I've honestly stayed in so many lovely and clean hostels in JPN, and find I've just gotta try my best to pick & choose a good one by reading lots of reviews! Hope you get the chance to stay here while visiting Hakone! ♨️ Happy new year!
Sometimes I'm not in the right mood to stay in a 'party' hostel - like, the ones that are a perpetual frat party, so I'll get a hotel or AirBnB, but other than that hostels are a great time! (and I'm really old! lol) Give them a shot next time! You can save a lot of cash by staying at them, and that leaves money for a longer trip. :)

Woah, this gave me some hardcore deja vu... we stayed in Hakone Tent for our honeymoon a few years back... I think literally in the same room Sarah was filming in! Can +1 the recommendation... we had a fantastic time!

Sure, watching luxury places on RUclips is fun, but what you are showing here is much closer to what I would normally opt in for - authentic, adventurous, cosy and at a reasonable price. This video was genuinely amazing to see! It added a bit of insight into Hostels that I didn’t quite know! Also, that Kotatsu in the Living Space was sick.
Great way to open up the new year by sharing just another accommodation option for those of us pining to get to Japan ASAP! As always love and appreciate the research, time, work and effort the lovely host puts in to make ALL the views of Japan no matter where they may be all the better! I absolutely loved my stay in Hakone; I was somewhat trying to avoid hostels throughout my trip, but watching this video makes me regret that a bit, this place looked really nice! btw in Hakone I stayed at the Ryuguden Ryokan, which has an amaaaazing outdoor onsen with a view of Lake Ashinoko and Mt Fuji!! (However, aside from the amazing onsen and incredible views the room itself felt lacking for the price)
Another great video! The 🐬 censorship was too funny. Only thing is that the sound of your voice was a little too low to hear at times and I had to rewind to listen. Always super hyped to see another Seerasan video

I can't say I've every really considered hostels in Japan. They seem to be a different beast from my experience with a bit more privacy, so much more tempting from what you've shown. How English-only friendly do they tend to be? I can barely say a word in Japanese and I certainly can't read any!

My parents and I used to go to Hakone once a year when I was a kid. It’s a very relaxing place.

Did that onsen water have a sulfur smell? The onsen I stayed at in Hakone did not and wonder if that's normal in the area.
It didn’t actually! Might depend on the particular onsen tho.. so not sure!
