Granted, that only happens in battle portals usually because enemies are commonly spawned right next to you at the start, and they always attack immediately. If they're running towards you instead of winding up their zoner-punch I believe it's safe to assume that they're going to use that attack most of the time (as opposed to doing the jumping slam attack), at which point you can kind of "react" to it in the sense that you know what to expect and can respond right before the attack comes out. Fun fact: The attack in question can be blocked from all directions, even if you're using the regular Guard/playing as Sora instead of using Dark Barrier. If you can predict it in time, try blocking it instead of dodging it.

Hey Ninten I know we haven't always gotten along, but texas grandma did not invent this route. I made it pretty much from scratch, and texasgrandma is just a lot better at ddd than me since he actually runs that game. WR is like 95% my route, so it's frustrating that you gave all the credit to someone else for "making the route." I have to assume you didn't do that on purpose, but I wish you had asked texas or desa or someone to confirm that first, 37,000 people now think someone else did all my work.
ive always found if your not dealing with 1 dmg regardless what you do for every KH game, all of them are actually fun on lvl 1, the issue with ones like DDD is you need to do some insane planning to get passed it
@@tylercafe1260 Even without NG+ you should be able to do competent damage fairly early on in Critical Mode if you know what you're doing since Yoggy Ram is made available at the start of Sora's La Cite des Cloches. Yoggy Ram has access to Spirit Roar in the Leader disposition from Level 5 onwards and casts it fairly often, and he also gets access to Combo Assist at Level 15. This also makes no mention of drop bonuses, which can be used to improve DPS considerably. I haven't tried it at Level 1 quite yet, but I can say that in regular playthroughs of the game on Crit unless you're going into higher level worlds too early (in which case mechanical skill usually takes precedent in determining outcomes) or are skipping most of the enemies in the overworld you should always be doing decent damage in every stage of the game even if you don't grind levels or grind LP to get more powerful commands, especially if you use Yoggy Ram. I was able to one-cycle Lord Kyroo with Sora in Prankster's Paradise (as in, full HP to dead in the very first fight with him) at Level 29 without the use of Balloon commands or endgame commands (it was done in NG) despite not doing any actual grinding and merely using whatever toys I had acquired naturally for any LP farming.

8:09 yeah. This boss is MF level Bullshit for me. Im playing Lvl1, and cant do anything to this guy. I tried every dreameater combination at this point but no matter what I do, Im still only doing chipdamage. I even tried grinding with sora->selecting Attack&Magic Boost lvl3 -> using Balloonga. Nope. Still chipdamage. My sora is already 5 worlds further than riku. Another problem with this boss: You can't reliably block or evade every attack and some attacks have no tell what so ever. ANOTHER PROBLEM: Even if you block some projetiles, others can still hit you from the back OR FROM ABOVE WTF.
I beat this game at Level 1 Crit earlier this year and this was hands down the hardest to run through. I had to farm for Spirit Roar for a while and it helped immensely for most of the fights but they weren't cake walks either. Even with Second Chance, Once More, Hastes and all of the other useful abilities, a lot of fights are brutal. The worst for me were Commantis, the boss rush in Traverse Town, Spellican, the mob fights in Prankster's Paradise, Mostro, Huchback of Notre Dame and Mousketeers, the hooded man in TWTNW, all forms of Ansem, Rinzler and Xehanort. It was very, very rough. So glad I did it though and pulled through
Ansem Phase 1 is the absolute worst part of this run, followed closely by Spelican and Traverse Town Boss Rush. Xehanoet isn't so bad once you learn to spam Firaga Burst, but then using THAT setup ends up being a detriment when you face Ventus Armor Nightmare immediately after. I did this run twice, once on 3DS and again on PS4, and the 3DS run of the aforementioned pair of bosses was soul crushing...
You had to farm for Spirit Roar? I can only assume that you were using Majik Lapin for that, because Yoggy Ram (Leader disposition) is made available at the start of Sora's La Cite des Cloches and gets access to Spirit Roar at Level 5 and Combo Assist at Level 15.
So if i wanted to play the kh2 randomizer mod, do i have to buy the game in epic games or can i download it on an emulator? I’ve really wanted to play the randomizer mod and I’ve been confused by this
Dream Drop Distance is easily the WORST game in the series to level 1 critical run. I've done it twice now--both on 3DS and PS4, and both times were awful. Dive Wing (best keyblade you can before the postgame) is easy enough to get, but in the late game its boosts are negligible. The very first part of Riku's The Grid is an unfair as fuck. Unless you're running a party of 3 Sir Kyroo your damage output throughout the run is abysmal. Finally, Ansem Phase 1 is the MOST unfair part of the run. No joke it took DAYS to finally trigger Phase 2, and by that point I had mastered the fight to the point of never taking damage and landing every hit. It's entirely luck based. I've done the run twice now, and hopefully will never have to again. Fuck Dream Drop Distance Level 2 Critical run. edit: even doing it as a NG+ with access to every spirit and ability from the start is barely useful. The grind required just to obtain the requisite abilities takes HOURS.
I made it to the end of the game and got stuck on young xehanort as riku & got stuck on the wizard boss as sora. It's a long endurance fest i do not want to do again.
Ugh Spelican is the worst boss in Sora's run, MAYBE behind the boss rush in Traverse Town Phase 2, but nothing, NOTHING is as bad as Ansem Phase 1. Triggering Phase 2 is entirely luck based.
Sum of u might dislike me, but i ordered a copy of the 3ds version of this game since ive never played it and wanted to play it on its original ver, it is bad?
It's the same game just at 240p, with 3d, worse camera controls (no r-stick), and a better intro sequence. 3D looks nice tbh. Especially the into sequence.
For gameplay, stick with the HD version. Once you’ve played on a bigger screen it’s harder to go back to the 3DS. You can play the game with the 3D on though, including the FMV opening which is really cool. Okay, for novelty factor try it. The only real gameplay difference is that the Reality Shifts were designed for the touch screen, the most radically different one being the Symphony of Sorcery one.
I like the 3DS better, just improves the atmosphere somehow, and you can get the AR Card dream eaters at the beginning which have some busted abilities.
DDD isnt a bad game - but its a bad KH game. It is the most unbalanced game (stuff is either bonkers busted or useless), it has the worst command deck, the drop meter just isnt fun if you dont you DMNs and most of the bosses suck. Flow Motion is nice kinda nice, but it suffers the classical KH syndrom of "people didnt really like it so we will mostly remove it in the next game".
You know, you CAN swap sets whenever right? Like have 3 decks per character, and swap outside of combat? Just have deck 2 with the item that increases drop meter (you can buy them pretty cheap all things considered) and you literally don't ever have to worry about dropping, just every so often go to deck 2, use a few of them, then go back to your battle deck

Also that fight reset of Young Xehanort was a really cool show of his time control, in KH3 it's just armor named time
@AT Productions you can stop it though, he is a time controlling younger version of the main villain, his data fight should be hardest, not easiest
@AT Productions you’re both right but I feel like it’s cool either way
In KH3's DLC if you fail to deplete his armor in time he does actually rewind time and restore a few bars of his HP.
The funny thing about this is that I was actually about to start a critical run for DDD so like this is one hell of a coincidence
Oh, if you land the RC on Xemnas, you can land a punish, but he can no longer flinch for the rest of the fight
