Tooth enamel can be repaired. Here is what can damage tooth enamel and how to repair and remineralize your tooth enamel. Tooth enamel is stronger than steel and a very important component of oral health, so learning to repair tooth enamel is very important.

In a recent study, 30 grams of xylitol was consumed as a drink after fasting. There was no conclusion from this study - despite the media headlines - only that, "[the study] does not show that xylitol caused a higher incidence of heart attack, stroke or death." What the study shows is that 30 grams of xylitol, after a fast, in certain subjects, can activate platelets in their blood (this amount is equal to having 60 Zellie’s mints in minutes). Platelets contribute to wound healing by helping to clot blood. We do not know the general health, age, or, more importantly, the oral health of the study subjects; or if they were taking medication.
My oral health recommendation has been - and will continue to be - 1 to 2 grams of xylitol five times a day, after meals, for a total of between 5 to 10 grams per day. Every human body produces 15 grams of xylitol by a metabolism daily process. There have been countless studies over many decades showing the safety of xylitol.
The article highlighted various sugar-substitutes and their use in processed and baked goods, sodas, ice cream, and more. It discussed risks associated with excess consumption and the possible effect on individuals with health conditions, or taking medications.
I understand the concerns and hope this message has helped to clarify the potential disparity between my enthusiasm for xylitol and the surprise generated by this article.

Oh good, thanks! I got scared when I saw the story.
@@gohawks3571 I found out today P & G and Pfizer were the ones behind the press releases to the media.

The other thing I know is xylitol is one of the most expensive sugar alternatives and rarely used in quantity.
I think Zellies and Spry were some of the first to use 100% xylitol in products -because of the price.
You had to have companies NOT focused on shareholders and the $$$$
To think that this study was funded by private equity + the fingers of Pfizer and Pand G in the mix.

Hi I just want to let you know that my dentist found 4 small cavities on my teeth, and after employing some of your strategies I managed to remineralize my teeth and become cavity free. Thank you so much! :)
I wish I did that. Oh well.
Bhai Mujhe bhi bTa do kya Kiya plz😢
Can you share what strategies you used?
@@chirpy8380 sure, you kinda have to go hardcore as soon as you believe you have a cavity.
- I live in Canada, so you'll need to purchase a toothpaste called Prevident Booster. This toothpaste is necessary because it's very high in fluoride.
- after meals brush with this, expectorate, and do not rinse mouth with water. This allows the fluoride to do work. (this is kinda gross but necessary).
- eliminate all processed foods, especially sugary food. Also eat less often.
- keep your mouth shut during the day (don't be a mouth-breather), since mouth-breathing dries out your mouth. Your saliva is basic and has hydroxy-appetite or something like that, that can help re-mineralize your teeth.
- try to keep your mouth shut when sleeping too; consider buying something that tapes your mouth shut when you're sleeping.
- during the day bring a toothbrush with you (very soft bristles), so that if you do eat, you can brush your teeth afterwards.
- this is pretty much what I did and within 2-3 weeks my cavities re-mineralized. And also after your teeth re-mineralizes you really don't need to be this hardcore anymore. There are people out there that thinks swallowing fluoride is bad for you, and this may be true, but in the short-term it's a bit necessary to fix your teeth.
- hope that helps!
Strategies pls?
Hi Ellie! Im a 23 year old woman and I have had mouth health problems for most of my life... I have a lot of cavities despite going to my dentists appointments and always following their recommendations. Thanks to you I undertood the root of my problem and I started making real changes. And most importantly, I finally stopped feeling so guilty about my bad mouth health!! Now I know that I wasn't being irresponsible, I just wasn't told the right information. I can't get a lot of the products you recommend here in Argentina, but Im doing my best to follow your advice!! THANK YOU SO MUCH
Isn't it great. Most dentists are not telling you the information you need they just scare you about cavities and telling you to brush better. Ellie really explains how it works
Can you get kudos need + clover toothpaste. Years ago I started using a natural toothpaste and I have not gotten one cavity. If you can't get that one Tom's Original toothpaste is good to. I also rinse with a drop organic clover essential Oil and ph balanced water.
@@Lifeletnothingholdudown I have to suggest that you should be VERY careful of clove oil in your mouth...it can kill your teeth over time - I would NEVER recommend.
The other thing is that products that work for one person are not necessarily good for everyone. As a DDS working with thousands of patients - it took me 50 years to learn that women's oral health is different from men's .....because our mouth pH fluctuates more than men...and so an oral care product that is acidic - well it may be OK for a man - but not a woman.
It is complex - and sometimes trying new things are not good experiences.
I love that you are interested in oral health - and thank you for your comments. You may like my book Mouth Care Comes Clean - Amazon - which explains more about the mouth bacteria discovered by the Human Microbiome Project in 2015.
@@dr.elliephillips thank you for the heads up on clover. I will be sure to only use till I have my Oral health under control. I take the holistic ayruvedic approach. I have been using the clover and neem toothpaste for I would say a month and my Gums are less swollen due to the clover's anti-inflammatory benefits. I have thyroid issues so I have developed fungus on my tongue and that is greatly reduced because of its anti fungal benefits. I did research and could not find one negative comment about using clover for oral health. Has been used for centuries by the Indians and the Chinese. In the 19th century it has been used for periodontal therapy and to treat abscesses. I agree everyone has to make the choice what is best for them.❤

