Yes, rehashing sounds great but they would be like Alesis... Workmanship, components, etc. would not be the same level. I think that's why 90s synthesizers hold their value to a great extend.
I have recently used a special grease for plastic surfaces and no clacky keys now... :) Buy a quality grease for plastic and you will see the difference unless you have some wear and tear components inside. Aftertouch is also great on this synthesizer, very responsive unlike equivalent Roland and Korg models.
Absolute best synth ever created. it is easy to use and very versatile. The huge extraordinary sounds that this solid beauty creates takes very little memory. Multis are quick and easy to create and the effects are phenomenal. Have several TS12s & TS10s and after nearly 25 years have only needed battery replacements.
@@eaglechildkeys The only difference is the 10 is smaller but has the benefit of poly aftertouch--more than one key can be affected at the same time with programmed aftertouch. Can not remember the last time I needed to use this benefit. The 12 is also much cheaper to buy used.

I own 2x TS 10, 1x Ts 12, 2x ASR! I love them no modern keyboards can beat these keys!! believe me I have tried different kinds of new Keyboards, ended up returning or selling them away! ensonqs are Glued with me for the rest of my live that's it Midi Controls are 10/10 Volume Expression/Sustain pedal/ 2 switch midi inputs can be used for 4 too with double pedals) / midi command assignable buttons 1 to 10 each have 6 buttons/ pitchband/modwheel/ 2 patch midi buttons/velocity curves/Aftertouch sensitivity ! keybeds are the best 10/10 velocity/Aftertouch are the best I have used from all the keyboards around the world, excluding the Kurzweill 2500, 2600 series! thickness of the sound are 10/10 and the keyboards made in early 1990 aren't they impressive ? hell yessss
That's totally true. Nowdays keyboards also sound very thin compare with the old Ensoniq. Let's pray for this company come back again and do new stuff.. I really wish.. :)
It's an awesome synth. This kind of keyboards better keep in studio rather than carry to live shows. I sold mine months ago because the same issue. You can experience with it and after that , you always can go for the TS-10. Cheers! ;-)

As much as the Fender Rhodes and the Wurlitzer 200A is the sound of the 70's the TS-12 is the sound of the 1990's. lol The first time I heard one of these I was like "Wow this one piano is the sound of my childhood". lol One day I'll own one.
Transcendental Airwaves Agree with that :) Now some synth makers as Behringer, they are doing some clones of vintage synths as Oberheim, Roland Jupiter..etc...And, one of my suggestions to them is make a clone of the ENSONIQ too..haha Hope someday they can do it...because get an Ensoniq nowdays in a good condition is very rare...Many has troubles. I had an incident occur where all my sequences were erased as well as some of these sounds such as the Filmish, synth kraft & 48-hour shuffle. any idea how to get them back?

Hi JHPhilippi ;-) Yes. The TS-12 keys are hammer action. It felt really nice, but moving it was a pain. That's why I sold it. I think was around 25kg... ;-/
Thanks for not using any sequencer! Could you tell me something about the keyboard action? Is it light weighted? And the sounds? Unfortunatey YT offers only a pale shade of the original sound. Is it just as voluminous as I remembered it?

@@michaelnc4450 1) to write patches/samples on floppy disks for TS you'll need PC with built in floppy drive, Win98 OS and Ensoniq Disk Manager (edm.exe) tool; 2) if you use floppy disk emulator like Gotek or Lotharek, you'll have to use tools (HxCFloppyEmulator) provided which exports to .hfe format and can be stored in countless virtual disks on USB stick 3) if you use midi to USB interface, you'll have to find (or export to) patches in Sys-Ex format .syx and use software like SysEx Librarian (for Mac) or MIDI-OX (for PC) to send them to TS through midi interface.

@@nicolima3254 Look for disk TS-101. It's in user sounds, bank U0. I also had all user banks replaced with ROM banks, finally loaded through Gotek FDE. You can also find all of them in Sys-Ex format and send to TS through midi.
A keyboardist in a band at a church camp quite a few years ago used to play two TS-10s. Piano, electric organ, a few synth stacks, occasionally bass if the player couldn't make it, and it seemed some percussion came from them as well. I was too little to remember much about it. I think later on she used Ableton Live or Mainstage with only one TS-10 and left the other at home. Eventually she couldn't make it anymore (one week long camp, two services a day plus a youth music time) due to moving I think. Always thought it had a nice sound to it. Nice playing.

If you ever make your own song you should have that key line as your intro to the song and later if you find someone who can play electric guitar have the guitar kick in and sound like an 80s hair metal song
@@eaglechildkeys Hi, all of them are either factory (TS-101) or from disks TSD-1001 to TSD-1006. I finally found them after installed Gotek FDE on my TS-12. These patches and your playing inspired me to look for and find them on internet. Search for R-Massive, theu've got them all ;)
Yes, very good! I am anxiously awaiting the return of my TS-12 that I purchased on January 2nd, 2019. It unfortunately needed some repairs as it stopped turning on after only a few hours of use. It has been over 30 days, but I expect it will be worth the wait once I finally have it back.

@@davidfaunce9598 Apologies for the late reply. I sent it back to where I purchased it, Metro Sound and Music in Richmond, VA. They have an onsite keyboard technician by the name of "Temple." He's the one who fixed it for me.

@@eaglechildkeys Hi, as I wrote above, thanks to your playing I was inspired to find these patches, and I was wrong - they are factory user RAM patches, only they've been deleted from my TS and replaced by ROM sounds. Your demo both reveals the power of Ensoniq TS and recalls nostalgia for 90ties music from my teens. Keep playing!
