Easy it was definitely not 🤣 but it was certainly very enjoyable! Very flat and mostly runnable course apart from a little climb at the Falkirk Wheel. You will enjoy it, great atmosphere and, as with all GB Ultras races, it's very well supported!
Great effort, thanks for sharing. I'll be taking this on in just over a months time. My first Ultra. Really wanted to test myself at the distance before signing up to any trail ultras. Well done again. Dropped a sub to your channel too.
Hi there and thank you! It's a great event, I do mostly trail events but this one is run by GB Ultras, so despite its flatness, it's a fantastic event. Great atmosphere and organisation. You'll enjoy it! Be ready for bonus miles. It's nearly a 100k this one... Thanks again and see you there!
Thanks for sharing! What a crazy day that was. The furthest I’d ever run. Lovely weather and route that day and the checkpoints were superb. Did you stop at the pop up one with pink gin? Hope your legs have recovered.
Hi, no worries, thanks for watching! Yep, what a day! It was a great event, all GB Ultras events are awesome! No, I never! Was it the one right by the canal in the middle of nowhere with two people and a camping table, not far from the last checkpoint? I thought it was someone's support crew, otherwise I'd have stopped!!!
Yes that’s the one! I thought I was hallucinating seeing alcohol at that point in the run. Tempted to sign up for the Chester 50 next. They’re so well organised. My only niggle is that the overall distance is always a little more than advertised…
@@dalamar6228 they always are but you'll know exactly how long it is, if you download a gpx for each run. It definitely gives you a better idea of what you're up against and stops you looking out for the finish line when you reach the 50 mile mark 🤣🤣. M2L is a bit far for me but I'll be looking to do the Pennine Barrier 50 and Ultra Scotland 100 next year. Cracking events, very hilly but amazing scenery keeps you going!
Hi , was looking at doing this next year, furthest so far is marathon distance, i was wondering if the routes are clearly marked or if you have to navigate using gps etc?
Hi, the course is very easy to navigate. You follow the Clyde-Forth and Union Canals, so as long as you're running by the canal you're fine. Any turns you have to take are either marked or there is a marshal there to direct you. You cannot get lost. I had a GPX running on my watch, however did not have to refer to it at all. You'll enjoy it, it's a great event 👍
@geoffmccartney7959 hi there, yes. The course is flat and consists of mostly tarmac canal paths. Road shoes are more than suitable! I'm volunteering this year, if nothing changes before the weekend, I'll see you at CP1, CP5 and the finish line. Good luck!
Fantastic effort and thanks for creating your video. It brought back wonderful memories. GO TEAM G2E 2022!😁🙌
Thanks Marco, as always with GB Ultras, it was a great event... 👍
Amazing achievement. Well done.
Thank you 👍
Thanks for this video. You made it look so easy!!! I am attempting this one this year. Yikes!