My dentist literally raves about my gum "they're not good, they're phenomenal " . I thought, wow, it's just gum, calm down. But the system works
Do you floss or not? I thought you said you do floss, but you follow her system, yet she doesn’t recommend flossing. So, what is it that works? Just asking because Im not sure flossing works for me at all.
@@Babesinthewood97Dr Phillips says if she flosses, she only does it if she feels something stuck in between her teeth that brushing didn't remove. That's what I do now. She also said, if you do floss, to do it at the toothpaste stage. That is, after brushing your teeth and once you spit out the toothpaste. Then whatever was stuck will be loose enough and completely rinsed out with the mouthwashes.

Thanks, Dr. Ellie! I'm 4 or 5 weeks in to using the complete system. When I began, I had quite a bit of tartar buildup, especially on my lower incisors and a lot of coffee staining. Additionally, I have receding gums in a number of places. I've always been diligent about brushing at least twice daily but I haven't always had regular dental visits because I did not have access to insurance and I frankly have invested better in the dental health of my family over my own. Within days of using your complete system (with the original Listerine), I noticed that the tartar buildup was dissolving and the stains were lifting. I know that you don't advocate using dental floss, but, after using your system for a couple of weeks I've begun periodically flossing in the areas of the worst tartar and staining (between my lower incisors) ... those stains and that tartar are nearly completely gone now! Likewise, I'm beginning to notice my gum line improving ... an area over my right front tooth on top is nearly closed and there is no darker line visible at the top of that tooth now. I am watching the changes in my gums around my lower molars as well. This is amazing. I am now beginning to watch for improvements to some fracture lines that I have had in my enamel for many years. I'll report back! I'm in awe of how well this works. You have my deepest gratitude!
Please, what is her system? Listerine? Xylitol gum?
Please share your system detail. Would be very helpful
We're two months into using her five step system as well as her other tips, and I do feel and see a positive change. I look forward to my twice daily tooth spa time now. She is restoring some of my trust in dentists.

Xylitol most definitely works. We began just 7 days ago. I have more energy, my teeth already feel and look cleaner. I was only using a minute amount of baking soda because toothpaste just made my mouth feel awful. I’d wake up with a fuzzy mouth every morning and bad breath too. Depending of what I have eaten, my teeth barely need brushing.
My adult children tried it but are a couple days behind me. But they have already noticed differences. And my daughter has also noticed her energy levels are increasing.
I’m so glad I saw your videos. When life turns around again, I intend on getting her rest of the system.
Thank you.

