Excellent video. I am like you, I only declutter my clothes if they are grungy or too small. I have clothes I hadn’t worn for a couple of years. Guess what, I have worn 3 of these garments a number of times this year. My choice of what to wear each day depends on my mood, the temperature or where I am going or what I am planning to do. Shoes, oh my gosh I have some beautiful shoes but due to a fall and foot injury I have to let them go. My only consolation is that someone else will wear them and love them like I did. My late husband use to say passing on good clothes, shoes, bags etc is sharing the wealth not to forget protecting the environment.
Please be kind to yourself. I am a 70-year-old widow with health issues, so I adapt these suggestions. Today I cleaned one drawer and spent 5 minutes in office drawer. That’s all I can handle and that’s okay!
I listened to this whole video while decluttering my drawers, wardrobe, papers, letters, notebooks, i then realised it had only taken me 55 minutes to declutter 70% of the things i'd been dreading for over 3 months!
Of all the declutter, minimalist, and organizing channels I have to say that as much as I like them and they've helped me, I just really love your personality and the way you look t things and explain things the most on RUclips! Thank you!
I knew a woman who got tired of her husband and teens not helping wash dishes and she went "on strike". She packed away all the dishes, and got one set of dishes in a different for each person. When they got home she showed them the dishes, had each one pick a color, and told them they could only use their own color and were responsible for washing their own dishes and making sure they had them done before they would need them again. When this worked, she brought back the hostage dishes. It worked, they started helping. It was pretty funny but effective.
I have just met you on RUclips today. I really like your tips and you have inspired me to declutter some surfaces in my bedroom and bathroom TODAY! The most discouraging thing for me is that I am a 73 year old widow and I cannot even keep my house decluttered and neat - living alone! It is no one’s fault but my own. Feeling like a total failure. I have basically been “decluttering” since I lost my husband 5 years ago.
Hi. Hope you're well? First & foremost - you're not a failure. Losing someone is one of the hardest things you'll have to deal with in life - clutter is a long way down the list. One can watch videos on the topic till the cows come home (please excuse expression) but if you're not ready to do it - nothing will help. Having to re-adjust to living on your own is huge - your life as you knew it was changed completely. It's NOT clutter - in your case emotions play a big part in the process - if it's taking you 5 years to process things - then that's what it took. & throwing items out when one isn't in a right frame of mind can lead to regret later. Now is the right time to do it - you will get it done. Believe in you - GOOD LUCK ☘️👍
Very applicable video not draconian or brutal. I want to be relaxed when I declutter. I have set a schedule for the whole year. That is for example each room per month. Which means I will visit each room three times a year. Happy cleaning ladies and gentlemen 😊
Helped my Ex declutter almost 300 shirts/tshirts in FIFTEEN MINUTES(after washing and sorting into piles). Made a few promises to him first. The time limit. HE gets to choose what goes and what stays. THREE is NOT a hard and fast number, we could go higher based on how difficult it is to get thru the first pile. Empty moving box(wardrobe box) next to the door for the outgoing stuff. Sorted color piles of all tshirts, ex red, blue, green, white, etc. Your going to make at least THREE WAVES THRU EACH PILE, before moving to the next one. FIRST WAVE: Start with the SMALLEST pile, toss stained or worn items. SECOND WAVE: Toss any you will never wear. THIRD WAVE: Keep your FAVE three from that pile, put them on hangers and either toss the rest of the pile or set it aside for an extra wave. Was it a hard choice? Keep ONE extra if you were stuck on choosing between two. *Immediately hang the keepers up in the closet, as you go along. Do the same with the next color pile. Did the same with his plaids, dress shirts, hoodies, and jeans/pants. We noticed he tended to purchase similar items, repeatedly because most of his clothing was packed away. Now he is VERY happy with all the clothing he kept and only added two extra shirts back because they were his fave color. By the time we got thru the third color pile of tshirts....he was having fun. Because we hung up the keepers as we went along, his closet was color sorted when we finished. Not kidding when I say that he freakin LOVED it!!!!
