Thanks for watching and being apart of the family :)
Woah.. that is a lot of tired. Hopefully I can get through that too. There was so much practical info! Loved it!
And the moment you said alcoholic pancreatitis, i looked at my notes and thats exactly what I’m studying right now. Haha!
@@irinacortez5618 LOL what a coincidence I guess you could say we are always on the same page :)
Can we appreciate the amount of time and effort that went into making this video? That’s beside the medical accuracy while still respecting the patients privacy. You guys are just awesome
Edkens Alexandre haha thanks, I was really tired and unmotivated by the evening but felt like I couldn’t give up at that point. Appreciate you taking the time to watch it
@@KoiAcademy this content is very informative. You deserve all praises
yea like WTF
No we are simply unappreciative of the effort
This was honestly one of the most dope "day in the life of a doctor" videos. I appreciate the effort you put in to make it! Only recently found your channel and I think you guys are underrated. Lots of great content, beautiful editing, and genuinely good vibes all around! Look forward to your upcoming videos!
Wow, anyone who takes the time to watch this extremely long video is our hero. So glad you found us :)
Best "Day in a Life" Vid Ever !
KanMedLife glad you enjoyed it! :)
Omg 24 hour call, I could never 😂🙈Y'all are rockstars!
Madalyn's Musings Aw thanks for watching, I know you have a busy schedule so it means a lot. What’s the best way to connect with you?
I have so much respect for all doctors in the world! Thank you for sharing this, MM!
Wow you went back into the archives haha, appreciate your time ❤️
Mike and Marty, I really appreciate your videos. Very inspiring!!! I like the clarity of your messaging. Please keep this up!
Appreciate the love!
It is so inspiring how you and Paul are so attentive towards your patients in distress. 😃How you guys responded to the emergency submissions that took place throughout the day. As well as how you was so willing to hold down the hospital throughout the evening. Shows how genuinely caring you are. Thanks for sharing this insight into your professional lives.💖
Bright Beatrice just hoping to shed some light on what happens around here in the hospital, thank you for taking the time out of your day to watch. Please share if you know others who would enjoy watching, and as always we love having you in the channel family!
@@KoiAcademy you are very much welcome! It was such an insightful video and worth the share. Thanks 💖
Great video! It makes me miss working at the hospital. It was like its own community and people were always happy to see me coming to work. I was a teenage volunteer and then part time food deliverer while at university.
Amazing video boys, this video actually shows what you do on a day at work. Unlike half the other videos where doctors just talk about their breakfast or Nikes
yea we really wanted to show practical knowledge, especially now that people looking to go into the field are having more friction with shadowing, interviewing, and getting clinical exposure. Thanks for always supporting!
This is awesome. Thanks to you all your friends ( colleagues) for their input.
This video is so well structured!
When you were about to inter the food into your mouth and then you had a code so you put it back to the plate and ran. That was awesome, it told a lot. I am a general doctor from Sudan, that's in Africa. I learn a lot from you guys. Thank you so much.
Fellow hospitalist from SBC - great job on all the videos. I’m learning a lot from you guys too! You’re very detailed and highlight a lot of important and helpful day to day topics in medicine delivered easily to the public. Congratulations to you and your brother on your successes. Hoping your channel reaches 1 million subscribers one day!
Always love hearing from a brother in the struggle, glad we found each other
Great content as always! Definitely would love to see more vlogs in the hospitals. Thanks guys! :)
Thanks for watching man, we have a ton more coming, one for each rotation haha
Loved this particularly the iPad sketches - really well explained the US system for someone like me! Had been seeing "MS" all over twitter but never realised it was so simply just medical student ahaha! Thanks for sharing 😁
Haha what abbreviation do you guys go by
Congrats on 10k!!!!! this video was filmed so aesthetically pleasing! I def need to take notes from you. also, my best friend is right now a second year IM resident and I am so glad I understood almost all of what you're saying haha
thank you!! haha yea it's crazy that residents and physical therapists work so closely with each other yet we each have our own lingo sometimes
Honestly this is the best a doctor on call video I've ever seen because it's was informative and unlike others he didn't try to make look fancy
That means a lot, thanks for taking the time
@@KoiAcademy thank you for keeping it real
CONGRATS on 10K! Well-deserved & well-earned! This was such an awesome video & huge thanks to the medical staff for taking the time to share their insights. I used to work as a phone operator responsible for paging docs, so hearing the pager go off & the overhead codes brought back memories. Gonna enjoy your journey, as more folk discover y'all on YT!
it's so great to have as part of the family! And thank you for all that you do, I bet it gets relentless for the hospital operators especially during these times, but you are so crucial in keeping us going!
Super inspiring ❤️❤️❤️ just what i needed to get back to my books
Al Karla Saclayan aww thanks for watching and happy studying!
really enjoyed this video, hopefully you can do more of them (obv if schedule allows!)
One of the best 24H on call video.
Second year med student starting tomorrow here in Phoenix. Huge fan of your guys’ content. Thanks for sharing!
Very well explained video.. being from infection biology research background, its interesting to observe in what circumstances the internal medicine docs work.

that means a lot, thanks for watching!
Can’t believe I just found this vid. I learned so much!