Okay this is a first for me to post on a page. I am 60, First of all I have a fear of dentists because of bad experiences: one I had a deep cleaning they hit what I believe an artery that wouldn’t stop bleeding so I had to have emergency dental surgery and second pulling of a back tooth that they couldn’t deaden. But I tried taking care of my teeth myself and I do have implants but have stains on a couple of my teeth but I can tell you I have been using her method for 3 weeks and have already seen a great improvement on my teeth they are looking whiter and I can tell you that she knows what she is talking about. I have followed it step by step it really works.
the products you recommend are not readily available in Europe (or exorbitantly expensive if imported from the US). could you please offer general guidance, e.g. what ingredients we should look for, in trying to find suitable / equivalent remplacements in markets outside the US?

Be aware there no scientific backing of her claim, listerine was originally meant for other purposes and alcohol that is one of its main ingredients been linked to mouth cancer, and can be irritant for some individuals. Additionally many of these contain colouring that has been linked to other health concerns.
With that said Overall her program is
- step 1: 100% xylitol gum
- step 2: One mouth wash of chlorine dioxide
- step 3: toothpaste plus 1100ppm Fluoride based on Sodium *
- step 4: alcohol based mouthwash
- step 5: mouthwash with 225ppm Fluoride - sodium based*
* Hers recommends are sweeten with Sorbitol - research show it might be beneficial for good bacteria growth
The alternative for Closys is Ultradex if not avaliable Oxyfresh Cavity Protection is the alternative (same bacteria handling ingredient of chlorine dioxide)
Alternative to Crest toothpaste are many and depends on region, however avoid one with glycerine & SLS, only brand I seen ever without both are Woom, Meridol & Ecome plus a few bio and vegan oriented brands.
If you want one with Xylitol there is the Pepsodent Xylitol among others it has SLS but so dos Crest. Unfortunately hard finding similar without SLS… Oral B cavity is the most alike but also has SLS today.
ACT is a little more tricky but Colgate Fluorigard daily rinse is the closest I yet to find and alternative would be Active Gentle mouth rinse, Meridol gum protection sensitive all have the same 225ppm fluoride, as it is found in ACT but neither are Sorbitol sweetened as ACT and the Colgate version, all are alcohol free as ACT
100% Xylitol is easy to find and several supermarkets and drug stores sell it.

Xylitol gave me the worst tooth ache! I started swishing it for like two days and out of the blue, my tooth started aching and my jawline was swollen. It lasted a whole week before I could get the swelling down and it took about 4 days to calm the tooth ache. I was so excited to start using xylitol from all the good things I’ve heard, but I was met with pain. I now drink a little with my tea.

It’s not for everybody. I can tell you that. Just imagine taking something thinking you’re doing better for yourself when in all actuality you’re causing problems. My face literally started swelling in seconds as I was talking to someone. And then the day after my whole jawline was completely swollen and I had a toothe ache out of this world. But just keep in mind that there’s a small number of people who are being overlooked who’ve actually had horrible experiences with xylitol. Just be mindful. I’d say, if you feel even the slightest amount of twinge when you use it, STOP USING IT! Because now that I look back on it, I do remember feeling a slight twinge when I first swished but I was mistaking that for thinking that that was just the xylitol working. But nope. And what makes it so bad is that when I did my first swish, I felt a little twinge in my teeth but I figured it was because the xylitol was working. But nope. It was actually a twinge from my teeth and gums telling me to stop. But of course I continued and two days later, I was met with a horrible tooth ache and swollen jawline. I did some extensive research and found that there’s a couple of people who had terrible stories from xylitol use but they’re being over shadowed by all the people who claims that it works wonders. I started doing this system. Im not perfect but today my dentist told me my gums look super healthy. My goal now that they are nice and clean is to use this system to maintain them. Cant wait to see what my dentist says in 6 months
I don't know how long you've been doing the system yet, but Dr. Ellie has said that you continue to get improvements for the first 2 years, and then after that it is maintenance.
❤❤ GOD bless you Dr Phillips we are grateful we find you
Dr. Ellie, Is there a way to regrow a tooth that is at the point of complete decay? Thank you very much.
Almost the same position here. But no reply
Dr. Phillips there are studies can seems to indicate that intake of xylitol causes heart attack and stroke. Can you comment on this please and thank you.
I have answered this question a bunch of times on this thread.
Here is a link to more info:

Dr. Ellie, what is your take on Manuka honey? I read a study that, when it comes to plaque inhibition, it was more effective than xylitol and nearly as effective as chlorhexidine mouthwash.
Hi thanku mam about the information. I agree to the points you tel because saliva is like hydration to our mouth. If there’s no saliva in your mouth it drys it starts smelling. You talk so politely n calmly it makes us understand everything.
I am experiencing severe staining since starting the complete mouthcare system. My veneers now stand out like sore thumbs, since they don't stain like natural teeth. I have resumed the use of my mechanical toothbrush (Braun Oral-B). I sure hope that it can remove the stains.
I also experienced staining but no plaque forming. Dr Ellie recommends using xylitol crystals added to your tooth paste when you brush. I just found a product called “Shine” a tooth powder that I use before the Crest she recommends. It is working for me. I continue her system because it is working fabulously for me!
@@judyslanga7740 Oh, that's right! Dr. Ellie made a video recently about removing stains by brushing with xylitol crystals. Thanks for reminding me. This is just what I need.
@@judyslanga7740 is any type Xylitol ok?
I was only able to find the brand Xylo Sweet... a product of Xlear Inc. out of Utah.
Dr. Ellie, my gums and teeth never felt so good using your system and I thought I could never go without floss but you certainly are right! No floss is necessary. I do have one complaint that my teeth seem to appear darker and I also use Zelle’s gum and mints. Please help with my dull looking teeth. How do I get them bright once more. Thank you Dr. Ellie.
Go watch her video removing tooth stains naturally.I had the same problem which is getting better.
It could be caused by cetylpyridinium chloride in Act. I read that a small percentage of people’s teeth get stained from it
I started program a few months ago but use a xylitol or Ayurvedic toothpaste& mouthfeels great. I am also not a mouth breather and was for a long time. This changed a few months before I started program. Haven’t been to a dentist in a few years so should check it out.
Hi, which toothpaste are you using?

