Original Movie: Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me
The chair malfunction was real, and Mike Myers improved the whole thing.
That makes me respect his comedic genius that much more
@@VKuniayou hear someone saying "get him a bucket", I think that might have actually been a crew member or PA. 😂😂😂
"The power of Christ compells you!"
He certainly did improve it
@@nealcomstock1958i laughed so hard at this. 🤣
RIP to Verne Troyer. Mini me is absolutely Iconic in this movie
Yeah hearing about Verne Troyer suicide was heartbreaking
RIP to jerry springer too
Rip to Verne Troyer I didn’t know he passed away
@@Nicholasmcmath-cr1xl yeah back in 2018 that was a very sad day
@@jamesrein648 yeah it was a sad day for his fans and friends and family
Mike Myers really made a lucrative career doing Scottish accents.
Loved him in, So I Married An Axe Murderer.
If it's not Scottish, it's Crap!
but that's british
Scottish is a British.
@@SergioArellano-yd7iktechnically no. Scotland is part of UK but separate from Britain has it's own flag etc and them blue lines in the union jack represent it.
The Jerry Springer scene was probably the funniest scene in the entire trilogy, I inevitably burst out laughing the moment Dr. Evil gets up and charges at the Klansman for insulting Scott (which is kind of sweet in a way), it's just pure chaos and I love it, especially once Jerry himself gets in on the action ("He's biting me! The little [bleep]er's biting me!")
@christianwise637 That was Jerry's idea, he thought it would be funny since that had never happened on the show.
@@justindenney-hall5875 I think something like that did happen; he had Klansmen on the show in the mid or late 90s and one of them said, "I got your momma in my trunk," and Jerry went after him.
@@mrvincentjackson I think they're referring to people biting other people.
2:47 - Liz Hurley wanted to reprise her role as the main female lead but could not due to scheduling conflicts with other film commitments. So Mike Myers asked her to do a cameo and rewrote the story to maintain continuity. Myers also realized afterwards this made more sense as the Austin Powers franchise parodies 007 which has a different female lead every film.
That honestly is interesting. I wonder what the story would be like if Vanessa stayed in the story? Would it have still been Austin losing his mojo? That actually could have been interesting, Austin dealing with not being able to shag his wife
your best reviews contain: 1) snorts 2) tears from laughter. great job. you always brighten my day at work with your videos. thank you!
LMAO I COULDNT HELP MYSELF😆but you're so sweet😊thank you
Wait, where do you work that you can watch RUclips?!? 😂
@@mikeclemens795 i don't get to watch straight through. i watch pieces between outgoing calls.
Movies that have silly comedy: Airplane!, Top Secret, Naked Gun. Almost perfect comedies.
and spy hard!
police academy
Hot shots part one and deux
Every time Vicky laughs so hard until she snorts, it always makes my day
5:30
Airplane and Top Secret… two amazing comedy films
Also recommended: Hot Shots and The Naked Gun.
Austin Powers arising perfectly dry from the swimming pool is achieved by slowly lowering him into the swimming pool, then running the film in reverse.
The woman that plays Ivana Humpalot was on the tv show 3rd rock from the sun which would be a great series to react to 🤣
“Ladies and gentlemen; Mr. Burt Bacharach and Mr. Elvis Costello”.
Highly recommend: "So I Married An Axe Murderer"
Underrated movie
there's a reason KFC is so highly addictive...
"Heed! Paper, now!"
@@GaryPewteaux63 "That was off-sides, wasn't it? He'll cry himself to sleep tanight on 'is huge pillah."
That was a great movie, it's where I learned that Scotland had it's own martial arts.
The matching swimsuits Austin and Felicity are wearing are the same as the one Ursula Andress wore in the first James Bond movie "Dr. No".
There's a scene in the Bond film "The Spy Who Loved Me" where the villain captures the female spy Bond is working with and changes her outfit to something sexier.
You may be thinking of The Man With The Golden Gun, where Scaramanga puts Goodnight in a bikini after capturing her. He CLAIMS it's because you can't conceal weapons in one, but we all really know why he did it...
@@Ambaryerno I was referring to the scene in TSWLM where Stromberg takes Anya back to Atlantis and the next time we see her she's strapped to a chair and wearing a more revealing outfit.
@@richardb6260 Golden Gun still did it first.
That "I feel seen" quip at 10:00 absolutely killed me
Mike Myers has said that "Fat Bastard" is the foulest character he's ever played🤣
Foul but funny and iconic. A real life version of Shrek
@@jasonbrownie12 Sounds like you need to rewatch "Shrek"😬
Well, who knew, England has a place that looks like Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles!
