I just want to thank Jess for filling in, really enjoyed him. With that said, it's great to see Gary and Iain back together to review this absolute classic.

Stephen King and George A. Romero were good friends, and always wanted to work with each other on a film. This was their opportunity, and they took it. The crew was also the crew for Sleepaway Camp (1983) according to Jonathan Tiersten. Rice Krispies were used as maggots on the corpse's eyes in the first story, "Father's Day". In addition, real maggots were also utilized. Hal Holbrook and Adrienne Barbeau appeared in The Fog (1980), however they didn't share any scenes together. The music playing on Upson Pratt's jukebox at the beginning of "They're Creeping Up on You!" is the same instrumental that plays over the ending credits of The Evil Dead (1981). The only George A. Romero film where he didn't write the screenplay.
I was a wee lad on trip out on a London bus tour to see the Oxford street lights. Now, as I recall, it was absolutely pissing it down, causing massive condenstion and window fogging. I can't recall the lights, but I do recall at one point giving the window a good rubbing and seeing the markee poster for creepshow (the same one in the thumb nail above), and it scared the gubbins off me!
Great to have the dynamic duo back together for another great review. Though I for one would love to see a bit of three way action with our boy Jess in the future, who made that seat his own. Fantastic channel lads 😎
Oh yes! What a film for Iain to make his return! Awesome! 🌟 Please pass on my thanks to Jess, he's awesome and especially with such shoes to fill, can't wait to see him again! Hopefully the 3 of you sometime would be epic! Have a great Thursday Shelfers! 👊 👊 👊 👊 👊 👊
Good to see you back brother! Couldnt sleep so once again this is perfect for my saturday night, take care lads. PS Kudos to Jess he was a good fill in.
Same here , Creepshow 2 Is just as good as 1 imo , and I even watch It slightly more. They're both timeless with classic Intros. Creepshow 1 , 2 , and Night Of The Demons I watch every Halloween without fail. We need Creepshow 4!
This is probably my favorite movie of all time. I saw it when it first came out on VHS in June of 1983, and not only do I own an original clamshell Warner VHS copy of the film, I own THE copy that I first watched on that day in 1983. Snagged it at the video store during a sale in 1986. I"ve probably watched this over 300 times. Never get bored of it.
IAIN HAS RETURN!!! AWESOME!!! And he returns with reviewing Creepshow! How ironic! Because Creepshow is one of my all time favorite horror films! My favorite segment is "Something To Tide You Over!" Mainly because of Leslie Nielsen's performance! He's best known for comedy, but I never thought he could play a sly and an intimating murderer! He really surprised me! I personally enjoyed all the segments, besides the last one. Not because I'm afraid of bugs, but just how slow and boring it was. And compared to the other 4 stories, it just feels out of place. But that's just my opinion. Creepshow is a MUST WATCH if you're a horror fan! Thanks for reviewing this one guys! And welcome back again, Iain! We missed you! And tell Jess we really appreciated his presents while Iain was away! 👍
What a treat! This is still the most EC Comics-est movie to me, no offense to the actual Tales from the Crypt films. I fell in love after seeing it first in my early teens. It just nails that spooky/goofy vibe perfectly. And you know we also wanted our cake and we got it too, cause you're back Iain! We missed ya, pardner. Always looking forward to Thursday mornings cause of you guys. Keep it up, stay safe and keep on being glorious. Big love from across the pond!
I was scared by roaches a very little child, and have had an intense phobia of them all my life... so unfortunately, I had to NOPE the FUCK out of this when it comes to the final segment. Otherwise, great work as usual!
You did this justice boys, Creepshow is one of the greatest horror anthology movies ever. Steer well clear of Creepshow 3 though...a viewing experience akin to getting a boil on your ass.
YAY 👉🏻 I adored Creepshow as a kid! And I am so happy to see Iain again! The world is well again!!! Edit: I would love to see all three of you together (with Jess)! You all are wonderful at what you do!
I actually read the comic book adaptation of Creepshow before seeing the movie. I found it in the local library when I was around 8 years old I think. The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill gave me apocalyptic nightmares about the meteor shit for weeks on end.
I wasn't aware of Creepshow till I saw Creepshow 2 in 2001.The Raft is still my favorite Creepshow story from the movies. In the 90s I loved Tales From The Crypt and EC comics including the Amicus adaptations which are really under rated. Not sure how Creepshow went under my radar.
I think "From a Whisper to a Scream" is an underrated horror anthology. There is crazy taboo-level stuff in its four segments, and the wraparound story involves Vincent Price, in his last horror film role, telling a reporter that the Southern town they're in is the epicenter of evil. The director Jeff Burr directed a slew of horror movie sequels like "Pumpkinhead II," "Stepfather II," "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III," and two "Puppet Master" sequels.
Yay! So glad to see you guys back together! Would love to still have Jess on sometimes though as well. He did a great job in Iain's absence. =) The Stephen King short always depressed me as a kid, and it was my least favorite story in the movie.
NO WAY!!!! another movie I was sure I had seen (but I think I was thinking "tales from the Crypt!") - does that mean Atkins starred in this and ALSO Halloween 3 all in the same period! Now THAT is legendary! Thank you guys!!!!

C-L-A-S-S-I-C!!!! Great time & hella fun to watch. Must viewing for all horror genre fans. I love horror anthologies. Like most...my favorite is “The Crate”, but all I thought were interesting. Ed Harris bustin’ out the dance moves. Loved the lighting & framing, just like the comics that were also great. A annual Halloween view is spot on. Creepshow 2 is alright, however Creepshow 3 has issues. Love Stephen King, Tom Savini . RIP Hal Holbrook. Love the new “Creepshow”on Shudder! Long live Shudder!! Cheers!!!
I love Creepshow 1 and 2 really classic stuff both movies were shot so well and it looks like a comic book! My favorite is the Hitchiker story “Thanks For The Ride Lady!” I hope you guys get a chance to do Body Bags and Tales From The Hood! ❤️

Oh I remember going to see this in the cinema when it first came out. lol And 'The Crate', I also remember trying to make my own Puppet 'Fluffy' based on the images I saw in Savini's make up SFX book he brought out around about the that time. My fav segment was the Stephen King one. So iconic and so, so Creepshow. Great stuff!
Jess was awesome 👏 and a great substitute anytime but wasn't the same without Iain welcome back and this is one of my favorite movies as a kid and still love to watch it every once and a while great vid guys!
It's a shame King played it so silly in The Lonesome Death as the story itself is quite horrific. The idea of this thing consuming your body like a cancer and that type of body horror is always terrifiying and the implication at the end that it's spreading to a potential apocalypse! There's also something tragic about dying alone like that. But it's all undermined by the goofy tone.
Personally the last story was actually the most terrifying for me (I genuinely cried at one point 🙂) and it made me realize that when we see things like monsters and people killing each other it is scary but we don't really feel the danger because we've generally never been in those situations we don't know what it's like. But we've all been in contact with cockroaches and bugs and food gone bad and filled with some parasites or whatever so we KNOW what it's like and to see it on screen makes us remember that so it's really really terrifying...
Ian, my man!!!. Jess is cool but I've watch you guys for years and I love yall banter. And Ian has my kinda humor. He came back on right film too. Awesome

The horror anthology is really the best kind of movie in my opinion. A couple years ago, I got the reprint of the comic for my personal library. When I was a kid back in the early 1980s, my mother refused to buy it for me. Years later, I made up for lost time.
