I didn’t really realize how good he was until he hit the field. Glad we got him over my proposed idea of bijan even though I love what he could have been for us

@@mintcarrier Really? I’m convinced he’d have gone 1-1 in 2022 if he were eligible to come out after his sophomore campaign. If he’s in shape, adds a bit of core strength and stays conditioned, there isn’t a single guard who can stop him. Other than AD, he’ll be the best iDL youngster since Suh. And that’s really saying something (Fletch, Dexter, Simmons, Quinnen, etc.), as there have been terrific iDLs taken in the past 10-15 years. As much as I loved Byron Murphy from Texas, it’s a joke that he went only 7 spots after Carter - albeit in different draft classes. WAJ is another generational player. Still, if the QB class wasn’t as great (on paper) as it was in ‘23’s class, and JC never got into that car accident/incident, he may have gone 1-1. At worst, he was the second best non-QB in 2023. Yes, Bijan is a terrific weapon. But when you are coming off a SB and can add a talent like Carter, you never pass that up. I know the Bears were laying the groundwork for the franchise QB they were taking in 2024 (got their ultimate prize selecting first), I’m still a bit stunned they and DET passed on an opportunity to grab JC. Even ATL, to an extent, although they are bizarre. Doesn’t mean their plan won’t work; however, I’ve never seen a team try to get elite WR1, TE1 and RB1 before they had a QB (or good-to-great OL).

@@uncletom356 it’s one thing to dominate the college ranks…but he made a near unprecedented mark since coming in second to one…no one could have honestly said they saw it coming unless they were an extreme JC homer. Howie went and justified me in the end with the RB pickup

@@mintcarrier People were raving more about Carter than Davis on that historic UGA defensive team from 2021. His explosiveness and raw power within a half-second of the snap is truly insane. I remember, once we got NO’s ‘23 first in that hilarious heist of a trade, I used to fantasize of a major trade to replace Fletcher with an even-better prospect, in Carter. To have been able to stay put and only give up a future 4th for Jalen Carter… I’m still amazed. The Jalens will be the major reasons the next SB we make/win. He’s way better than Travon Walker, Jordan Davis (of whom I like more than most), Devonte Wyatt, Nolan Smith and the rest of the elite-elite DL UGA had. Oh, and Kelee Ringo in the (very) early fourth - or 2024 3rd, depending on how you look at the trade - is another heist. Not on Carter’s level, obv. But I really think we have our entire secondary and iDL starters for the next 5-8 years on this team with Q as CB1, Kelee as CB2 (‘25-behind), CDJ as a CB/slot/S, Ed Reed Blankenship, Syd and of course CJGJ. We need depth on the iDL, outside WR and maybe another decent EDGE. If they are able to get Calais, and we get lucky with health, idk how this team won’t be the NFC rep in the SB. Take care. Go Birds. (And Phils)

@@mintcarrier lol no. Everyone knew Carter was a generational talent. Not trying to get into a spat. You’re a fellow Birds and Philly Film Room fan. Just, look at every reputable scout re: Carter. His explosion and punch are second to none. It’s insane we have a more talented Fletch after being in the SB. Thank you ATL for pushing both Carter and Q down to us. Nolan, we’ll have to wait and see. Although, if JD is in shape, hard to imagine both Huff and Smith won’t eat.

Excellent video…jalen carter could definitely be a monster sacks included next year. I shudder to think about what happens if Jordan Davis rounds into shape and takes another step forward!

No just played football through college (small school) and have many friends coaching that I talk to a lot. Plus just continuing to study and learn the game on my own.

Seeing Roby miss an open field tackle on Brock Purdy made me throwed. Thrilled for the new talent in the secondary this season.

Did you guys see Jordan Davis looking swoll and slim af today at their autism fundraiser? If both Carter and Davis can stay healthy and in-shape, we'll be playing in LA in February.