There are so many cultural references that just whiz by in these movies. The Alan Parsons Project and Wang Chung are both bands. The other other white meat is a parody of a late 1980s ad slogan of the National Pork Board for marketing pork products. The spinning time portal is from the 1960s show The Time Tunnel. The references are countless!
That's one of the reasons I didn't care as much for the second and third films: They shifted away from focusing on the Bond/Avengers/General 60s Spy Homage and became considerably more referential
The baby back ribs jingle is from an old Chili's commercial.
His outfit with the big buttons is like one Davy Jones of the Monkees wore too.
This film came out the same summer as Star Wars The Phantom Menace. The played a lot with that hype in this film. In fact the tag line of the movie was “If you see only one movie this year see Star Wars, but if you see two see Austin Powers”. Ironically this movie actually would go on to beat The Phantom Menace later at the box office.
just in case no one has mentioned it yet, he comes out of the water dry because they filmed him being lowered into the water and then reversed the playback for the print. You are seeing that particular scene played backwards from how it actually happened. Movie magic.
GET IN MAH BELLEH!
Haven't seen this for years... only just realised Stifler's mum is at the end
Austin Powers is one of those rare series that get better as they go. Goldmember is my fave thanks for the video
I’ve followed your channel for years I love the reactions especially to films where I know what’s coming and wanna see your reactions. Also The snorts and giggles are adorable, that’s why we love you. Embrace it
@joshkresnik6402 I agree.
Fun fact: The British saying "Gor Blimey" is actually "God blind me," used to express shock or disbelief. In earlier times, what we know today as the British accent didn't really exist yet, so it was pronounced more clearly. The accent was invented by the noble class to separate themselves from common folk, but it eventually fell into fashion with pretty much everyone in the UK and became firmly engrained in their culture.
Do not let those people dictate your right to free speech. Especially when it's only about a character's name.
Can't wait for Goldmember!!
i think it's more of a youtube monetization issue, not a free speech issue. Advertisers are prudes.
Since you're asking for requests, check out A fish called Wanda. A bit of an older flick now, but an absolute star studded cast and hilarious
"Oh no I've gone cross-eyed!"
I still use that whenever something becomes unnecessarily complicated.

Recommendations as per your request:
1) Pink panther 2006 has a sequel 2009 Starring Steve Martin
2) Spy Hard 1996 Starring Leslie Nielsen
3) Johnny English 2003 has a sequel Reborn 2011
honorable mention:
Spy 2015 Starring Melissa McCarthy
90s comedy were another level!
I could be wrong, but the chess match scene is most likely from the 1968 film "The Thomas Crown Affair"
3:43 they filmed it in reverse
26:31 "He's like a _dog,_ or something."
And dogs _bite._
FYI: The Star Wars references like the opening crawl and Dr. Evil making the "I am your father" reference to Austin and calling his laser on the moon a "Death Star" was because "Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace" came out the same year. In fact, you should look up the trailer to The Spy Who Shagged Me as it celebrates the new Star Wars movie that was coming out that year too.
For someone old like me who lived through all that, I was a little kid during the original trilogy. So when Episode I came out, it had been 16 years since the last Star Wars film and people like me were really excited. Mike Myers used that opportunity to put Star Wars jokes in the film since it was coming out around the same time.
The snort at 5:29 was the best part of this video. I think you've snorted in other viewings too, but this one was just the right amount porkiness!
Austin Powers 2 is my favorite because I grew up watching it and it was the first Austin Powers movie I ever saw when I was a kid.
Austin Powers was supposed to have just as much back hair, but Mike's wife and the directors wife Susanna Hoffs, said that was overdoing it.
This has my fave Dr Evil moments which is the only reason I watch these films.
15:50 Elvis Costello - SEEK HIS MUSIC!
10:32 I replayed that dance scene SO god damn often.... 😅🤭🙈
Omg I never noticed Jennifer Coolidge is in that end montage before! I don’t think I really knew who she was the last time I saw this, I was like 12 lmao
1:40 V: "Why don't they just blow him up in space at that point?"
My Response, based on a scene from an earlier movie in this series: "I'm going to place him in an easily escapable situation involving an overly elaborate and exotic death."