Helpful tip for those with elderly parents and/or those with limited living space. When my mom downsized to assisted living she had limited space to put out all the decorative items that she had collected over the years. We were lucky in that she had a large closet-sized storage space available to her so I sorted all of her decorative items into separate totes, one for each season winter, spring, summer, and fall. The tote contained enough items to "redecorate" her little efficiency apartment each season and included door wreaths, knick-knacks, wall hangings, swags, etc. Once per season I'd retrieve a tote from the storage closet and trade out her current decorations for the "new season" decorations. She loved the feeling of having 'new' things to look at and this satisfied her sense of ownership of these items. She loved knowing that she could still touch these things at different times throughout the year and it sparked memories which provided her with stories to share about her life. My mom was a pretty-high maintenance chick and so she had a lot of things including clothes too. Eventually she let me do the same thing with her clothing - splitting it out into seasonally stored totes which allowed her to better utilize her limited closet and dresser space daily.
The phrase that I felt like stuck out the most was "The Why" to give you the motivation. I have gone room by room, closet by closet, drawer by drawer for about 2 years now. I have had numerous obstacles that have slowed me down from beginning full time employment as a teacher, to a summer long of pneumonia, then was in a car accident then a few months later began having seizures. During my sick periods I have watched a lot of decluttering and organizing videos. I recently tackled the two messiest rooms in the house: my boys shared bedroom and the large office/craft room as I began to heal from the cluster seizures and medication adjustment. I was about to tackle my closet next then get back to work and I had more seizures this week, so had to up the meds again. I am not giving up, but needed more encouragement and motivation to get to and through my closet, so I watched your video. That why statement stuck out, so I wrote that down on a note card along with "clutter is just unmade decisions" something I heard in another video and taped them to my dresser near my closet. I'm going to get back at it as soon as I am able. Thank you for sharing video!
you are doing awesome despite your many setbacks and struggles with seizures...i know a child who was having seizures and ending up twice a week going to ER in ambulance...all conventional meds were not working,so she went to facebook group that was about her child's illness,a chromosome nineteen issue, and asked if anyone was dealing with seizures with their child, someone answered and said CBD was the only thing that worked. no side effects . Now this child is starting to talk, and changing in positive ways ,and not acting part zombie from drugs...Also,when talking to the grandmother last, the child has had no seizures....i hope it is ok to post this but, i know seizures are so hard to deal with and can be life threatening...take care, all the best to you on your journey
I have removed first the largest items to declutter..chairs curio cabinet..11 pieces of furniture. Now Im following your advice..I'm doing an hour a week.of little stuff...small hand tools..extra Xmas decorations. ..extra plates/silverware. Extra oil paintings I donate everything to help people at Goodwill stay employed..it's in my daily route so I donate often. I love this video
I declutter every day, and I was so inspired by your video that I decided to clean a kitchen drawer, the messiest one. I made a deal with myself that I wouldn’t end up cleaning the whole kitchen. I reminded myself multiple times not to dive into cleaning too deep so I wouldn’t be overwhelmed. The result is three bags of garbage waiting by the door, totally rearranged stuff in the drawers, and I am too tired to feel joy. But I’m learning. Thank you 🙏
Thank you Taryn for a reality video. You made me realize that doing a little of something is way better than just not tackling it because i can't spend hours on it! That's a great take away from your awesome video. Thank u❤❤ 😊
I loved your video, and found it very helpful. I agree with everything you said. I was de-cluttering for a while after my husband passed, but never finished. You have motivated me to begin again. Thank you. You have good ideas.
Thank you for some great content. Two areas you touched on at the end are storing things under your bed and making your bed. I find storing things under the bed undesirable as they do get dusty and it's so much easier to just dry mop the floor. I don't want to have to dust containers under my bed! The second thing is how long it takes to make your bed. I timed myself several years ago, and it does take less than 60 seconds. That is what convinced me to make it everyday. We also have a queen bed and I don't want a king because I'm pretty sure it would take longer!
I have a king,it’s big,but I no longer struggle with figuring out which end of the sheet goes on first…kings are square..and I don’t care if the design,if there is one, faces the right way.
I have used the little bit of leftover shampoo added to my hand soap or used it as dish soap when I run out. It also works good as a hand wash for bras or underwear in a pinch, socks too. This way I can get rid of the empty bottles. 🧦👙🙌🫖
I have a very small kitchen. My cabinets hold food and spices my oven holds my pots and pans my oven draw holds baking pans and lids. My dishwasher holds my dishes ,bowls and glasswsre my food pantry holds canned goods on the sides i use push pins to hold spatulas large spoons laddies etc. i have a oval crock pot i keep on top of my refrigerator and a air fryer i have to keep on the counter. I really don't have room for anything. But i dont like cluttered counters. So i work with what i have. I wash and dry my dishes as i go. Would love to have the space most of you people are calling small.
