From Citiczen Soldier I'd recommend the songs ICU, Halleluja I'm Not Dead, and Let it Burn (this song actually referenced Let it Burn when Jake sang about writing the word Let it Burn on a psych ward napkin he was referencing the fact that when he was in a psych ward after trying to end his life he wrote the lyrics for Let it Burn which would go on to become their first single when he founded Citizen Soldier) From Lo Spirit I'd recommend the songs Mama, Wild Things, and Good Enough.
The control we hear in his voice, i feel like, shows the pain hes been in. Those who suffer but dont want to have others hurt, control their actions as much as they can until they break
I’m glad I came across your video and I’m even more glad you’ve discovered Citizen Soldier. I highly recommend going down the Citizen Soldier journey. There’s not a single song of theirs I wouldn’t recommend. I think a good next one if you continue the Citizen Soldier road would be Wish I Could Cry, ICU, Would Anyone Care, or Bedroom Ceiling!