Awesome Austin Powers sequel thanks for watching V.🇺🇲📺🇺🇲
The opening of this movie is nuts!
parody movies:
Lethal Weapon franchise = National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1 (1993)
Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves (1991) = Robin Hood - Men in Tights (1993)
Scream (1996) & I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) = Scary Movie (2000)
more parody movies:
Top Gun = Hot Shots! (1991)
Rambo + a lot of other small references = Hot Shots! Part Deux (1993)
Star Wars (A New Hope) = Spaceballs (1987)
Old spy movies (not James Bond) + Elvis Priesly = Top Secret (1984)
Hot Shots! Part Deux needs to be seen after Hot Shots!
17:17 you're probably getting Scooby-Doo vibes since Scooby-Doo was made in the 60's
23:25 - Mini Me is a baby. Why do you think he's so smol?
An underrated comedy you should give a chance is "Shakes The Clown". It's about an alcoholic clown who is framed for a murder. Robin Williams, Adam Sandler, and Kathy Griffin make cameo appearances in the movie.
Heather Graham in this movie... so much YES! 😏😂
The decade or so of comedies from the late 90's to early 2000's were just something else. Unfortunately I believe you're right in that a lot of them wouldn't be seen the same way if they were to release today. But man were they some of the best.
one of the funniest movies ever made, the jerry scene had me dying.
1:09 - it's a spoof on the Bond movie The Spy Who Loved Me
Robin Spitz/Swallows is played by Aussie Gia Carides. She has also played Cousin Nikki in My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
Meyers had previously worked with her then husband Anthony LaPaglia in “So I Married an Axe Murderer”
He's also an Aussie but you'd not know if you saw him in "Betsy's Wedding"
The Jerry springer show scene is the best thing ever 😂😂😂
I forgot how fun these movies were. I wonder how nostalgic they were for 60s kids. Seeing the time difference between the 60s and the original is basically the same as the 90s to now, I’d love to see a reimagining of the series of a 90s spy waking up in the 2020s.
Movies Similar to Austin Powers: (1) Naked Gun (part one, part two and part 2.5) is probably the closest (2) So I Married an Axe Murder (3) Hot Shots (4) Step Brothers and (5) The Other Guys
30:23 Woody was referring to himself. Also, at 30:09 you missed Jennifer Coolidge
Austin Powers is kind of like James Bond meets Maxwell Smart from Get Smart.
I laughed so much watching you watch this - I think this was an even more fun reaction then the one you did for the first movie. 😆 I hope that you at least went back and watched the scene that you missed at the end, even though you didn't show it here. And I hope you do watch all the way to the end of Goldmember when you get to it, so you don't miss that one. 😋
I don't know if you caught it or not since you didn't mention it, so in case you didn't catch it - Fat Bastard was also played by Mike Myers, so he had three roles in this movie. I find it amazing that he is able to pull off so many roles within the same movie, and really give them each their own sound and attitudes, etc.
Really looking forward to your reaction to the final movie! 👍
If you wanna watch more interaction between Mike Myers and “mini-me”, The Love Guru is a good movie. Same kind of humor as the AP series.
A lot of people did not like that movie I don't know why I thought it was Mike Myers doing what he does best
I agree with people not liking that movie. But its typical Mike Myers. Love Guru, Austin Powers, Wayne’s World. All his style of movie.
My 12 year old self got a huge crush on Heather Graham after seeing this movie
3:43 It's a reverse shot.
I have two movie recommendations, Gnomeo and Juliet and Alpha and Omega. They’re really good. Trust me.😉❤
The sexy chess scene is a parody of the thriller, The Thomas Crown Affair (1968), where it really is hot. Don't remember if the scene is also in the 1999 remake.
Vkunia, you should do the third Austin powers too
My favorite part of this movie is how much Rob Lowe resembles a young Robert Wagner
I bought all three Austin Powers movies in one of those cheap 4 movie packs. But I bought it for the fourth movie. Spies Like Us.
I always bought the last 3 Police Academy movies in a 4 movie cheap set to get National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon movie...
You should definitely react to Austin Powers 3
17:23 WELL SURPRISE SURPRISE 🤣🤣🤣
2:15 Now THERE'S a movie for modern audiences.
The joy Vikunia got out of watching this makes it worth watching on its own.😂😂😂
I don't see it in the top comments, so.. The title is a play on the old James Bond movie title "The Spy Who Loved Me"
*#RIP** Jerry Springer*
*#RIP** Vernon Troyer* AKA *Mini-Me*
You should watch “The Poseidon Adventure” (1972) or “Poseidon” (2006); both two adaptations of he same story. “The Poseidon Adventure” since considered to be the greatest disaster movie ever made and I agree that it is definitely one of the best.