Your content is so real. Your drawers are stuff you use and surprises of stuff to throw away. You have a very easy to achieve sensible approach to minimizing and decluttering. Great workshop!
I have learned MORE in the past hour than in all.the books I bought to figure this out. We just spent 10 months renovating a gutted house, living with minimal belongings. The first month we washed dishes in a pail! When I got home, I felt overwhelmed by the STUFF I have...as I unpacked, I began purging what I had brought back. And then... When I stopped for coffee, your channel came up! Thank you for everything you have put into these videos!
Thank u for the inspiration today! While listening to your video I decluttered my pantry, a utility drawer and a side closet. Took about 40 minutes total and all 3 areas are tidy and minimal! U rock!
Talking through items is very helpful. So often, we end up just keeping things if we can't easily decide and not making good progress. I like the questions/thought process you suggested using. This more detailed back story is something missing in most videos in this category. I think the "why" is so important to focus on, I think it takes away some of the attachments to our belongings- there's a bigger goal than our possessions. Thanks for a really excellent video!
I like these kind of videos that I can actually get good tips while I clean my house; but also, I like that is not a marketing video with a cleaning tile, tire of those videos that promote a bunch of things when is suppose to be a decluttering video or those that are like waste your time looking at me while I decide if keep in this or throw away. Now I only listen once in a while videos like this and then work in tidying and cleaning my house. Thanks 🙏🏼
I love your logic and reasoning especially regarding the electronics !!! I have all my products AWAY Can’t bear any products on display! I started with my one draw a time . We always air our beds for about half an hour It s the healthy way to go! 🥰
You can be a motivational speaker! You motivate, encourage, advise and live by example. I'm always motivated each time I watch your video and will get off my butt to go clear away something or declutter or throw. Thank you!!!
OMG this is so much like my story ❤ I struggled with cleaning, we tried a few cleaning services and were not satisfied with them, but I just make everyone to clean after themselves and it’s hard cse they just don’t care and brake things and everyone is struggling, but overall learning it my way and respect my knowledge and my effort when I do something for them
This is the best video I have seen in the topic of decluttering. While listening I put away a lot of stuff in my kitchen and living room that were making it look cluttered, and I haven't noticed them beforehand! It feels soooo freeing ❤
I think a trip to the Goodwill first might work to remind me of STUFF that other people have already had the courage to part with. It’s really hard for me to part with stuff that I’m just used to seeing around me.
Taryn, I just came across your channel and I’m so glad. Your ideas and suggestions about declutterring are just great and helpful. Thank you so much for sharing your ideas and advice.
This is so amazing. I love the idea of the expiration dates. That is the best sold by date, not that it is a must go date. It does not magically go from good to bad , PRANK on that date. As you said, use wisdom. If it is still sealed and not rusted it is probably fine! I have winter, spring, summer, Autumn, and Christmas decor. That is it!I rotate on the season date. Works for me . I love your idea and I will be sharing your channel! Love it! And yes Death Cleaning is perfect.. My kids won’t want most of my stuff. They have their own. From time to time I ask my kids, “is there any thing you can think of that I ought to put your name on it?”
Local veterinary clinics will take towels and blankets as well. I come from the field and we always appreciated any towels, rags, and blankets for recovery and in the cages.
I go through decluttering phases. I just started back down the rabbit hole. Thank you for sharing your gentle reminder that any progress is success by sharing your pearls of wisdom.