Good Job Dr. Phillips
Dr Ellie,
Are there no subsitutes for your complete home care system?
I'm not able to get them where I live.
Is there anything similar in Spain to those products that would have similar effects on gums & teeth?
I think it's taking calcium carbonate and magnesium orotate , in the correct ratio.
With fermented codliver oil and some organic butter. There's a book my daughter had about this .
Dr Ellie Philips You Are Just So Cool !
My teeth are really weak & worn, this gave me hope until I read shipping is not international 😢. I"m in Australia. I'll have to research if any products available here. Thanks for this video Dr Ellie.
There’s someone in Australia that sells the system.
Awesome! I love hearing words of hope !
I have been doing this system for 3 months. No plaque buildup. Hoping teeth will remineralize.
How you use it?
Thanks for sharing your knowledge 😮😮
What advice can you give for fluorosis? Thank you for any help💕
Hi Dr Ellie. Just want to ask your opinion on the latest research coming out which states that using Xylitol can cause heart issues and strokes? Am 7 months into your protocol 😊
In case you don’t get a reply, I suspect this is deliberate misinformation especially if you’re in the US. While Asia and Europe were embracing xylitol, with no bad results, US was the last to allow it.
I’ve used it a long time with no problems. Also Dr Phillips protocol for 10 months. Research it and decide for yourself.
It’s recommended for me to have a deep clean and four fill-ins done and I’m really not a fan of moving forward in particular with the deep cleaning, do you recommend using the complete mouth care system and xylitol for restoration for my teeth and gums?
thank you, Jocelyn , I will monitor my blood pressure & if it is elevated I won’t use the mouth washes .
What? You can't use the mouthwashes if you have high BP??
Hi Dr Ellie. I work outdoors in the heat of Florida, Nevada and Texas. I must sip and guzzle down water frequently. Should I just take xylitol after every time I drink? Or should I add xylitol to the water? Thank you
Great question! Curious to hear her response
@@purityandplants me too! gotta stay hydrated throughout the day
just make sure when you drink water it is soft rainwater not acidic bore water. So also no sparkling source water. Still source water instead has a much softer acidity. But keep in mind every time you drink you flush away the minerals that try to settle on the tooth surface.
@@eco_logic yes, that is why I am asking for Dr Phillip's advice about taking xylitol after every time I drink? Or should I add xylitol to my water? It is my hope she sees and responds to my question but I don't know how to tag her specifically
@@TrainerInTrainingI wouldn’t risk swallowing xylitol . I “oil pull” with it for a few minutes and spit everything out as much as I can . Some will disagree but I think there are health risks when ingesting xylitol- heart , kidneys , liver , . Absolutely use xylitol but do your best to avoid actually swallowing it .
I wish she had a practice near me! I know i need alot of dental work but most dentist shame me because of my bad teeth and I feel like they only want to make money. I need to do her system asap and save money and look for a good dentist to get on my good teeth journey! 🙌
Dr. Ellie, I have dry mouth from medication and sipped water all day and see now this was wrong to do. I started your program about two weeks ago and notice that my teeth are often sticking to the mucosa inside my lips. Do you have suggestions to fix that?
PS I’m soo grateful for your videos and you sharing your knowledge. I would get a mouthful of cavities despite my best efforts to care for my teeth. Your videos give me hope that I can finally turn things around. 💜
Are you using Zellie’s?
What are your thoughts on amalgam fillings? Are they toxic as some suggest? Should they be removed and if so, for what alternative filling type? And what about root canals? Some dentists say a root canal can never be safely done and there will always be bacteria sealed in a root canal and getting into the blood.
I have a crown that was done over 14 years ago with no root canal done, with no prombles. Never will I have a root canal done unless it's the only way to save my tooth.
My husband has some root canals that have gotten infected. This is just my opinion and experience I'm no dentist but why kill the root/tooth when one still has a part of the tooth? It's like having a dead tooth in your mouth. Doesn't the tooth have to have the root to stay healthy. A tree without it's roots is dead.
I let a dentist do a root canal and it resulted in my losing a tooth...
If teeth are strong and no issues do you recommend your system as a maintenance program?
Dr ellie have you seen the latest data about xylitol causing heart problems and clogging platelets? Please give your thoughts 😊👌
Thank you doctor for your Expertise advice 👍👏
I have am excited about adding this mouth care system to my lifestyle.
I am struggling with the recommended quantity to utilize with the Listerine & ACT.
Listerine - 1cap full or 2 caps?
ACT - 1 Fill Line amount or two?
Also, I presume that any flavor of Zellie’s Mints are fine to use?
Use the Listerine and the ACT in the morning and at night before going to bed. The Listerine for 30 seconds, just one cap but you don't have to fill it all the way up. The ACT for one minute until the fill line, just one. Any Zellies mint or gum is ok to use.
Dr Ellie, the Closest made my teeth very sensitive so I had to stop using it. I tried your method honestly for 6 months. I agree with some of your stuff that you say, but I do not think this is a one size fits all system. Everyone has different acidity in their mouth depending on their diet, their digestion, their blood types. Closest changes the ph I your mouth… that may not need to be changed?? I don’t know but when I used the closest, my teeth for the first time in my life became VERY sensitive. I am NOT a chemist… just someone who is observing the side and also have been exploring and investigating all types of foods and diets and their effects on the body.
My teeth have became sensitive on the program. I never had the sensitivity problem before.
Why do you think it's closys? I mean it is suppose to use closys first, then toothpaste, then listerine which increases acidity again and then ACT reduces it again, and after I use xylitol.all ....so are you using closys, only? Or why do you come to this conslusion?
Is it butter? Is the secret butter? Please say it’s butter
Will xylitol improve the health of my gums & what is your opinion using coconut oil gargling for 1 minute 2x’s daily for oral health?
Too bad I didn't see your content 10 months ago. Just using the listerine + sensitive basic mouthwash has already eliminated all my plaque build up in the last few months to the point I have no need to floss. I would have saved 500$(€) on sealing up cavities.
It's just that nobody ever told me this solution before, so I didn't really have a chance to save myself all this trouble.
Thank you very much. May your days be long and your hardships true.
What an awful thing to say to somebody, the way you are saying it is a curse! the expression is may your hardships be FEW,not TRUE- I hope you’re not spreading this everywhere

I was wondering if you had a Complete Care System for France ? Thank you very much!
I am sorry but I do not know which products are available.
This is the first year of so much global interest.
I think I need to start visiting various countries to see which products are available.