Gotta check out Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. Very absurd comedy in the same vein as this. It's a take on the life of a rock star like Johnny Cash or Elvis.
The model with ivana is Rebecca Roman the original mystique
19:26 Why did they have the coffee and the stool sample even on the same table?
"Why won't you die?" By far the funniest joke in this movie to me.
He put it in quotes because "L.A.S.E.R." is actually an acronym: Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.
A good funny movie that no one seems to have reacted to is "The Tuxedo" with Jackie Chan and Jennifer Love Hewitt. VERY silly imo and a bit wholesome too. I would highly recommend it. Thank you for the fun reactions as usual. I LOVE goofy comedies like this, Rush Hour, and American Pie :)
Shreck and Lumber man from red ridding hood cartoon
I do love the fact that they tried to give a half explanation for why Austin is single here, whereas it's practically never explained why James Bond is completely single by the beginning of the next movie. At least in the classic timeline. Daniel Craig, I'm told they explain it fairly often.
Also love how this movie makes Star Wars digs and yet it has a future Star _Trek_ connection -- Rebecca Romijn, aka the 'other' model in the photoshoot, plays Commander Una Chin-Riley in Strange New Worlds. (And her husband Jerry O'Connell voices Commander Ransom on Lower Decks.) But this was one of my favorite movies in my college days to be honest; everything from the random appearance of a 1999-aged Elvis Costello and Burt Bacharach in 1969 to the Alan Parsons Project... seriously.
The other model is Rebecca Romijn, actual supermodel and known in the acting world as Mystique, Lois Lane and Commander Una Chin-Riley. Also as "That girl in NKOTB's Please Don't Go Girl video"
And younguns? Check out the music video for Madonna's "Beautiful Stranger", which was part of this film's soundtrack and has a certain guest star in it.
This is why you need to watch Dr No before the Austin powers movies
This entire series is hilarious. They don't make such comedies anymore.
It is a little older, but you might like Fatal Instinct (Basic Instinct merged with Fatal Attraction, and a little Cape Fear). Top Secret is another one. 😁 Both are very funny and much like these movies and Airplane! and Naked Gun. I like all three Austin Powers movies, and while there is certainly some reused jokes in them all, they did keep it fresh as well, so you should definitely watch the third one as well.
3:54 RIP Jerry Springer
Hey viki
When are you going to upload better call Saul's season 2 ep 2?
whenever it's ready and or whenever she feels like it.
or perhaps she uploads that show on a certain day of the week.
While not precisely similar, FAWLTY TOWERS is a short, 16 episode ,30 minute TV series, with John Kleese, that is the best comedy ever
There is a comedy with a similar concept (James Bond parody) - "OSS 117 - Cairo: Nest of Spies" (2006). Humour type is not exactly the same, but it is also very entertaining to watch, excellent movie. It has two sequels with the same actor (Jean Dujardin), but I haven't watched them yet.
Mike Myers is also great in "so i married an axe murderer" not the same style humor as this but funny in it's own right.
@nostradumbass Which was followed by a couple of failed straight to video sequels that fell into obscurity "So I married a domestic terrorist" and a gender flipped one called "So I married a serial rapist".
ilysm for watching these lmao
I suggest Airplane. Its soooo funny.
More from Mike Myers:
Wayne's World (1 & 2)
So I Married an Axe Murderer (a bit more serious, but still fun, imo)
Rest In Peace Jerry Springer 😢 died last year at 79.
I thought he died 5 years ago. Maybe I was thinking about his show being canceled. Which sucked because I really liked his show.
Hearing an American say “Shagged” is just hilarious 😂
24:12 didn't seem to recognize Willie..
22:45 » aw, i like the *❝ laser ❞* thing (🤦♂😂) // well, i confess i'm kinda biased cuz i love to just walk around imitating him randomly (😂🤣😂🤣😂)
You need MORE movies with this type of humor? Vee, I believe it may be time for all of us to introduce you to Mr. Mel Brooks!
-The Producers
-Young Frankenstein
-Blazing Saddles
-Robin Hood: Men in Tights
-History of the World Part I
-Spaceballs
We should also introduce you to Zucker, Abrahams, and Zucker:
-Airplane!
-The Naked Gun series
-Hot Shots! and Hot Shots! Part Deux
-Jane Austen's Mafia!
Mike Myers is such a comedic genius, and I love the Austin Powers movies. But his earlier work in Wayne's World and So I Married an Axe Murderer is my favorite. Definitely check those out.