I really appreciated this video. Thank you! Im recovering from c-ptsd/ add symptoms/ side effects and this was such a great simply put, logical , intelligent way to explain how to declutter. I appreciated the whys you explain because for my mind , I understand, absorb and remember the information better. Thanks!!!!❤😊🌺
Very entertaining!! I am 74 and I'm happily living by myself.. After watchimg your video I've realised I dont need the same amount of "stuff" in my kitchen or realistically in my whole house.. Yes get rid and de-clutter.. At the end of my days and hopefully not for a long time yet my Family won't need to go through everything.. I'm still using my crown green bowls!! I go hiking regularly so maybe rucksack, waterproofs and boots etc will be the things my famy will have to deal with.. not extra pots and pans etc ha ha!! Thankyou xxx 😊❤
Greetings. Hope you're well? On the subject of why you keep things & what happens to them when you pass - if you're single or have family is a consideration. Whats sentimental to you mightened be to someone else. If you have sentimental items that you can give to someone - great but after that things can't be sold or given to charity will end up in a skip. You've some good tip here. When i got a house one small thing I did was after buying cushions - i just bought different cushion covers which as you said can be changed for seasons or events & are easy to store.
I have decades of Christmas decorations. All stored upstairs in the barn. Thanks to you I have a plan. Yes, it involves Swedish death cleaning ♥️ Canning equipment and holiday pans are in the barn too. Yay for storage out of the house.
Hey Taryn thank you so much. Your videos have really helped me and my husband get rid of loads of stuff and make our home much nicer. You've also helped me think about my spending habits and realise I don't need to constantly buy things for the sake of it. Thank you! 😊
This is the most helpful, common sense video I have ever seen. You are easy to listen to and are so concise! You covered everything quickly, and every point you made was important and hit home! I’m watching the second time. Thank you!
Thank you!! Other videos I’ve watched have said don’t have two backpacks .. only one .. but one is for one thing is one for the other so … I don’t think it’s wrong .
Yes of course the pantry things…. For those who would eat that the day before it would expire, then toss it the very next day.. ugh!! Yes. I decant some things. I buy things in bulk. Like 25 pounds of flour and sugar and rice…. It will all be fine! I also have a container to hold those amounts. I pretty much only have seasonal decor. I dont have a coffee table out living room is so small. We have a table by each sitting area and that is it. I clear closets out with reckless abandon. If I dont use it , Why? We have nothing in the electronic in the bed room, we have an alarm clock and our CPAP machines in there. That is about it. True it is better an any thing is that glows. We live in the country and have trees surrounding out home. I love that. I appreciate your input and wisdom, thank you for sharing. I appreciate your ideas. The only thing we have under out bed, is our fire box. It is little and fits well under there. My Mr. Makes a huge mess of the bed. Eegads it takes a few minuits to make…
One thing I’ve decided to do is alter my bed throws. They’re very heavy. I’m going to cut them in half or even thirds. Then it’ll be easier and quicker to make the bed. They’re only on the end to dress it anyway. I’ll also be able to wash them easier instead of a specialist launderette.
I highly recommend using a loose version of the minimilists "packing party". I haven’t done it with my whole house, but did with the kitchen when we renovated. Everything moved into another room, packed into boxes so the items would stay clean. Then we only pulled the items we needed as we needed them when we were putting the room back together. I was able to condense the left over items after a week or so into fewer boxes, which we then stored for a few more months, just in case. Over those months maubea handful more items came out. We had started improvising to avoid searching through the boxes, for example: using a large knife/kitchen scissors to cut a pizza instead of the pizza wheel. I imagine this process could be done for eaxh area of your home until you've worked through each area. We're currently renovating my daughters bedroom, her stuff is everywhere right now! Once we get her back in, it'll be just her bed and bedside table to start with. Then we'll add as she's needing it until we see what's left! My favourite functional kitchen decor piece is my gluggle jug, we always have a water jug out on the table and I decided that was the piece I was going to find a "fun" piece to have out on the table instead of our regular glass jug!
CANNED GOODS: canned goods can last an incredibly long time with one exception: dented cans. You shouldn't exceed the sale date by very much; the cans are lined inside so plain steel can be used. A crease from a dent in the can results in the food product being In contact with bare metal. That's why the cans taste metallic.
Your video got a like and subscribe from me. Often, people overthink their abilities to complete tasks. You not only help people feel that they don't have to complete tasks in one sweep, you also have a great delivery of making things make sense. You bring a lot more to this video than you think. This is a great video for not just organizing, but it can help a potential hoarder out of the decline of keeping everything they just dont need!❤
At 9:11 about the garage sale or selling online is so true. I made $600 selling things I bought and hardly used, but I had boundaries with buyers. They had to pick the item up somewhere close to me. I was unemployed during that summer time. I wouldn't bother while working 9-5 with a busy family life unless the item is expensive.
