When you don’t see any economic benefits and infrastructure improvement in your village knowing that all natural resources belong to the poor people too and they have the right to receive benefits of it and don’t get anything people will support anyone that take you down.
Its so hard to say without actually being feet on the ground for an extremely long time. Everything is in flux, the military generally have the weapons, so therefore the power. Other unions can learn from these acts of "acting in the best interest of the people" but careful what you wish for. It can be extremely risky.

When Rawlings left office he was the only African leader who walked the streets of Ghana freely and safely, and traveled all over world without bodyguards/security details. He was a great man.
