop :) they missed the opportunity to call the canister the shark tank.
👍👍
I like vaccuming one spot then dumping and vacuuming the same spot again to see how much more it picked up
Good idea!
Great review! We had an NV801 from six years ago that I called about getting some replacement parts for, and instead they are sending me the AZ2000 as a complete replacement. Can’t wait to try it, and yes I’m excited about a new vacuum!
I just received mine and love it! You forgot to show how the crevice and upholstery tools also connect the hose part if you don’t have room for the long wand. All tools are interchangeable with the wand and hose. I was amazed and how much better it worked than the smaller stick type shark without the rollers. My back loves the roller motion because it so much easier to work with!! Definitely recommend!! And great video!! Thank you.! 🙏
Thank you so much! I just bought this model.
I'm so happy I found it for $133. It was on clearance for some reason. It said original price of $320.
Don't you just love how it actually pulls the hair to it!? I have this vacuum and it Pretty much gets abused every time I use it. I have 45 house cats and the hair everywhere is crazy. This vacuum is better than any thing I've ever used both professionally and personally!
Glad you like it too Trish! I imagine that many house cats would really put it to the test. I vacuumed out our minivan for the first time in a long time and had to empty the dustbin halfway through. It really picks everything up!
I have 75... You need to catch up lady
It took me about 3 weeks of research before deciding between 2 vacuums last year. One had the lift off canister, one had the super extensible hose. I watched so many videos to figure out the pros/cons of each model.
I'm like this with everything I buy. Its never a simple decision.
You're looking well Parris. Hope you're doing ok. 😊
I tend to over-research things too. But it is good to have at least one person like that in each family. 😊 I am feeling much better- one month post chemo. Will be doing an update video soon!
@@parristx will look forward to it. Glad to her you're feeling well!
That's exactly what I'm doing right now parris tx doing my research since there on sale on the shark website ☺️
That's exactly what I'm doing right now fizzy965 since there on sale on the shark website right now ☺️
I could easily make enough money to buy 2 of something(shark & Dyson. Laser engraver & cnc machine... Workkos & olight), in the amount of time I spend deciding which ONE to buy
Thumbs up. Good video. I have 2 Shark vacuums and love them. I was thinking about getting this one because I hate untangling the hair under the roller. I think I’ll purchase my third Shark on payday!
Thanks! It is still working great for us and we still haven't had to clear hair off the roller.
Very satisfied with any shark I’ve bought, recommend to several people! Cleans as well as my Miele!
Nice! We continue to be happy with ours as well.
Wow!!! Can't sneak up on someone with that. How are you feeling? I'm glad you guys didn't freeze solid or end up in those pileups.
We got off relatively easy- power was out for just 24 hours so no burst pipes. I am feeling much better now- one month post chemo. Will have an update video ready soon!
Hmmm. Maybe I will get this for when I move out this month. 🤔
Edit: I hope you are doing good. 😁
Hope your move went well and you found a good vacuum.
@@parristx I haven't moved yet unfortunately but I will definitely give an update.
Cool review! Hope you're still liking it. I just ordered the AZ3000, which is the new Stratos line, an upright. It's supposed to be the next upgrade from the Vertex. FedEx has lost the package 😢 and I was supposed to get it yesterday. Hope they find and deliver it soon! And hope they didn't damage it
Hey again! We are still loving our Vertex- most recently used it to vacuum up all the broken glass from a tree branch falling through the rear window of my wife's car. It didn't break a sweat! You are lucky to be getting the new model- bet they have made it even better. Now if they can just get it to you. 🤣
@parristx I did finally get it. YAY!! It was a steal on Shark's website... only $299!! I haven't been able to use it yet, but I hope to this weekend. My husband was diagnosed with a terminal illness, so my focus shifted. I really enjoyed your video on the Vertex. After subscribing to your channel, I'm following your amazing health journey
Good review. I ordered one yesterday directly from Shark.
Great! I hope it works well for you.
@@parristx Is it safe to assume you still like it?
When cleaning the doormat, you need to use the high pile carpet setting, not the low pile setting. It is less powerful and won't lift the doormat as much, if at all.
Love your videos! Thanks for posting.
Thanks Hannah!
One of your wall outlets probably has reverse polarity, had all my outlets and switches replaced found many incorrect
it's pretty cool!
It has worked great for us!
I love my shark 🦈 vacuum 😍.