Omg!!!!! You are fantastic!!!! You are now my favorite declutter lady and organizer- you are real and you show it like it is and makes me feel normal!!!! Thank you so much!!!! Are you doing any classes????
We also got rid of our coffee table. We have small side tables in our living room and basement that is sufficient. Not only are coffee tables a catch all, but it definitely opens up the space when they are removed!
Thank you for sharing this information. I'm in need of all the information you shared and was in the process of getting rid of some things. You have a great plan that will keep me from becoming overwhelmed. ❤
Love your videos, this one is extra great! What seems funny to me: You talk about a tiny apartment with 90 squarfeet - this is a big apartment in Europe and fits easily 4 - 5 people ;-)
Girl, we’re like on the same wave with these , U mentioned almost every single one of my guidelines that I’ve implemented in my decluttering, organizing, cleaning routines to establish an organized decluttered minimal cleaning routines that I use every time
I'm a new subscriber and I'm loving your content. I agree with so many of your ideas. I'm well on my way to decluttering my home, but I get new inspiration and new motivation by watching videos like yours. Thank you!
Love your channel. It's so strange to me that the kitchen would be cluttered with stuff that's got nothing to do with cooking. My kitchen is one of the few rooms I don't have a clutter problem with. To be clear, I can always get rid of bowls, cups, lids, but it's not a horror movie like my basement, a portion of my garage and the closets. I got work to do.
Good question! I don't think he did - but he also has a higher tolerance than I do for mess, which seems to often be the case with people living together 😊
Yeah, my generation and older generations have basically accepted husbands as additional children to pick up after, sadly and unfortunately. Men in my age group and older aren't fully functioning adults. Hopefully, future generations will do better and won't treat their wives like servants.
I have a tip for you that absolutely works. To remove the odor of onions or garlic from your hands, hold something stainless steel under cold running water and rub it over your skin. I do it with a knife, but I suppose it would be safe to use a spoon
Thanks for this and all your helpful videos. Regarding expiration date, I and my husband are sometimes lenient with those dates. I have friends who have lived in poorer countries, where what they buy there is food from America with expired dates! No problem.
I’m absolutely loving this video and I have watched thousands of decluttering videos over the past 10 years. Are used to watch things on Email before RUclips with even a big thing. The one comment thread that I see all of these is that all of the women are working running RUclips businesses and do everything for the children., everything for the home, cleaning, organising all of the holidays, birthdays, gifting for other friends and family etc. They don’t mention where they have their husband fit into their daily routines… Why is this…? Are they actually not doing anything other than mowing the lawn?…?
This was a useful watch. I am a chaos declutterer. I just wander from place to place and do a bit of this and that and then I notice that my apartment looks like a bomb went off because nothing is in its place anymore. Like "Ooh this thing from place A would be better to be kept in place B" But then I have no room in place B so I start working on place B, move on to place C and finally I'm in place H and the thing from place A is still on my dining table. Now I'm on day 3 of decluttering and seem to achieve absolutely nothing. Though I have a tiny studio so obviously the multiple donation bags, trashbags etc. take a lot of floor space so I guess once I get those out of here it will look better but like I feel like I have just made more mess.
I agree on the expiry date ! Expiry date is a "goodness guaranteed period" to ease the control in the market/selling process. Beyond that, we need to check the actual food condition manually, thing that not allowed in supermarket because almost definitely will ruin the packaging.

Great job! And thank you so much for sharing :)
That's how I do it too!❤❤. And I'm not even 70!!
Haha. That’s me. I’ve been working on my office/music room in 15 min chunks for a year now.
You go girl.
You would find Dana k White's process helpful.

Too funny - sounds like a great strategy!!
I love the fact that your video has closed captioning. Love your channel and the information on decluttering.

Thank you so much for sharing! Don’t feel like a failure at all - it’s not easy and this takes time. You’re doing great! ❤️

Yes, Nancy, I know the feeling!!! I am in the same boat! Still trying to declutter from room to room daily! It is overwhelming and stressful! 😢

Wow, great job and thank you for all of those tips!! I bet he totally loved it!
Amazing 👏
I love this
I love this idea!!

What a great idea, love that! Thank you for sharing :)
What a delight it must be to have you as a daughter 💘
@kthomas661 that is awesome advice, than you!
