Unused Railroad Crossing

I'm gonna say "unused" as the signals here could still operate if a train were to make it past the brush that's grown up across the tracks, though it's quite clear that the line here doesn't get used anymore. This is actually the same line as the previous two crossings I uploaded. It does appear that NS goes through and maintains the crossing still, as the signals have new blue DOT tags and the meter shows plenty of electricity has been used here since it was installed. Наука
Theres unused crossings in my hometown Corydon, Indiana the signals there are still in service tho
UPDATE: Its offically abandoned as the lights are folded in, maybe not abandoned but its out of service for the most part
I'm aware. I even posted a video showing that.
Those annoying wasps which build nests everywhere
i agree. i dont like wasps building nests in my railroad crossing if i made a road with a railroad crossing.
Ikr! Im allergic to them and they always get in my way! I hate seeing the paper wasp nests or any kind of nest anywhere (except for birds cuz birds are pretty)
It looks like it hasn't been used in about 6 years but, surprisingly, the signals are still intact! No rusty poles! Amazing! The wasp nests are a bit disgusting. It looks like basically, they can reuse it for storing hopper cars and maybe open a furniture or snack food plant and run a local train and just go around and cut the vegetation and just keep the signals and ties looked after and they're good to go!
They are probably gross of you have phobia but yeah it could be used for storage
CA Peninsula Railfan Productions lol yeah
Mhm
@@GMTX-kg8ep You realize he's not going to see the reply you posted because you have to actually hit the reply button unless you do that then he will get notified you can't just type his name and automatically expect him to see it
@@tsg931 Actually, everyone sees it. So it doesn't matter if he type the name.
Why was this crossing unused for for so long but still maintained?
Maybe NS thinks a customer could move in that needs rail service? IDK.
what street is this?
He said 34th in Chattanooga dummy
@@tsg931 there is no problem asking what street is it on. Why would he respond to it anyway
interesting. is it back in service today?
Don't believe so.
there's this abandoned railroad line part of it was owned by the UP & part of it was owned by SP
Will u come back to this crossing this year just checking it out?
Most likely not.
The North Branch cordor is in bad condition in Bergen county it's ran by CSX and it's abandoned a lot of Crossings along this branch is rusty the tracks are horrible so they run through once on Mondays through Fridays carring oil which is strange .it was ran by New York central back then . it starts by CP5 there weeds blocking the rails and tree branches covered by tracks everything is its abandoned
Thomas Nativo u mean north branch MN I live there there is a train track by my house
the relay case is still on.
Yes, the video mentions that.

Dude you don't need to comment this twice and you can look in the description or listen to him in the actual video he said 34th Street in Chattanooga!
@Sowwy there is no problem asking what street is it on. Why would he respond to it anyway
What kind of relay case is that?

Abandoned :, (
Unused.
Not abandoned :-)
It has a what kind of base ???
SERRMI.
The electric meter is an Itron open way
there’s a nest
Yeah we know he showed the paper wasp nests about a quarter into the video
1 DISLIKE!?!!
If they are unused I'll take one of them
Don't. These are still hooked-up to power and NS still owns them.
ILL BUY THEM how much are the crossings?
Whoops wrong video
No cuz they are still owned and they're still connected to power and I don't think the NS would be happy when they see a signal missing when they try to cut down the weeds or sum but you do you but I don't recommend it!