Ours is still going strong too!
I like the sealed vacuum system and hepa filter. But why does that matter when you have to empty the canister and dust goes everywhere?
We empty it outside into the trashcan so the dust doesn't get reintroduced to the house.
I love hoover vacuum but I'm trying this vacuum for the pet hair I have a kitty her hair be every where
Hey Pamela! Our Vertex is still going strong picking up dog hair. And still no tangles on the roller! 👍👍
how about that texas freeze, huh? moving from a much colder part of the country and into texas, i was told not to worry too much about winter. well, winter seemed to have followed me here, haha. i get my shark vertex on monday, i'm excited for it. i spent a lot of time researching vacuums, watching reviews, etc. i was thinking of getting a Sanitaire because of the direct air motor and the power of a commercial vacuum, but in the end it's not a complete sealed system with a hepa filter and so i wanted to find something with somewhat comparable power, hepa filtration, and a sealed system and under 500 bucks. i went with the vertex!
the lift away mode was also a deciding factor, along with the accessories and the ability to pick up cheerios and things like that with minimal snowplowing
Yes, they left the week-long sub-zero storms out of the travel brochure. We had a couple frozen pipes but fortunately the longest the power was out for us at one time was 24 hours.
I remember with toddlers Cheerios were everywhere. My kids are 17 and 20 now and we are still vacuuming up Cheerios! Hope you are pleased with your Vertex purchase. We are still loving ours.
I noticed your wand is blue.. i didn't get an option for the new az2000. They come in a gold wand
Hmm, supply chain issues? Though I don't remember choosing a color. Or maybe they have just changed the default color.
I just bought one today, and I love it! Selling my Dyson
Glad you like it so much!
Well after a family of use, im returning it, i hate cords!! Going cordless, lol
Why do so many people consider those to be the only options. When did it become shark or dyson. They both are GARBAGE
Why does nobody explain what that little brush thingy is on the bottom of the vacuum. What does it do, what is it for?
My understanding is that the fixed short bristles on the base of the vacuum are to knock loose dirt from the upper surface of carpets.
@@parristx
I think you’re referring to the long strip of bristles that run the length of the bottom of the vacuum.
What I’m actually talking about is in the middle of the vacuum there’s a little flapper looking thing either toggles back-and-forth about the size of a dime. It’s not present I Apex, it’s only there on the vertex. It’s got some bristles on it, no clue what that’s for?
It's there to prevent static electricity from building up when using the vacuum.
Can anyone tell me what the 2 lock and unlock is on the bottom above the rollers and the little brush looking thing hidden by the lock/unlock???? Nothing in the owners manual says what it is!
How has the vacuum held up over the last few months? Thanks for any info.
Yes, it is holding up well. I wondered how long the roller would last before needing a replacement but ours still keep the hair from accumulating. Best vacuum we have owned.
@@parristxYou can replace the front one but the not the internal. You have to replace the entire head because shark is a shit company that no one should buy so much as a fridge magnet from
Cool video tech talk lol yes
Thanks!
@@parristx your welcome
How much does it weigh in Lift Away mode? (canister + motor etc.?)
I don't have actually number but I'd get about the canister is about 6lbs
Well it's caramel or in Michigan speak carmel, or it's caribbean or Michigan ca-rib-bian, to us here it's crevice like creves. Lol spelling them like it sounds is harder than it seems.
Yes, I had to Google it to see both spellings.
@@parristx lol yeah, I check Google for spelling or medical advice when my anxiety needs to go way up.😁
doesn't it suck having to move things to properly vacuum? :S Looking down at the shoes and having to bend and pick stuff up or kick them out of the way haha... Ordered this vac today. Long coated german shedder and mud season coming.
It certainly does! This spring cleaning the goal is to get stuff off the floor. 🧹🧹
Sorry to break it to you.. but I think it sucks.
Turns out the vacuum also serves a hidden function of hair curling~
Power fin is a profoundly stupid design. Sure they work great on hard surfaces but they are useless for anything more than low pile carpet. They physically cannot agitate enough to pick up deeply imbedded dirt.
The secret to why it’s so bad is the rollers.
I HAVE THE SHARK VERYEX ❣️❤️🤍 IT'S THE BEST I'VE EVER OWNED. TY .
Agreed!
You clearly haven’t owned very many vacuums. Many good ones at leasy