Love this! Great idea!! I’m going to do this for myself 😂
Great idea!
Thank you so much, Olivia!! ☺
you are doing awesome despite your many setbacks and struggles with seizures...i know a child who was having seizures and ending up twice a week going to ER in ambulance...all conventional meds were not working,so she went to facebook group that was about her child's illness,a chromosome nineteen issue, and asked if anyone was dealing with seizures with their child, someone answered and said CBD was the only thing that worked. no side effects .
Thank you so much and SO happy to hear that the video helped you. Sounds like you're doing amazing!!
Well organized! I am done with big declutters. Now it is all about maintaining what I have. My apartment is so much easier to clean.
Thank you Kristi! And amazing job on the decluttering you've done!
Thank you 🙏
Love it! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you Taryn for a reality video. You made me realize that doing a little of something is way better than just not tackling it because i can't spend hours on it! That's a great take away from your awesome video. Thank u❤❤ 😊
@@gardengirl3142 I’m so glad!! 😊❤️
I loved your video, and found it very helpful. I agree with everything you said. I was de-cluttering for a while after my husband passed, but never finished. You have motivated me to begin again. Thank you. You have good ideas.
You are so welcome! I'm very sorry to hear about your husband ❤
This is SO organized even viewing is time-stamped. Thanks again
Thank you so much!!
I bet you are right that a king would take longer! Thank you so much for sharing :)
Thanks for sharing!!
I’m glad you spoke about expiration date. I really dislike seeing people throw food out all the times.
I do too - I see so many people making decisions on the date and all I see is food waste and people tossing perfectly good items!
Thank you so much!! I'm so glad you liked it!
Wow, what a compliment - thank you so much!!
Thank u for the inspiration today! While listening to your video I decluttered my pantry, a utility drawer and a side closet. Took about 40 minutes total and all 3 areas are tidy and minimal! U rock!
Amazing, I love that so much! Great job on getting so much done!! 😊
Thank you so much, I'm so glad you like the video and I so appreciate your comment!!
Thanks 🙏🏼
Aw thank you, I'm so glad! Best of luck with your decluttering!!
One of the best videos I've seen in a long time with new information! Thank you so much!❤
I'm so happy to hear that! ❤
I love your logic and reasoning especially regarding the electronics !!!
I have all my products AWAY Can’t bear any products on display! I started with my one draw a time . We always air our beds for about half an hour It s the healthy way to go! 🥰
Love it, thank you so much for watching!
If hubby didn’t want a cleaning person, that means he would be it!🤷🏾♀️
Right?!
This made me so angry!
My thoughts exactly!
✅u make a lot more sense than some other declutter ppl!
And seems kinder.
You can be a motivational speaker! You motivate, encourage, advise and live by example. I'm always motivated each time I watch your video and will get off my butt to go clear away something or declutter or throw. Thank you!!!
Ahhh thank you so much, that makes me so happy!!
Hooray! Somebody else who still understands about expiration dates!!!
Thank you!
I have used unwanted shampoos as a cleaner for sinks and toilets. Cleans well, just doesn’t sanitize.
Love that idea!
Excellent idea!
I do that too👍
OMG this is so much like my story ❤ I struggled with cleaning, we tried a few cleaning services and were not satisfied with them, but I just make everyone to clean after themselves and it’s hard cse they just don’t care and brake things and everyone is struggling, but overall learning it my way and respect my knowledge and my effort when I do something for them
Thank you for sharing!! 😊❤️
I love the bonne maman jars too. They are terrific for all kinds of things.
So handy!
This is the best video I have seen in the topic of decluttering. While listening I put away a lot of stuff in my kitchen and living room that were making it look cluttered, and I haven't noticed them beforehand! It feels soooo freeing ❤
Amazing, thank you so much and great job!! ❤
Thank you for sharing all your tips and hard work! Whistle while you work🌹
You are so welcome!
I think a trip to the Goodwill first might work to remind me of STUFF that other people have already had the courage to part with. It’s really hard for me to part with stuff that I’m just used to seeing around me.
Yes, so true!
Good idea 😊
Taryn, I just came across your channel and I’m so glad. Your ideas and suggestions about declutterring are just great and helpful. Thank you so much for sharing your ideas and advice.
Oh yay I'm so glad you are here, Stella - thank you so much!
