Bro literally same. That's crazy I feel like guys our age joining the regiment is rare. Wish you the best and hope you make it and we get to serve together
I am a US Army 95B Military Police Vet.. Yes, old enough to be your dad. I was trained at Fort McClellan, Alabama by Rangers and Green Berets. Only other Drill SGT I had was an MP. But this not about "The standard". I would like to know about daily PT (physical training). We did the two minutes of pushups / sit-ups and a three to five mile run, followed by wind sprints. Yes, pull ups made it into the routine but they are nothing. My question is the "Flutter kicks". Does that nasty thing still exist? Because I have done so many that if I were wearing Scuba flippers. I could have swam across the Atlantic Ocean.
Yes those blasted flutter kicks are still there in both RASP and Ranger school. Not fun with boots on and I can’t imagine flippers. But Ranger school loves Y-squats way more for whatever reason.
Hey man I’m curious is 40 miles a week combined with running and rucking not enough for rasp? I still have some time before I ship out for basic so I can definitely get that mileage up
That’s a good amount per week for sure! The main thing is being able to meet the standard. Some people need more miles some need less. I would time a 5 mile to see where you’re at, adjust from there but also listen to your body and don’t overdo it. You have time.
I heard from Jake Zweig youtube Channel a Navy Seal that trains people wanting to join Seals, Ranger and any other Spec Ops. Minimun you got to be running is 60 miles a week. And believe is not include Rucking, since Rucking is a whole other animal. Is not the same as running. Carrying Ruck on your back you stress different parts of your body, stressting the shoulders and back etc.
You'll take a Pre-RASP test to class up usually the APFT and then you'll take the RFT throughout the first 4 weeks of RASP ending with the 12 mile ruck into Cole Range.
My assumption is it’s the same test. However, for your information, passing the Pre-RASP test does not guarantee your spot into RASP. They only take the top PT scores so I would advise to train above the RASP standard.
Thanks for the heads up man im joining the amry rn to be a ranger at age 27 i appreciate the knowledge sir
Same here! I'm 26 and currently talking to recruiters for an 11X Opt40 contact
Same same but 30 lol was 0331 in the corps and moving over

Might as well keep it going! I’m 24 also currently talking to a recruiter for an Option 40 11X
@@tristingonzalez6242 It absolutely is. Rangers comparatively to other special operations groups are very young.
Great information music is too loud though.
The music is louder than you, that’s a problem.
Sorry man, the audio came out bad for some reason on this video!

There are lots of guys who enjoy a good hand release.
Haha

I can run 35 min 5 mile but I’m RUNNING. I’ll work on getting 35 min to a talking pace. Your videos are great btw
Thank you🙏

60 is too much. 30 is good. Jake said 30 is good.
Have you heard any chatter about the regiment expanding out into the National Guard?
Sorry no I haven’t. If it ends up happening I’ll definitely feature that!
As a nat guardsman, yes i hearved this is happening
When In Rasp is the PT test taken?
You'll take a Pre-RASP test to class up usually the APFT and then you'll take the RFT throughout the first 4 weeks of RASP ending with the 12 mile ruck into Cole Range.
so is this pre-rasp? Or will pre-rasp test still be 53 pushups and 63 situps
My assumption is it’s the same test. However, for your information, passing the Pre-RASP test does not guarantee your spot into RASP. They only take the top PT scores so I would advise to train above the RASP standard.
What should my times be for the run? I heard 5k in 35 is great. Also how heavy is the ruck usually?
35 or under for the 5 mile is a great time to shoot for! The 12 mile ruck’s weight standard is usually 35lbs dry.
5k is 3.2 miles iirc. The standard is 5 mi in 40 mins not 5 km
What’s the source for this info?
Straight from regiment. I did just get out of the military so some buddies are still in.
