pov: ur eating and come along this vid
OMGG HOWW
Noodles!
Just finished eating corn hominy
Frrrrr
Well I am not eating but my mom is making me mac and cheese
So uncomfortable, I can't even imagine the discomfort they could have felt.
or some1 else saw
I had a minor copy of this and just that was painful you could slightly feel your foot folding on itself
@@exp3ctafailur378 I'm so sorry
I got a minor case at Disney and summer camp

Today we are going to be talking about trench foot 🦶
Its about our feet touching the water of the trenches
What if you never took your frey out of water would it eventually adapt or get worse hmm and I mean clean water
These are useless.
*pfft*
We used to have regular foot inspections in the army. Army infantry lives on their feet!
I wasn't infantry, but as soon as I saw the camo I could hear my Drill Sergeants screaming "Change your socks!!"
@@jocec820 what if theres no time nor interest... im from finland in finnish defence forces, i spent 20 hours marching in wet socks in march and forests
@NebulaOfNorth Well then you just have to change them the 1st chance you get., glad you didn't get trench foot
Lt. Dan was right!
*“Two standing orders in this platoon. One, take good care of your feet. Two, try not to do anything stupid, like gettin' yourself killed.”*
“Take good care of your feet”
Easier said than done, he later found
No it's okay, i was enjoying my grilled cheese but it's fine
In fourth grade, we were studying the Oregon Trail, and the school showed videos of trench foot. Never been the same since
Man, I started to learn in when I was in 7th grade 💀
Lucky
Some guy made a musical " trail to Oregon" and yes one dies of dysentery. Separate endings for each character
@@MAs_life learning it in seventh really aint any better just delayed trauma lol. personally, i just think of it as a layer of white sand on the foot... makes it less gross.
We learned about this in social studies when learning about WW1
Same in History
SAme and that was just a few days ago
The feeling covering your foot in talc before putting docks on is heavenly
And that's why you have two sets of combat boots and you remove them at night and change your socks any time you you go rest.
but what about cases where there is no another pair of combat shoes , or you are marching in a swamp for couple days
i've actually had trench foot before when i had it my foot like split open kinda and started bleeding. also it's called trench foot because during wars soldiers would sleep in the trenches with their boots on while wet from sweat water etc. and would cause this and soldiers started calling it trench foot.
Fellow service members: this is why doc is always telling you to change your socks.
I got light trenchfoot once during a three week long field ex at Fort Stewart. Our GP tent flooded constantly, the TOC flooded, when I had patrols it was flooded a lot. It was the worst. Boots were rubbing poorly and I didn’t have dry socks.

ok
I got this just working outside at walmart in the rain
I've seen hoof rot on a man , thanks. Good PSA though Doc.
How do you get trench foot? 🤔
@@jessicamartinez7205 I know I'm not the good Doctor but trench foot is basically when your foot is immersed in cold water or mud for too long. The prolonged exposure will cause the surface layer of the foot to die. (The tissue) Its common on the farm or in the trenches. Soldiers used to get it a lot, hence the name.
“Your injuries are not service related”
Me watching this : 💀
My Brain : P O P I T
I had a minor copy of this and just that was painful you could slightly feel your foot folding on itself
Spent a month in the jungles of Panama and this was one of our biggest fears, after mosquitoes.
From your average infantryman….change your socks….like…hourly.
Your hair is so pretty
Could smell that all the way down the halls
I always made my soldiers change their socks. They had to lay them out so I could see they took the off.
I love your hair like this!
Well that's what we needed to know because no one knew how much water it takes for that to happen. Thanks!
It's an Indian army who are protecting our country in Himalayas.
I Salute them for their bravery and sacrifices.
Yeah this happened to soldiers a lot in WW1 where they were forced to stay in cold wet trenches for years on end
CHANGE YOUR SOCKS AND SHOES OFTEN WHEN YOU TRAIN AND PLAY SPORTS! I've seen light trench foot in the gym shower, not enough to make the sole separate like this but bad enough that we had to carry the guy home and he missed a few games and classes. By all means go hard in the gym, but you have to take care of yourself if you want it to mean anything!
that’s what my feet looked like in my duke of edinburgh trip 💀
My Grandfather fought with the Australian Army in France during WW1. He and many many others were evacuated back to England with Trench Feet. Men, at times, were up to their waists in mud. It would have been hell on earth for all those blighters.
Love the outfit❤️
i remember my history teacher telling us people’s feet were just falling off the bone it got so bad
Me when I walk out the bath 💀
Trench foot during ww1 would honestly have been worse than this, considering it appears they’re still able to sort of move it and it hasn’t swollen TOO much
This is what the VA calls a "Non-service related injury"
Army Infantry Vietnam
A common problem
This was very common amongst soldiers in WW1 because of the mud and water that settled at the bottom of the trenches
not me thinking it was concrete 😭😭😭
And I hear it’s extremely painful once it sets in
Every 68W ever: "Have you tried changing your socks?"