I loved this video! Thank you for down to earth, very practical advice!I subscribed! I WILL watch more! You are GOOD!
I'm so glad you're here! Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much!!! 😊❤
I love your videos!! My house is not cluttered but you inspire me and give me so many ideas!!
Ahhh I'm so glad - thank you so much!!
Yes the date is a suggestion … it all depends on product and tempature and how it was stored.
For sure! 😊
Local veterinary clinics will take towels and blankets as well. I come from the field and we always appreciated any towels, rags, and blankets for recovery and in the cages.
Thank you so much!
I go through decluttering phases. I just started back down the rabbit hole. Thank you for sharing your gentle reminder that any progress is success by sharing your pearls of wisdom.
You are so welcome!
You are so welcome, Amber. I am so glad it is helpful!! 😊❤
You really do have an understanding of the clutterer mindset, inside and out.
Thank you so much!
Awesome! And you are so welcome! ❤
This video was so helpful, thank you!
You're so welcome!
I'm 77 any i love my jeans and cargo pants. Thats what i wear. Forget about treads wear whats comfortable for you.
Yes! I love my jeans too!!
Awesome, thank you so much for sharing and watching!
I’m watching the ENTIRE workshop while decluttering. This is helpful. Thanks.
Love that!! Good luck with your decluttering, you can do it!
This is by far the best decluttering video I have ever watched. Thank you!
Thank you so much!!! 😊
I have decades of Christmas decorations. All stored upstairs in the barn. Thanks to you I have a plan. Yes, it involves Swedish death cleaning ♥️
Canning equipment and holiday pans are in the barn too. Yay for storage out of the house.
Amazing! Let me know how it’s going!
Hey Taryn thank you so much. Your videos have really helped me and my husband get rid of loads of stuff and make our home much nicer. You've also helped me think about my spending habits and realise I don't need to constantly buy things for the sake of it. Thank you! 😊
That makes me so happy!! 😊
This is the most helpful, common sense video I have ever seen. You are easy to listen to and are so concise! You covered everything quickly, and every point you made was important and hit home! I’m watching the second time. Thank you!
I'm SO happy to hear that! Thank you for your sweet comments!!
Thank you!! Other videos I’ve watched have said don’t have two backpacks .. only one .. but one is for one thing is one for the other so … I don’t think it’s wrong .
Thank you!!
Thank you very very much for having the words on the screen so I can read them. 😊😊😊
You're so welcome 😊
This is such a special channel. ❤️
Ahh thank you so much ❤
Yes of course the pantry things…. Eegads it takes a few minuits to make…
Thank you for sharing! ☺❤
Awesome job! I decluttered 3 drawers in my kitchen while listening to your Wonderful advice🎉😊
I'm so glad - love that so much!
I'm new to your channel, and I like you because you seem real and down to earth. Not just in it for subscribers.
Thank you so much!! I am so glad you are here!
Great idea - that would definitely cut down on time to make the bed I'd say 😊
Awesome! Thank you for sharing!
You are so helpful and are realistic with your method. Thank you! I hope to see many more of your videos! I also like your closed captioning.
Thank you so much!!
Great point! 😊
Also, tomato products are acidic so the seals may deteriorate. Otherwise, yep if they are sealed they're good.
Ty for video I decluttered while watching you.
Love that!! 😊
Thank you so much!! 😊❤
I decluttered my kitchen counters last year. It looks so much better and easier to clean as u say, no moving lots of things here and there.
For sure!
Yeah! Selling always sounds like it would be easy but I agree - if you are working and busy you have to set some rules to make to make it worth it!
Get a friend to sit in the kitchen and read these questions out aloud! Motivation and hilarity!
Love that!
You’re so inspiring. Thank you for the lists. I love how you talk things through: it helps me talk things through while I’m decluttering.
You are so welcome!! ☺❤
❤ Thank you. This is motivating. Organizing/decluttering is never ending. I have a plan when I get home from vacation 😊
I'm so glad! Wishing you luck! 😊
Omg!!!!! You are fantastic!!!! You are now my favorite declutter lady and organizer- you are real and you show it like it is and makes me feel normal!!!! Thank you so much!!!! Are you doing any classes????
Thank you so much, that makes me so happy!! 😊❤️ I don’t have any classes but I do post RUclips videos twice a week usually!
