    Thank you so much! I’d been looking for a simple pattern for a poncho like that. I’ve been knitting forever, but was always weak at following patterns. I don’t normally take to video instructions (it’s a Boomer thing), but yours were clear and concise. I looked far and wide for a simple basic pattern with no fancy-schmancy stitches or colors so I could buld on that and get creative later.
    By the way, I can only think of needle sizes in metric, but I did figure out that your size 10 needles are my size 6.0mm. 🙂

      Out of all the needles I've tried I like the chiaogoo best. The cords are flexible and don't have memory (they don't stay coiled), and the joins are smooth and have yet to undo themselves. Pricey, but worth the investment in my opinion.

    Thank you so much for your detailed tutorials! I've been searching for a project to use my 3 weight yarn. I found your video and started yesterday but I already made a mistake on one of the eyelets already!😩 Instead of going up straight it's going sideways-do you have any tips on how to fix this issue I'm having?

    • @IDontSuckAtLifeakaJanis3975
      @IDontSuckAtLifeakaJanis3975 2 года назад +1

      What I did was changed where I did my increases because I kept messing up with the yarn over before the stitch marker between the first and last stitches.
      So if you start with 68 stitches you could do your first increase at the 17th stitch and your second increase at the 51st stitch.
      I also did garter stitch instead of ribbing at the beginning and end... It made it easier to remember increase on knit rows not on purl and it stopped it from curling.. I'll look at the one I made later to see how I remember which stitches to go into in the body of the piece later...
      I'm a newbie knitter so these are newbie suggestions... Craig probably has better ideas but I'll share what I can

      He says in the video they are Chiaogoo red lace. They're my favorite, too. If you're just getting started I'd recommend you get a couple of their fixed circular needles to try because the full set of interchangeable is a bit pricey, around $100-$150. Totally worth it though, Chiaogoos are so good! The individual fixed circulars are reasonably priced, around $10-$20 each depending on size. I get mine through Amazon. Hope that helps.

    • @rapa2894
      @rapa2894 3 года назад +3

      One thing you could do is knit a gauge swatch. Cast on 20-40 stitches and knit up a square. Measure how many stitches equal 1" width wise, and then use that number to calculate how many stitches you'll need for a neckline the size you want.
      Sorry if this isn't descriptive enough. If you don't know about gauge or swatching, search for it on RUclips. I recommend VeryPink Knits. She goes into a lot of detail.
