This was a long anticipated trip thanks to some previous work by @karaandnate. Thank you Kara and Nate. And our final decision about whether it was worth it, YES!!! This was so amazing. We met some great people, saw parts of the country we wouldn’t have been able to see, and slept like babies on this gently rocking train. Even when we stopped at the different stations in the middle of the night, as soon as we started back up again, we were right back to sleep. Would we do it again? Definitely!!!

We didn't find one. After a little bit of looking around, it felt like we were starting to bother people so we returned to our car. We believe it's why they have the carts travel throughout the train so people don't have to leave their car.
there's no restaurants on the trains, very old system! they come around with carts, but I'd bring my own food if you're a hungry hungry person
I was contemplating if I would take plane or train to DaNang from HCM. You guys convinced me to take the train. 😅 Thanks for putting this vid together!

Hi! Me and my friends will also travel from Da Nang to HCMC in june.. We look up to 12go and see that the ticket price for the same train as you guys get is now around 1128000 VND/person..

Your first error, don't wait until you are there to buy a ticket. Go to somewhere like 12GO and buy your ticket well in advance. Some times of the year you won't get a ticket on anything other than a hard seat. Don't be a tightwad and get a bed in the 4 berth, not the 6 berth.
Was this first or second class? I'm not sure if you said in the video.
Second class. It was a shared sleeper.

How long did it take you to get to your destination? We booked from da nang to ho chi minh city and we have to catch a flight to Singapore several hours right after. I just wanted to see if we could make it to our flight. Thanks 😊
Ooh. That might be close. The trains don't always arrive on time.
How long was the trip from ho chi Minh to da nang? We plan to go there too.
Overnight train, If we remember correctly, about 12 hours, but there was a delay so times may vary. We suggest planning for a longer than expected trip, but it's so worth it. Everyone was so friendly and they sold some really good food on the train, some we had, some we didn't.
do you work while you travel? when are you going to Thailand?
Oh. Thailand just made it easier for tourists to visit. Maybe we have to go there next. Thanks for the suggestion!!! What do you think we should do there?

Great question. We actually went to the train station the day before our departure date. Made it a lot easier and affordable.
$35 each is too much
