I forgot to mention that I really wonder how many people realize what capacity this guy has. He plays bass and drums in vids other than this one, and integrates the mix with video. He has a sense of humor, which means he must be somewhat humble. But most importantly, as I'm someone who played music for three decades professionally and was a recording engineer and producer for almost a decade, I really appreciate what he does. He's played very different guitars. Unusual to see a song like this that would normally be played by many players on something like an Ibanez, and here he's doing it on a Tele. He's enjoying that sponginess for this kind of amp gain structure, and yet it doesn't hamper him. He's got it covered.

Yeah, others can play Canon rock, too, and pretty good, but to me, no one does it better than Matt. He just has more feeling that he puts into it and plus he's fun to watch perform. I also like the tones he gets from the edge of the pick striking the strings at just the right angle, he gets the awesome harmonics that few others are able to get quite as good. This version had some new stuff that was unbelievable but still my favorite version is one of his earliest versions ... the "MY CANON" one where he played the guitar with a vibrato (wammy) bar. The Telecaster version from about 8 or 9 years ago is also incredibly awesome but he wasn't able to do all of the the stuff that he did with the wammy bar guitar version. The wammy bar version has over 20 million views too so it's got a big following and I suspect that a lot of people have watched it quite a few times as I have.
Matt doesn't have to do this song again on youtube. i'm sure he's had to do it by request hundreds of times while on the road. He put some new twists in this one that made it better.