Need one for Malaysia as well 🥹 I'm very much keen to use your systems but the items here are not available at local stores. So, need alternatives for sure but I'm trying to use a local product which has 100% xylitol in it.
Found a treasure. Thank you Dr Ellie
@Dr Ellie Phillips, is there a change to dry mouth when starting your program? Is the bacterial change causing this? Also can you explain why flossing, especially in the beginning with lots of plaque is not recommended please? TY!
I heard her say it spreads germs , I floss then rinse , I have to to get trapped food out.
@@juliefall2892 oh yes, me too!
Can you please make a video about how you travel using your care system?
Um, use TSA approved containers and decant into them?
In the pdf you say do not rinse with water between steps, at the end can I rinse my mouth after all 5 steps, otherwise wouldn't the mouthwash be injested when consuming food? Also how many times should I brush? Should we swallow xylitol? (My main goal is to make my teeth less yellow and more white and remineralize my enamel, which products should I buy or should I buy all three??)
Hey Dr Ellie. Why is some tooth decay rock hard and slow progressing? I work in care and look after disabled people. There is this one guy I've been looking after for 15yrs. He will allow you to quickly brush his front teeth but not the back ones. As a result his back molars are decaying. He's got two lower first molars that have been slowly decaying for 15yrs now. Recently part of one broke off. I managed to get a light and a dental pick in there. When investigating the broken tooth it was half black and decayed right down to the gum, but the decay is rock solid. I always thought decay was soft? He's never been in any pain at all. His other molar has a tiny bit of tooth decay no bigger than the head of a dental pick, and it has barely gotten any bigger in 15yrs. So, how come some people's tooth decay is rock hard and it takes many years for their teeth to decay? Thank you.
I had a dark line on the side of an upper last molar and the hygienist claimed it was decay that had healed itself. More than one hygienist has told me this. This was over 20 yrs. ago. I still have the dark line and it hasn't changed. I have good dental hygiene though.
How are you care giving for him, but never recommended he see a dentist? Sounds like neglect.
@@t.augburn12 Don't judge. We have dentists come in but disabled people are often hard to control and very strong. It is quite common for them to kick off a huge fuss get violent and bite. As a result dentists can't really do much. We can't go around sedating or restraining them either as it's against the law. Also, domiciliary dental care (Where a dentist visits you as you aren't capable of visiting a dentist) is often limited due the fact they don't have and can't carry around dental drills etc. They just use hand tools.
Today I came across a study out of Cleveland Clinic (there's an article in CNN "Common low-calorie sweetener linked to heart attack and stroke" Please share your expert view on this study as well. What's going on with these studies?
This is really concerning especially since heart related issues run in my family. I’ve been on the system for 1.5 months and my mouth feels great. A little concerned from the beginning taking xylitol so I was wondering if @dr.elliephillips could we take xylitol mints and swish in the mouth as an alternative and then spit out? If so how long would be ok to swish?
Oh noo….. this is terrible. Why cannot anything just be healthy.
They pushed saccarin etc and this is old bews.
@@Babesinthewood97 If xylitol was that bad, wouldn't many of Dr. Ellie's clients be dead by now? That's not the case, so I'm thinking it's probably a study from some company that benefits if Xylitol is removed. Sanofi seems to be one of the sponsors of the study.
To mask vaks injuries maybe? 😒
Years ago I was at a chi gong teacher. There was an exercise called something like jade water. You had to run your tongue several times along the gum, that increased the saliva. Then you should swallow it in tiny bits. Maybe some kind of gum massage and beneficial for the stomach.
Hello there, thank you! I’m in the UK 🇬🇧…are the kits available for here please? 🙏
I used to go to the dentist twice a year to scrape plaque off my teeth, which I would notice forming again after about two months.
With this system, the plaque has not come back in a year, even though I have a sweet tooth for chocolate.
Great information, thanks
What are your thoughts on toothpaste with xylitol?
Most of them have glycerin as an ingredient - which is not ideal as it may interfere with mineralization.
Also, others are too abrasive - as they are using a cheaper kind of silica which is very granular.
I have not yet found one I can truly recommend.
@@dr.elliephillips Thank you for your detailed response!

