As an X childcare worker I have to say that an important part of the day is the lunch break for teachers. It’s the perfect time to recharge your batteries so that you can go back into the classroom in a refreshed frame of mind. A very busy job where teachers have to be on there toes all day long. Lunch breaks are a vital time for mental health. It is not baby sitting!!!
as a former 4th grade teacher, we had a lunch but never had time to take not even time to go pee in an 8hr day. sad. none of us ever had time to sit down and eat. too much running.
It's about teens who work and don't want a lunch break or be forced to take one... Not about childcare workers!

I feel for Princess Katherine. She can't be feeling very well at all and the expectations have to be overwhelming. She needs peace in order to heal. I wish the gossipy tabloids would leave her alone.

Something interesting that Glenn Kirshner of Justice Matters said, was to remind us that Trump was indicted in four jurisdictions and is out on bail for all of them. As an example, in the DC case, part of the conditions for his release, is that he cannot commit any crimes, state or federal while out on bail. Glenn pointed out that with the current trial he’s in, he’s violated his gag order 10 times, which is criminal contempt, a crime in NY. So this would be a reason to jail him. We will see what judge Merchan decides to do. He had a hearing on the violations and we are awaiting his ruling. Fingers crossed that Trump spends some time in confinement!!

Glenn Kirshner is terrific - his very explanations of the law are thorough.
I was listening to a past judge the other day, and she said that the judge could put him in jail but not during the trial that Trump would want. It is up to the judge to decide the number of days. This could come during deliberations, or looking at the time between trials, it can be done then.
I think that because the Court does not want to rile his base to do something drastic, Rumpy will likely only be fined. I will be surprised if he is jailed, but I would be happy for him to spend all his remaining days on earth in jail!

Children don’t count. That’s why we don’t have universal childcare. By extension, childcare workers are looked at with the same disdain as children. Our educational system has been hollowed out state by state.
Can't imagine I would stay at a job that did not offer breaks. I was a child care worker for 20 years and those breaks are so deserved!

Ever since Harry's marriage to Meghan, and the conflicts between the brothers, I always felt it was going to affect Catherine the most, even more so than William. William is angry (so is Harry) but Catherine is more hurt, and more vulnerable. No judgment on the cause of the conflict, but I feel for Catherine as it didn't turn out the way she imagined it to be.

Maryann, the Louisiana law was about child workers not childcare workers. A representative who owns the Smoothie King fast food franchise said the child workers don't want to stop for lunch. He said repealing the requirement for lunch break was for that reason. Of course, what if they DID want lunch. Too bad now.

After my husband had cancer and last day of his radiation, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. As a nurse I frankly did not want chemo/radiation, my surgeon grabbed me by shoulders and what he said is not good for this audience. I had extreme chemo and 47 radiation treatments. I was ok until my six year old grandson looked at me and “don’t leave until I grow up”. My life imploded, until then no crying or looking backward, but now I closed everyone off. No sleep, refused to eat, did not talk to my husband, then one day my husband said we “are going home”. Went to my home place in WVa, spend time with my family, climbed hills, visited sites of childhood, and got myself in mental tow. But my dears, dark days indeed, and not just a few. My heart hurts for Princess, agony to look at her children and realize she might not see them meet adulthood.
