- Today I will show you how to get Pokemon Events in your Generation 4 and 5 Pokemon games as well as how to get some of the online features to work in these games again. I hope you found this useful.

For people asking (and I don't know why people are cause this has NOTHING to do with the 3DS servers) but NO, nothing will change if the 3DS servers go down. This not only has NOTHING to do with the 3DS servers but these are fan servers. They will only go down when fans stop hosting them.

Lol I watched this clip and 10 minutes later I have a Celebi on my Soul silver...thank you so much! As a child I always heard about events like this but would never think I would have been able to experience them myself one day.
Love to see current tutorials still being made about this. I think it's great that fans are still able to access all these old events and content. One of the features I've used this for most in recent memory is accessing the Wi-Fi Battle Tower in Generation 4, which can be used to get the otherwise unobtainable World Ability Ribbon on your Pokemon. The teams that have been uploaded to that tower are wild and sometimes frustrating to fight, but I found it an interesting endeavour nonetheless!

I'm currently rerunning pokemon White Version.. and it's fascinating that this is still working for all my DS Pokemon games .. I just love that I can now experience those events on my own because back then as teenager, I didn't care to bother 😅

Edit: as long as the DNS provided on the webpage does connect to your hot-spot, this method will work regardless the shutting down of the 3Ds servers.
I've been trying to do it but it doesn't work. Does that have to do with the fact that i'm using my wifi router instead of an hot-spot?
@@dilansyku6558 Specifically for 4th gen games, you need to use the hot-spot method. I have done it for both, 4th and 5th gen games but 4th gen is a special case when it comes to wifi connection.

That whole “you’re going to need a hotspot for the DS” I have a DS lite and remember getting a mystery gift for Pokemon B/W. I remember using the phone in my aunts house and calling a nintendo rep to get the mystery gift 🤣!!

No but you can get a phone for $25 and buy a card for 1 month of service. Usually starting at $20. Make sure you buy a plan with enough data. Just don’t renew it/buy another card if you don’t want to keep that phone service afterwards. Dollar General has some prepaid smartphones. Idk if their flip phones would work but the smart phones should work.
Plus you can use the phone without service afterwards by using a WiFi calling and text app. Some are free to use.
Also never cheap out on data for these things! It’s better to pay a little more for more data than needed than pay less and run out of data before you can finish what you’re doing
Edit: the cheapest smartphone I’ve seen at Dollar General was $25. It was large too. I think it was True Wireless? Maybe tracphone? One of the cheap brands you only buy if you can’t afford anything better or need a temporary phone or need something you don’t care if it gets stolen or damaged. Their flip phones are the ones I often see for only $20

Idk what I am doing wrong but it always displays an error message. What did you do to make it work? I am playing pkmn white. The error message is 20110 and states that Nintendo servers have been discontinued.

Did they put the shiny genescet from the mystery gift of the pokemon movie 13 event because a few years ago with the old DNS server I tried with pokemon ranger guardian signs and it didn't work but with this new one that you show me I tried it out and it work I was able to gain the special mission so I wanted to know if they put that shiny event in the mystery gift for gen 5?

If you had error no. 20something don’t use a hotspot (it did work with me finally!!!)
This might be a really stupid question, but does the theme park only part of the game with the mini games and stuff work on this for Pokemon Platinum?

Hey I 've been having trouble with the set up and you seem the latest to get it to work on HGSS, when I connect my hotspot the game finds the hotspot but can't connect even without a password. Did you have any trouble with that?

However, I had a problem with attempts to trade.
When I'm going under the pokecenter, I talk to the middle attendant, I can go through the blue screen of Pikachu and enter the trade/battle room with a friend (I can see him inside the room), we couldn't make the trade - at that moment the connection always falls.

In my experience for trading, you just have to keep trying. It takes me awhile to connect online to do trading with friends and I can't tell if this is a DS thing or their servers thing. Either or just keep trying to connect and EVENTUALLY you'll be able to get online.
Tried clicking on nintendo wfc settings on white 2 on my dsi XL and the message it gives me is" Please configure your connection settings under the Internet option in the System Settings." Does anyone know what that means? Thanks
It worked perfectly with my Platinum but it doesn't work with my White 2 version. It says that the nintendo network was discontinued on so on. What should I do?

yo!! where can i find more information on unlocking mystery gifts from other regions in Gen 5? i have a North American copy, so I've only gotten those gift pokemon. But I know there's more from europe and japan and so on. How do I access them?

Still works on Platinum as of October 2nd 2023. Used Android and be sure to turn disable hotspot password. was able to get Arceus, Celebi, Darkrai, etc.

4:18 I did everything the video said to this point and tried changing the DNS in SoulSilver but it's not accepting, is there something I did wrong or something?
I tried doing the steps as follows for the generation four games, but, I'm not getting anywhere with my Pokémon Pearl and Pokémon SoulSilver games on my Nintendo DS lite and Dsi. Twice with Pearl, I did search for mystery gift via Wi-Fi connection, and it freezes. Other times, it says unable to connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi connection, SoulSilver game too. What am I doing wrong?

I've been trying to do this on my Japanese 2Ds LL as well as my English 3Ds and it keeps bringing up an error with the error code 31020 whenever I try to claim a mystery gift. I've set the DNS to the correct code and I've tried multiple times to claim a mystery gift. Any help? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong :')

Yes you can
the hotspot works with my 3DS internet settings, but not for the actual hgss settings. I keep getting error code 51099. Any way to fix this?

Question, On iphone you cannot disable the password for a personal hotspot. How do I get around that feature? Is there a way to disable it? Or do I have to be on a public wifi?
You can probably reconnect your router again to make it have no password

I keep getting error 52100, my ds recognize the connection but it won’t connect. I’ve used a ds lite and 3ds xl and it won’t work. I used a motorola to make the hotspot. And I’ve used all Gen 4 games to try and no luck. Any suggestions?

You will get the gift more than once (due to how the servers randomize the events) but if you try to download it again the game itself won't let you.
Little late but; Now that I’ve obtained the key items for Platinum, they don’t seem to work or initiate the event (Secret Key, Membership Card, Oak’s Letter, and Azure Flute). Are they disabled since the event if over or am I missing something?
Update: Figured out that I needed the National Dex to start the event for the Membership Card. For the Secret Key; I was talking to the wrong part of the wall 😂. All key items work as intended. Oppsie poopsie 🫡
all the events are post-game i believe. make sure for the membership card you’ve set off the roaming cresselia thing first. azure flute you have to beat the elite 4, same thing with oaks letter
Is there any way to speed up the randomness of the Mystery Gift process, or list all the available Wonder Cards so you can only get the ones you want?

Great video! Side note: You need an android to do this. You can't turn off your hotspot password on iPhone.
Alternatively, you can switch off your password for your home WiFi temporality, so it will work for the DS and DS Lite - then switch the password back on after getting the various gifts.
Do you have to change the connection you’re currently using on 3DS or can you set this as connection 2 instead?
You can set it to whatever connection number you want.