Hi Dr ellie, i have bone loss on the upper right side of my teeth due to braces and i also have a cavity on the molar. I have been using your system for 3 months now but the pain that i’m experiencing hasn’t gone. It rather increases when i use listerine. Can i skip the listerine part and continue using the rest?
Try green tea , it always gets rid of tooth pain for me and it's a great mouthwash.
Listerine was linked to mouth cancer
I got on the system to help my gum recession. I had white teeth before but when I started the system my teeth seemed more fragile and it started to become brown and my gum recession became worse. Not sure what I’m doing wrong but will keep going on the system. I massage my gums with my finger too
Thank you so much Dr. Ellie !
I have been using your complete oral system for 7 weeks and the problem with my molar #36 which had a crown 7 months ago ( apparently with 6 mm pocket 2 month ago , but it seems less pocket now) is pain free now. There was a mild tooth pain initially 3 month ago but no pain at all after using your system. The teeth #36 and 37 both floating a bit ( both are crowned, #37 was done 3 & half years ago). #36 became infected after the crown due to the wrong bite ( X-rays show progressing bone loss in 2 months period) Endodontis suggests a root canal with 50% success rate due to significant bone loss , or tooth to be extracted if there is a crack found during root canal.
Do you suggest CBCT on #36 before root canal?
I’m a 66 yr old woman and would do anything to save my tooth. My question is ; should I postpone the root canal which is scheduled in 2 weeks ? Is it possible the infection inside the tooth will disappear as I continue your system twice a day? The tooth is necrotic and infected, with abscess flowing through the end of the roots, as per dentist. ( never was any bad smell neither severe pain) Your story about the Down syndrome girl saving all of her teeth is unbelievable😊. Please advise. Thank you again.
If you need a root canal - get it done ASAP with an endodontist
Please keep in touch after your appointment. You need that taken care of FOR the bone to heal

Hello Dr. Ellie, can I use ipana Fluor-0-5 anticavity Fluoride mouthwash( sweetened with xylitol and cheap in Canada) instead of ACT? ACT is very expensive in Canada.
Thank you!
Could you please explain the effect of fluoride rinse kept in the mouth for 1 minute with no rising with water on human body? I am talking about fluoride going to the blood stream, as anything we put in our mouth does. Thanks
Radically cut out fluoride!! It calcifies the pineal gland and has ZERO health benefits!

Hi dr. Ellie is it possible to regrow enamel on teeth
Here’s a summary of her recommendations:
Consume 6.5+ g of xylitol per day (mints, gums, etc.), preferably after meals.
Twice per day, once in morning before breakfast, once in evening before bed, do the following:
Pre-rinse with Closys mouth rinse for 60 sec [to reset PH to prepare for brushing]
Brush teeth and gums for 2 min with Crest Refular Cavity Protection toothpaste [basic fluoride toothpaste to strengthen enamel]
Rinse with Original Listerine for 30-60 sec [kill harmful bacteria]
Rinse with ACT Anticavity Fluoride Rinse for 60 sec [resets PH after acidic listerine, along with mild fluoride solution to leave a film on your teeth temporarily]
Spit but don’t rinse out mouth after any of the above steps. Don’t eat or drink for 30 min afterward.😊
Have a separate morning and evening toothbrush. Use Mouth Watchers Antibacterial toothbrush preferably. Rinse toothbrush in Listerine for 30 seconds after each use, wash off with water, and leave upright to dry.
Don’t floss unless food is stuck in your teeth, and then only floss that tooth. Apparently as of 2016 the American federal government removed flossing from their dietary guidelines, as the effectiveness of flossing had never been adequately researched, as required.
Thanks so much for being patient to share that entirely to us
Should Washing off (rinsing) with Plain Water be recommended after final step of ACT Rinse?
