One of the OG beer reviewers. I always come back to this video every St. Paddy's Day. Hands down best beer reviews on RUclips. I hope all is well Joe D.
I’ve been watching your reviews ever since the beginning of time! Every time I want to enjoy a good beer and watch a review I come here to watch your reviews my friend! Watching this review while I’m drinking a Guinness too! Cheers! 🍻 1-30-2024!
Do you have any videos, or info for new coming beer enthusiasts such as myself? I thought I was allergic to alcoholic drinks all my life.. Turns out I'm only allergic to chemicals and medicine alcohols..
There is a misconception of Guiness. It has a very low ABV at 4.2% and is lower than people think in calories at 125 considering the flavor it delivers. Think about how much flavor Guiness has and then compare those facts to say... Miller light which clocks in at 4.2% and 96 calories. I choose Guiness all day over Miller Light!
I was asking like what are some good beers to get started on... I've only tried the common beers like Coors, Miller, Bud light, bud light lime and guiness...
Had Guinness for the first time today. Really enjoyed it with the nitrogen cartridge. What beer would you recommend that is lighter, and that you could drink more easily?
@Paulpunkrocks i thoroughly enjoy boddington's as a session beer, but i do know what you mean. i think it's necessary to try many different types of beers in different scenarios (just one beer, a six pack, session--all night) to truly appreciate what boddington's has to offer.
Why did you buy it in a can and not a bottle? Whats the difference between the taste of beer in a bottle compared to cans? And whats the difference between brown, green and clear bottles and do the color really make that much of a difference?
@footballelmaestro123 also, when you get it in a pub it's on tap.....which comes from a Keg....which is essentially a giant beer can? I don't see why it's poured differently depending on the size of the container from which it comes on.
The greatest drink known to man. I work in a bar and have at least two of these a night not only is it good for you it is one of the tastiest things ever (once you get used to it)
Wow you should have took a pic of what a widget collection looked like before it grew the moss. That seems like it would have been interesting. Thanks for watching.
Haha, I am sorry you didn't like it. I am glad that you decided to experiment with beer and try something different. Thanks for commenting and tell a friend.
Its weird, In ireland its recommended that stout is drank at room temperature, i think the logic is that stout is a winter drink and lager is a summer drink.
Alex Tihoan Thanks for sharing your opinion. I respect all opinions and am just happy you took the time to express yours here. Keep watching and tell a friend!
Joe D. I think i don't drink beer also because i hate all alcoholic bevereges , my parents used to give me wine when i was very young and i hated it , now everything with alcohol triggers my brain to make it taste like shit i guess
Alex Tihoan I am very sorry that happened to you! I also have things I don't like cuz of bad memories, but I hope to get over it sooner or later. Thank you for sharing my friend I do hope you'll keep watching!
Lorfmor because it's just another mass produced low quality beer just like Budweiser. While I'm sure it tastes much better fresh from Dublin, i can't attest to that because I've never been there. I have tasted many stout's with much more flavor and complexity. Samuel Smith's oatmeal stout for example, now that is a great stout!
@kareemFromEurope For me it changes all the time but for right now I think "The Abyss" from Deshutes is one of the best I have ever had. Thanks for asking.
hey nice review ! I really like the beer but for some reason, i cant manage to get a decent head when i pour it from a bottle even if i pour my beer very agresivly... any idea? ( were i live, guinness in can is quite hard to find by the way )
just watching this video in 2012 and i dont know if the beginning of this video has been answered but... co2 is a by-product of the reaction of sugar and yeast, which causes the carbonation in beer. now im not positive, but im pretty sure the guinness prefers to use nitrogen instead of co2 to push the beer out of the kegs and cans to give it that small bubble effect, just like old speckled hen(another great beer, comparable to a "light" guinness
The coffee taste is common in stouts and porters. It comes from certain types of malt when its roasted can give that flavor. Also some literally add coffee to the beer. You can try Murphy's Stout, Kona pipeline porter, Young's Chocolate stout. Also Stone brewing makes some great stouts and browns you might like.
@michaelhpedersen no the difference is that when you drink it from the can, it isn't even a stout.. It's just a light lager with guiness flavoring extract added to give it flavor. I'm not saying I don't like it. It's still good, but it really isn't the true flavor and quality that comes out of a keg.
I'm impressed. It was so much fun to watch you drinking a good beer! Thank you very much, now I'm thirsty too, thanks God I have a can of Guinness here to drink. Cheers!
I've tried Guinness a few days ago, and it had quite a strange taste. To be frank, it tasted like a sausage. But, I drank it straight form the bottle, might that be a reason why did it taste like that?
Oh man there are so many out there. Boddingtons, Wells Double Chocolate Stout, Welford, etc. Just look or ask you favorite beer store for them and I am sure they have a few.
Well if you are used to drinking your typical lagers. Then this will have a "stronger" taste. Meaning more of a coffee and bitter chocolate taste and a heavier consistancy while you drink it. But very very good. Thanks for watching and tell a friend.
stout is a type of beer, just like there is lagers, India Pale Ales, Bitters, wheat beers, Belgian Ales, Belgian Trippel and list goes on. There is actually hundreds of different kinds of beers.

