If you've lived this long (akin to me, at 69 yrs), you can let go of suicidal thoughts. We're in the time of our lives when we can relax and meditate, and do some of things we've been putting off. Wow. I first turned on to Buffy as a little kid when I performed my first song in front of my 4th grade classmates. It was 'Needles and Pins' which I learned from a Searcher's 45. I'm so glad to see her, radiant, 58 years later. What a great songwriter and person. I feel like I know her personally.

If Buffy had had an agent like Colonel Parker (Elvis' agent) she would have been as big a star as Diana Ross in her time.

Bluffy may be a great song writer, but she shouldn’t sing. That horrible overdone vibrato is so hard to listen to, and obviously she thought we would think it as some indigenous style of singing.

We happily accepted Buffy Sainte-Marie's Native identity before we learned that it is an assumed identity. Maybe she has a psychological disorder. Maybe her brother really did molest her, so she chose a new identity to escape a painful family connection, at least partially, through pretense. Maybe the Cree family who adopted her could adopt her retroactively to give her a pass. I wish that she would apologize and explain herself. Even if she were never to apologize, generous people who practise forgiveness could view her as a superb Italian Native Canadian impersonator, songwriter, guitarist, singer.
