You actually should not join any faction.
That was the plan originally but it changed when I thought it would be easier to be voted as a faction leader than create my own and probably get crushed instantly.
@@GuidenYT I am merely suggesting you play the long game. You can own settlements and not belongs to any faction at the same time. Then, you won't be attacked by any factions and can do businesses all you want. Like a Limbo between state and not a state. Of course, you can't get the benefit of those policies if you stuck within the Limbo, but you can amass tons of wealth and lands by doing that. Making all the other clans lost their land and wealth. FYI, factions can't declare war on you if you don't belong to any faction and didn't create your own kingdom.

Have multiple 300+ day playthroughs and never once have gotten a single Spicevendor companion. You grab one on your first companion check. Clearly I'm doing something wrong with my warmongering ass 😂
First thing I do each playthrough is look in the encyclopedia for rare and high stat companions and where they are.

Crafting a 2H weapon and selling it to a poor city for all it's food and momey,simply amazing!
Nothing like bankrupting a city by selling 20 javelins, using the money to buy pitchforks, turning those pitchforks into wood and iron and then more javelins, repeat until the city has no money!
And then you spend 200k on weapons that you force-feed your troops (buy hoes for big joke) and thus end up with 200 vlandian banner knights