Because there are no 0,568l bottles or cans right? Than there are the 0,5l glasses. Draught is sold in 0,44l cans/bottles, extra stout in 0,33l bottles. But there are no 0,44l glasses espacially for the draught, right? Which one do i pour in which glas? Do I drink every Guinness with the original pint or are there sorts I drink with the 0,5l one? I know, you could drink it in any glas, but there are those unwritten laws of what beer should be poured in which glas. In Germany it's usually: Weizen => 0,5l , Pilsner => 0,3l - 0,5 (depends on volume of bottle. Or in a bar if you want a small or a big Pils) , Kölsch => 0,2l. Are there such "rules" for Guinness/Irish beer too?

Kudos for housing that beer in 3 sips
I’m waiting for new reviews brother! Love your vids and have for years, had to revisit this one 👍🏻
hated the taste at first, actually had my cousin finish the can for me... 6 months later it's my go to beer, love the flavour!
Haha, actually I had a very similar experience the first time I tried Guinness as well. Thanks for your comment and for watching!
Seanh2k11 agreed. First time I had Guinness I hated it. Went to a party last month and all they had was Guinness, so I tried it again and I loved it.
That happen to me too except it was 211, I never like 211 back then even a year but then these days man idk how i like the taste of 211.
That was exactly my first experience with Guinness, but as I was about half way through the can I started to enjoy it

Having a Guinness as I watch this review :) Excellent brew. Nice review :)
@imawakeish Thats a good point. Does that mean that bottle conditioned beers are better in the US than somewhere on tap because of the transit time?
It is one of my dreams to have a Guinness from the tap in Ireland. Even here it is better from a good controlled tap.
11 years later, did your dream come true my man?
The gravediggers pub or Bowes pub in Dublin is 2 of the best pints of Guinness in the world
Did you ever get to yet brother
Hey Joe, i love your videos, you seem like a real funny dude. Keep up the good work 😊

whats the difference in taste with a dark beer and like a bud light?

can you drink it from the can? it looks like it just runs out too quick to drink, do you have to pour it?
My favorite beer 🍻
It's one of my favs as well. Thanks for watching!
hey joe. what kind of a chill haze does this one have on it?
Alcohol content is 4.1
Great review. Will there be any upcoming reviews of any swedish beers? Take care.
guinness tastes like cold carbonated miso soup to me. I get a soy flavor from it for some reason.
Thats interesting. Thanks for letting me know. That's why it's really important to try different beers for yourself cuz you just never know.
Guinness leftovers used to go to the Marmite factory, so you're definitely in the right area.
whats the better out of guinness original or guinness draught?
you broke the rules!! your supposed to use a guinness glass lol!

The canned of the bottled version?

I think what you're smelling is a burnt/toasted smell. Stouts and Porters are made by roasting malt or barley, hence the burnt/toasted smell.

spicyrubber regardless of can bottle or draught it should be drank in the original Guinness "tulip" glass not the new curved one
@JoshW23 Guinness on the can suggests it be really ice cold. So go for it. I drink stouts 45-50 degrees.
