    It's sad that it took a group of RUclipsrs to raise awareness on preventing ocean pollution.
    Not like politicians would say anything when they can just pass more restrictive legislation that infringes on human rights.

    • @bryandedon7459
      @bryandedon7459 2 года назад +2

      Well politicians here in the US can't really do much. The US accounts for less than 1% of all trash in the ocean. They can't make companies make machines to clean up the ocean and they can't make countries stop putting so much in it. Not to mention it's not their job. We elect them to keep this country safe and protect our rights among other things. They can't clean the ocean up all around the world. The justice department and certain agencies could go after companies that were purposefully dumping trash in rivers here in the US but that's about it. I agree that our politicians are shit and instead of protecting our rights they are coming for them and taking more and more every day but cleaning up the oceans all across this planet isn't really something they could or should be doing. Idk if you're American, but Americans, and really most people of most countries have this warped view of what our politicians are supposed to do and think they are supposed to take care of everything that is bad and wrong in this world. It's not. I don't elect a politician to worry about trash in the ocean and you shouldn't either. They should worry about protecting our rights and getting and keeping our economy strong and let the people of this country come up with the ways and resources for stuff like cleaning up the ocean. Do you really want the government in charge of cleaning up the ocean and using our tax dollars to do. Lord knows they'll fuck it up.

    What’s really happening is not that some people treat the river as their personal trash, but that those people had no need for trash until recently, they certain companies arrived selling product wraped in single use plastic and -and that’s the important part- lobbied against the government asking them to contribute a fee to the newly necessary trash collection.
    A lot of people are blaming the government in that case. They tried. Big American company traded in the NYSE, protecting their profit at all costs, are the reason for rivers being trashed here.

      They throw away their trash down rivers because there is simply no other way. I think this prodject is critical because it means and shows our goverments that We.want.our.oceans.clean.
      Its up to the government to step up to make an actual sustainable waste management system in the poorer countries because its easier dumping trash in a big dumpster than travveling and dumping it in the river.
      The thing that can be done to prevent that part is simply a sustainable waste management system. If the government bothers to listen it might happen.
