So my question is, what happens when they are put in a bigger box, even if they are on less power? And yes sir MBE I know that there a limited amount of space in the truck. But I am curious.
I absolutley love the way MB does these test....this is real world no BS musical test not a burp score...these are the only test that matter to me. Based on these test i do believe these Wavetech drivers will do more. i do believe that increasing the distance behind the subwoofer, not necessarily the airspace would give you a lower tone. im betting if that box had about 4" behind the subwoofer and less distance side to side you get a lower hertz reading....just my thoughts but ive played with hundreds and huindreds of subwoofers and the shape of the box does play a role in the sound they produce.....i fully understand MB is trying to prove the performance in the box these subwoofers are likely going inside....
This sub was made for people like me. Very limited space in my small access cab, Tundra. I want to keep my little back seat and can't really fit nothing under my seat. I got just enough space for that 12 to raise hell. I'm good with 31-37 hz. and not having to throw a bunch of power at it.
What's up M.B! I'm ol'sckool so what your doing with the 8 inch subs is amazing. Charged my paradigm. I'm 90's all day, Fosgate and JL were my Kings. My last kit was one 15 inch JLw6 I'm not sure the cubes, I do remember the port was 60+ inches. It ran bridged on a Fosgate DSM punch 200. I'm wondering if one of those wave subs will get low with low power. I dont need but 500 watts anymore.
Long time fan and listener , what's your take on the wave tech for a 01 silverado 1500 extended cab ? Also I know how you feel about this particular truck but I am trying invest money on something that will achieve loud deep bass my friend
Could it possibly be due to it being a shallow mount that it's not able to move as much air in the box? Either way, the performance of this sub is impressive!! I have never seen a shallow mount in my 35+ years in car audio with this performance. MB, your videos are very informative and appreciated. The haters are gonna double down, but still can't prove this technology wrong. 💯💪
what i been thinking about i know you cant fit the 12s faceing up like the boxes you normally make but what if you made a slant face box with the slant on the top slanted tord the back for bass reflection id try that and try to squeeze 3 12s on top slanted tords the back window if you had duel 4s you could run 3 12s at 1.3ohm i did that in my s10 extended cab but not a slant face just faceing up and it was no joke i was under powerd with 3 wolfram 12s 2000 rms 300 ounce motors on a cab22 amp still did 149 at 33 hertz probly could of did better with better battery and alt and not having bunch of leaks in the truck it was a 2000 s10 ext
I follow but I don’t follow, are you saying in order to hit those lower frequencies you need a bigger or deeper box? Also you said bigger subs develop the waves outside the cabin, does that play a factor here. Would putting that material inside the box to slow down the waves be an option?? Polyfil??
MB why not go 1.25 per… the spec sheets says it works… this would be closer to your 8” boxes…. Also if you faced that up you would experience a much different sound. I get you can’t do that permanently in your Mega cab….
i think you aint getting the lows becus the subs are forward i always found subs up in truck your not getting any bass reflection or anything to load off of but also you probly also gotta mess with port more id run pvc port at first to play with port
@ they have really peaked my interest. I’m trying to cram a setup behind the seat of my single cab ranger, and that’s the only way I can seem to get a flat response down to 32hz in my given air space
Model it in WinISD or Hornresp and see if it fits your needs. I only have .8 cu ft available in my car without cutting things up. I’m using a slaps M10v2 and a single Dayton 10” UM2 and I get 115db@35hz, 117db@40, 120db@45&50hz. Again, that’s basically no airspace lol. I love my setup. Model it and see what you can get before you spend your money
@@andrewmcmillan8110 I have been using WinISD to model quite a few boxes lol. I plan on using a slaps m12 with a skar vd12 in a 1.5 cubic ft box I should be able to hit 115’s down to 30hz
I see you slowing down on these my guy and that's ok it shows your honesty about a product and what you will stand behind, I'm hurt too man I was hoping for something good here but the clearly don't sound good it sounds like boxes I built in the past are to small it's that coil sound that resonates through the cone almost as if the coil is struggling to move the cone... Keep trying, I think the specs are off on these or something definitely not the box. My opinion but I been watching you for years and your 8's sound good not like these. lol you stuck between the creator/designer and your community you can't push it if it's wacky. you need to put a JL shallow in that same box and see what it do
I’m definitely not slowing down. Don’t know what hell you talking about. This the best shallow in the market. Been there done that with JL, they good, but no where near like this. Where the JL shallow meter scores at? I’ll wait😂😂. There are none. Stop slick hating on these subs. As far as output and lows they killing the 8’s
@M.B.Enclosures I'm not hating at all. I have high hopes for these but the spl score doesn't really mean anything as you can push a speaker past it linear abilities into distortion and get a high spl score but what can it do before it's non- linear. I'm just saying I seen so many of your music demos and unless you just recently got a new mic these are not coming through as good sounding on my end compared to the other speakers you demo. Maybe it's just the video but you've put them on music a few times now.. only love my G no hate
Man really impressive numbers for a shallow mount! Keep up the great content💯👍

So much potential with these subs. But I needs my lowlows.

I would like to see M.B put one of these in a horn Enclosure or transmission line.
He has
No I haven’t

I really feel those will play lower at a different song
Horn/TL kinda defeats the purpose of shallow mount subs.
Is this aerial port a different port type? Is that why it's louder? Google doesn't come back with aerial ports. Do you make them yourself?
Are you going to try and test 1 speaker?
Yes
How does it compare to other things subwoofer like the kicker and jl?
In my opinion, from having built and heard those subs, this is far better. Far
MB, have you tried sealed enclosure for this sub?
MBE hates sealed enclosures so I doubt he has or will
What you think it will do in 3 cubic
How many shadow mount have you tested just wondering?
I remember that water bottle video

Are these better than Rockford fosgate P3 shallow 12 inch sub ?
I want to put one in 1.50….

How do these sound compared to jl 13tw5? I have not done the 13tw5 yet but I’ve done the wavetec already

Poly fill was in this box
Watching you made me realize.. I really want some 8s lol
MBE how would the L7T 12s do?
No where near like this trust me

Do you plan on putting them in a box larger than 2.3?
Defeats the purpose of being a shallow if we put it in a box a full size driver can go in my brother
@@M.B.Enclosuresif this is going behind third row in Tahoe what kind of air space could I get away with
Lately, there's been a lot of videos on this channel about these speakers.
I think it’s the best shallow out.

I prefer up facing, it’s why I don’t like blocking the cone…but the 142 was with the seat down
What is your opinion on passive radiators?
I have none