Had a similar experience to this a few years ago when I was homeless. Walked through a patch of tall, wet grass which got my shoes and socks wet, combined with walking long distances, and my feet looked like that guy's. My case wasn't that bad, but it still hurt like a mother. Took a few days in a motel room and not walking around for it to heal.
My boy switching teams 😭
I hear some Sargent screaming Change your socks !!!
Hell I get trench foot working cap 2 in Walmart smh
everyday after a 12 hour shift in a coldroom
Change socks frequently, don't wear wet socks, aerate the feet frequently and suspend your feel in smoke from a fire.
I thought u said u have never seen french food now u have and I saw like 😶
*Flashbacks to Greenside days*
"Take care of your feet." - Lt. Dan. Trenchfoot was an issue in humid, hot jungles of Vietnam.
Oh that is why lieutenant Dan said to change your socks
How does one even recovery from that.
They gotta evaporate
@@meeps_alotl7880 I think you mean amputate.
@@meeps_alotl7880 💀
You need time to recover. I had it and it took me nearly a month to get better. The stench was horrible.
Had a minor case of this
Shit hurt but heat and time worked
How do you cure it?
Just let it air out, keep your feet dry, and there's some ointment you can get as well
Me after staying in the bath a bit too long
Doc..ur telling a soldier who takes orders 2 be careful. 😅
Thank you very much for this information doctor. I have heard many military stories of it, but I never saw a video of what it actually looks like. Again, thank you doctor Dana.
That’s my skin after 10 mins in the shower
Explains that scene in Forrest Gump
that looks like the chalk my teacher used in 4th grade
Pov. You can this every day bc you walk through the wet field and your shoes don't dry
Had that through the first layers of my foot after spending an entire day hiking through a creek
Yikes! Were you able to get rid of it, and if so, how?
Field Medic: "Relax, bro.. your feet is just kinda ashy."
Thru hikers commonly get this too. Plus really bad blisters due to the hard wear on the feet
My history teacher showed my class this when we were talking about ww1 and trench warfare
I had something similar except it turned green and the way the skin folded over made me think I had a big ass cut
When that dries out…
Me who was chewing on white tic tacs:🤢💀
When bro tried to be a mermaid
I got it at Cedar Point in 8th grade. It stormed so my friend and I played in the water 😂😂😂
This happened to me from about 6 hours panning in a river glad it went back to normal
The worst thing is once it gets bad enough it never recovers and your feet basically start rotting away
FootDocDana can you do some study tips and guide for future doctors🙃
That's a one man tent, he was in some kind of field exercise training.
I got temporary trench foot when i was driving for Amazon. We had to work during heavy rainfall that lasted 13 hours straight. I was walking through foot high puddles every 5 minutes. I came home so drenched that the teal colored dye on my suede shoes seeped through my socks and onto my skin. It was like trying to wash permanent marker off. That day was the longest i ever took on a route and i had to do two rescues afterwards. New York weather sucks regardless of the season.
Ok. My breakfast just got cut short.
This happens to me when I get my socks wet when I come home and take them off it hurts to walk, it would really hurt for the soldiers though and I can’t even stand up when that happens!
Did not expect it to look like you plastered your foot
BRO DANA IN A TURTLE NECK!!?
WHAT IS LIFE
My dad has water blisters on his ankles, from bad oedema not so good at the minute...
Thete was some military style poem, that's also good advice for people on their feet. I heard this a while ago so i may not have it exact, or I'd from a movie.
Every time you make a stop
Dry your feet
And change your socks
My dad developed this in Veitnam. His feet were never the same... constantly having to take medicine and rub ointment on them throughout my childhood.
I was just learning about this in history haha
Me after sleeping in the bath for 8 hours:
Wasn't that a "What If..." vid?
Well troops they tell us to chance our socks for a reason… this is that reason lol
If only the politicians knew what they did to their soldiers
Been there done that at at Ft Benning during my final ftx and road march. My feet looked the same and they dipped them in iodine then removed all the dead skin off the bottom. I was in crutches for 2 weeks.
That's not powder
This is why you need like 6 pairs of socks in war…where there’s water involved…poor dude that must be painful as heck to walk around on that
Yup had it. Two days standing and walking in water in the army.
Red looks good on you
I usually get that every day from swimming competitively but NOT as bad as that, poor guy.
I feel like I had a trench foot as a kid walking in the woods with my friends. I hope be ok as an adult now
I was eating.... And now im not
I’ve gotten trench foot after not changing my socks after going in a water ride at a theme park…
I had something similar. Didn't feel good. Couldn't even walk for a good hour or 2.
Some times the foot would rot magets would get in it your foot will get infected and the foot will rot off mostly proscribed with the ww2 soldiers because trenches in ww2 trenches were rarely used
Sorry I meant ww1
A kid in my class told me about this. Literally the only reason I what this was.
Omg i had to work 2 days in the rain and thats what my feet looked like after
I had something that looked similar to that when I had to wear wet socks all day. Just not as severe thankfully
looks like the walking dead game artstyle
I had this once. Very painful