We also got rid of our coffee table. We have small side tables in our living room and basement that is sufficient. Not only are coffee tables a catch all, but it definitely opens up the space when they are removed!
For sure :)
Thank you for sharing this information. I'm in need of all the information you shared and was in the process of getting rid of some things. You have a great plan that will keep me from becoming overwhelmed. ❤
I’m so glad to hear this! Wishing you lots of decluttering luck 😊❤️
This video was so informative. I'm taking back my space, and I have been binging your videos. Thank you!!!
That's amazing to hear!! You are so welcome!
What a lovely attic
Aww thank you!
You are spot on with the expiration dates.
Thank you!
Thank you for this amazing video! It is probably the most useful decluttering video on RUclips.
Ahhhh thank you so much!!!
Love your videos, this one is extra great! What seems funny to me: You talk about a tiny apartment with 90 squarfeet - this is a big apartment in Europe and fits easily 4 - 5 people ;-)
Thank you so much! And that is such a good point 😊
Thank you for you wonderful help, and soothing push to get house together!!!💐
You are so welcome!
My local library has specialty baking pans you can check out. I love that idea for something you may only use once a year. ❤
That is amazing!! ❤
Girl, we’re like on the same wave with these , U mentioned almost every single one of my guidelines that I’ve implemented in my decluttering, organizing, cleaning routines to establish an organized decluttered minimal cleaning routines that I use every time
** I shared this video with MANY who I know will benefit greatly if they too include the tips u listed❤❤
@@kristalhumphreys4621 love it!!!

I'm a new subscriber and I'm loving your content. I agree with so many of your ideas. I'm well on my way to decluttering my home, but I get new inspiration and new motivation by watching videos like yours. Thank you!
Yay, welcome! And thank you so much for your amazing comment 😊
Love your videos! Thank you! 😊
Thank you so much, Celeste!! 😊
I think it’s because we spend so much time in the kitchen and then it just became a catchall for everything! 😊
A basement I would so so loved to have a basement
Did your husband clean as much as you when he didn’t want to hire a cleaning person?
Good question! I don't think he did - but he also has a higher tolerance than I do for mess, which seems to often be the case with people living together 😊
This was the same thing I asked myself. Women have to take on so much sigh.
I’ll bet you knew the answer to that before you even asked it. 😉
Yeah, my generation and older generations have basically accepted husbands as additional children to pick up after, sadly and unfortunately. Men in my age group and older aren't fully functioning adults. Hopefully, future generations will do better and won't treat their wives like servants.

So appreciate all these suggestions 💕very helpful ty
You are so welcome!
I have a tip for you that absolutely works. To remove the odor of onions or garlic from your hands, hold something stainless steel under cold running water and rub it over your skin. I do it with a knife, but I suppose it would be safe to use a spoon
Oh wow, I am going to have to try this - thank you!!
Great tips...thanks! 😊🙌
Thank you so much!!
Thanks for this and all your helpful videos. Regarding expiration date, I and my husband are sometimes lenient with those dates. I have friends who have lived in poorer countries, where what they buy there is food from America with expired dates! No problem.
Thank you so much for sharing!
yess.... I am a bit of "collector" I have to be in the mood to declutter or downsize but it always feels great after
I’m absolutely loving this video and I have watched thousands of decluttering videos over the past 10 years.
Great balanced informational info♥️♥️♥️Thank you 🎯
You are so welcome!! ❤️
I luv this plan $50 or less donate !!!!!
Awesome!!! 🤩
Thank you so much and wishing you lots of luck with your decluttering!!
Very informative ❤
Thank you!!
As you use them, transfer your cotton balls into kitchen storage bags - ideally, a quart-sized bag. It truly makes a world of difference.
Oooh I’ll try that! Thank you!
Deb here. I am not clear why after using the cotton ball, you would put them in a quart sized bag. Why not throw them directly in the trash?
@@rickgonzalez1218 She means to store them in the smaller bag before you use them :) That large bag they come in can get unwieldy!
I agree on the expiry date !
Expiry date is a "goodness guaranteed period" to ease the control in the market/selling process. Beyond that, we need to check the actual food condition manually, thing that not allowed in supermarket because almost definitely will ruin the packaging.
For sure! I hate throwing away food that is still good :)
