Vietnam is so wonderful! We went in 2016 and we went all over the country! We loved Saigon, Hanoi, Ha Long Bay and Hoi An was my absolute favorite!! As a Vietnamese American, it’s nice to see my parents hometown portrayed through a different perspective. My father arrived back to Seattle from Saigon just a week and a half ago. He said a lot of things changed and some things are still the same. Last time I went back to Vietnam was 2012, definitely getting flashbacks of traffic but saw some new things as well. Overall I love vids like these, makes me want to visit my roots once again.
Having travelled all round South East Asia I can 1000% say Vietnam is truly what SE Asia is all about , its honestly a place like no other and that buzz you get in places like Saigon or Hanoi…. Wow! I know its not for everyone but we absolutely loved it to bits and so many happy memories here. It was a tough choice for us between here and Bali where to move to, but we feel right now we want the slower place of life having come from a city!! Would defo recommend Hanoi, Hoi an , Hue, ninh binh and sapa! Da lat was really lovely too 🥰 enjoy!!
If you want a slower pace, but still live in Vietnam, try Da Nang as many digital nomads love it there. Modern city next to the beach. Or try Da Lat, which many people love with the cooler weather and interesting vibe.
You two seriously need to check out Hanoi, Hoi An and Da Nang. There are so many other cool cities and villages to check out. Vietnam is my favorite country in that area.

Thank you for this really pleasant and positive video. The link came up randomly and I happened to click it and saw that you spent your first days in Vietnam at the Oscar Hotel the same as I did but that was back in February 1988. I am from NYC and my wife from Saigon but she went to New York at the end of the war where we met in 1976 and married in June 1977. We moved to Vietnam full time in January 1995 where we remain. Back in 1995... there were of course no mobile phones here, no cable TV and no internet. If one needed to call home one had to go to the central post office and pay 10USD for a three minute call. Now that same post office provides free high speed internet which enables one to call home with video too by facetime etc for free! I have been fascinated with Vietnam since my first day here. The Oscar has had its ups and down over the years. Reminded that the pandemic has decimated so much including the Ben Thanh market which is yet to fully recover as the amount of tourist traffic is still only a tiny share of pre-pandemic levels. Anyway... wishing you safe and enjoyable travels!

Vietnamese cuisine is very diverse, you can try Long Xuyen broken rice, Chau Doc fish vermicelli, pho Hanoi , Hanoi vermicelli, Vietnamese banh Canh, Nam Vang noodle soup, Saigon bread, assorted cakes The places you should go are Phu Quoc island, Can Tho floating market, seafood market in Vung Tau, Dalat flower city, scuba diving in Nha Trang city, Hoi An ancient town, extremely beautiful beaches in Da Nang, Hue ancient capital, Phong Nha cave in Quang Binh, boating in Trang An - Ninh Binh, yacht in Ha Long, visiting Hanoi capital, Ha Giang rocky plateau...
Great content. I would say make one video on the place with details for someone that wants to come down for a few days vacation. like: How to get from airport to main part of town (lot of restaurants / cheaper hotels) - Costs Must see places, restaurants and food you liked - Costs How much it would cost on average (i know everyone is different) to live there for a month. etc

You should use google translate- voice to interact more with Vietnamese people. You will find cheaper places to buy things, food, and accommodation. Vietnamese cuisine is very diverse, you can try Long Xuyen broken rice, Chau Doc fish vermicelli, pho Hanoi , Hanoi vermicelli, Vietnamese banh Canh, Nam Vang noodle soup, Saigon bread, assorted cakes The places you should go are Phu Quoc island, Can Tho floating market, seafood market in Vung Tau, Dalat flower city, scuba diving in Nha Trang city, Hoi An ancient town, extremely beautiful beaches in Da Nang, Hue ancient capital, Phong Nha cave in Quang Binh, boating in Trang An - Ninh Binh, yacht in Ha Long, visiting Hanoi capital, Ha Giang rocky plateau...
Subscribed guys. Thank you for visiting my city! Welcome!
Mandy The way u eat Banh Mi looks so good 😋😋 Can’t wait to go back Vietnam Soon.💙👍
Great content. I would say make one video on the place with details for someone that wants to come down for a few days vacation.
like: How to get from airport to main part of town (lot of restaurants / cheaper hotels) - Costs
Must see places, restaurants and food you liked - Costs
How much it would cost on average (i know everyone is different) to live there for a month. etc