Can you pleaseee make more of these !
Nice to know that your pagers are just as annoying as ours in the UK Mike ;)
Joshua Kovoor hey man nice to hear from you! Yup we are all part of the same struggle haha, hope things are going well
Hi I really enjoyed watching this and it's definitely the best medical "day of my life" video I’ve ever seen. Can’t help but wonder about one thing though. Those facilities for residents, like the resident lounge and rooms, are they just for internal medicine residents or all specialities? 😄 Thanksss!
That means a lot thanks for watching! Our hospital is the only one I know of that still provides our own call rooms. It’s for internal med and surgery only
16:41 Idk he is so smart that he diagnosed her before seeing her, or that's a rookie mistake (aka having a diagnosis before examination of the patient) which leads to confirmation biases and a false diagnosis afterward. He treated this patient like a board question patient.
Haha always gotta go in with a presumed plan but also be flexible with a differential
You are definitely at Scripps I recognize those elevators!
So cool!! inspired me a lot!
thanks for watching!
Don't students fail in your medical? It's frustrating failing in profs..very hard to overcome.. It feels like I'll never pass and be stuck to the same year..
So do residents sort of live in the on-call rooms sometimes? I just noticed the ones you showed had all their belongings in their and seemed arranged like a dorm would be. Just curious!
Eagerly waiting for RemNote btw your channel is awesome
thanks for watching! do you mean RemNote videos or RemNote app lol
Mike and Matty the app of course 😂
Yash Thakkar do you use iPhone? Android is open to public !
Mike and Matty i use ipad
Never had food at the hospital that looked like that 😅
lol we got 4 stars on yelp
This was fun!
thanks for watching!
Waow! This is the video that made me subscribe 😍
I should be studying but I'm watching this instead lol.
this is scary. I hope this is not a normal thing. Doctors who work through sleep deprivation :-/ . It certainly motivates to stay healthy and try to stay save from accidents, as to hopefully never having to go to a hospital. Makes you wonder what the goal of healthcare is... It's inspiring to see you work through it nonetheless. But I just can't shake the feeling that it could be differently organised with more attention to health instead of an adrenaline driven workload.
The nurse is just doing her job, they are forced to tell you guys anytime something is outside of the "norm", i'm sure the nurses get annoyed with notifying you of a typically normal vital.
You are making me miss my doctor days :P
Haha going far back into the archives
And now I feel like being a doctor would be nice 😅...but I did not take the subject for that in high school 💔😂
I never knew resident doctors had rooms inside the hospital to rest
Yea most hospitals have call rooms for rest especially for night doctors to share. But my residency hospital was the only place with personal rooms
Those on-call rooms though!
lol yea our program is special in that we all get our personal rooms to decorate however we choose to
@@KoiAcademy I like the ukulele in yours ! You should post a video of you playing it! ♥️ Lofi hip hop uke ?! Yas please!
@@juliemvo lol why do you always have the best ideas
@@KoiAcademy aw thanks 🥰 just another perspective !
I take it this is not in Canada, right?
Maybe California?
What's called 24 hr oncall is actually 28 hours or more
Looks like your hospital has nice accommodation even to interns and the attendings and residents are less toxic. What hospital and state is this? I'm from all the way to asia and everything and everyone is toxic here
I'm thinking of going into medicine and been watching a lot of 'Grey's Anatomy' and was surprised how accurate it was.
Mike our here saying 2 hours of sleep is pretty good 🧐 haha, this was really enjoyable bros
Steve Yosh haha thanks for always showing up it means a lot
Im so thankful for free healthcare in england
One year late but, the DEDICATION.
Hey what's the name of the songs in that video? Sooo good. Or what is your playlist? I love it

Thanks for taking the time to watch!
Thanks to u too bros for ur videos 💞
OH MY GOSH!!!! THEY ARE LIKE TWO SET VIOLIN
Very nice
Do you get an additional day off after your 24 hour shift?
Edkens Alexandre Lol weirdly no, you come in for a regular day the next day. But it’s a non call day so it’s without the pager and not overnight
19:16 - that’s some PTSD right there 😭
lol, rejoice when you are done with house
Hi Doc,
I’m a premed. I’m just wondering if I choose to go into Family Medicine, is residency for Family Medicine also hard? For family medicine, what’s the schedule like? How many hours per week do the residents typically work? Also, do they have to be on call?
Thank you!
doctors work so algorithmically nowadays , bcs of business making by hospitals , i cant see any care in the doctors anymore , they are made to work so hard that they , try to give the job the bare minimum....
Cool. I didn't know it worked like that. I guess the way medicine works in US is a bit different.. this reminds me of Grey's anatomy lol
yea it's interesting how medicine works so differently around the world. Where do you practice? and ever considering coming to U.S?
how old were you when you graduated residency?
Wow I love this hospital! What's the name of this hospital?
Huntington hospital in Pasadena
New subscriber here! Enjoyed your videos!! I wonder, are you asians? (E.g filipinos/ thailander)
Thanks and welcome aboard! We are viet lol. You?
omg I love the snorlax mask hahaha :P
LOL snorlax makes a recurring appearance in many of our videos :)

Hello Sir,am from Bangladesh. An intermediate student.I wants to be a Doctor. But I am very scared thinking operation how could I do.Do you think MBBS Study good for me??Please reply💜
omg i did my rotation at this hospital
So which country is that
Why does mike sometimes look so sad, is he ok?
lol maybe cuz im tired :P
Is active recall helpful even in high school?
I think the earlier you start using it, the better. If you can incorporate active recall into your high school studying, you will get good grades and can get into a good college if you decide to go!
Thank you
Your videos are awesome
Where do you live in usa?
Los Angeles
more real than BOSTON MED...
Tryna keep it real
Ok mate its not a rumor that asian have to become a doctor. I mean wow respect.
