ABSOLUTELY 100% SPOT ON! I was at 2/75 fromm 1991-1996 and even as an E-5 I found myself asking questions constantly. It was drilled in me that if i had any question, just ask. Theres no shame in it. We all have our strengths and are weaknesses. Its all about overcoming those weaknesses and maintaining those strengths.
Not a Ranger but my thing was this: it has to stop, I'll quit tomorrow. And the next day I got through it. The hardest day isn't the first day but showing up for the second. But you don't quit till tomorrow even it's the second day
No shit there I was… fall, 2008 in Small Unit Tactics of the Special Forces Qualification Course. It was the first patrol of a 5 day field exercise. The clouds turned darker with the evening, as the smell of rain approached, wetting the sand of that cool North Carolina evening. The first drop of rain hit my face and before I could mentally prepare for the long wet night I was about endure, I heard someone yell, “FUCK THIS I QUIT!” The first guy to quit in my class was a Ranger. A multiple tour combat vet from 3rd Ranger BN. It shocking to see him ruck flop before he was even cold and wet. But at the same time, he probably knew what was coming and had enough. We never saw him again as the rest of walked into the tree line. ☀️⚡️⭐️🇺🇸
Trying to improve my mentality on exercising, I’m 13 and I want to enlist as a 12B with a contract to go to RASP to get in the 75th because they deploy a lot compared to other units and I want to be able to actually use that training in a real scenario instead of just training to never actually use those skills on deployment, but the thing is, I try to exercise and I will be able to keep at it for 2-3 weeks but after that I just slowly fade out of it and stop exceeding completely, I’ve probably done this more than 10 times, is there any tips you can give me that can change my mentality in exercise and make me actually look forward to it?
@@LocalElf You’re not always going to want to go workout and enjoy it. You just need to make it a habit in your life so you do it regardless of how you feel. The easiest way to develop the habit is to join a group like a sports team or class that forces you to workout. For me I played sports and joined weights class in high school where I had to show up and lift for a grade. I haven’t stopped lifting since.
At 13 you need to focus on your school, and eating good foods so you can grow healthy and strong through puberty. Keep your goal but you have close to five years before you can obtain it. Don't let yourself get burned out and prevent all of the injuries you can, stay out of trouble.
A former marine was in my PLT. He was cool and I didn’t know until he told me. You get treated by your performance not your background if that’s what you’re worried about.

Did you meet any former marines at the regiment bro? How are they treated if so?

@@jstewthompson hell yea bro thanks
Excellent 🎯RLTW!
Do people fuck up land nav because they genuinely can’t figure out how to do it correctly, or they just get flustered and make dumb mistakes?
A lot of it has to due with guys getting caught cheating during the test. But yes you can make a make dumb mistakes.
Are Rangers seeing any combat now a days? Like from any small private wars?
