Every great athlete needs a rival to push them and it’s great for us fans. I Sydney is just too strong for Femke but then facing one another should be fantastic. I only wish they were battling one another in other events (200 and 400) also.
In hindsight, after the US Olympic trials, this did not age well. right now, Bol is in the same class as Anna Cockrell, who is improving steadily, but still almost 2 seconds behind Sydney.
Femke's PB is more than a whole second FASTER than Cockrell and only 0.8 behind McLaughlin. What you forget is that Femke ran that 52.49 only in her 3d race of the season, and only a few days after coming out of heavy training. McLaughlin and Cockrell ran their races 3 weeks later and 3 weeks further into the process of "peaking" toward Paris. You are trying to compare apples to pears.

@@dreamchaser5227 Euhm, how would that be possible if they NEVER RUN against each other? It happened only 2x in history, once in 2021 and once in 2022. And in those day's Femke was still a newby. We will see what happens in Paris.
